Is it me or do older processors seem to become inefficent Posted: 03 Dec 2018 04:20 AM PST so ive noticed lately over some years that processors such as the a7-a9 appear to become inefficient overtime compared to todays processor. What could explain the inefficiency issues and does it have to do with software updates? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Dec 2018 07:43 AM PST I created a custom ringtone with garageband and followed instructions step by step but every time when I export my ringtone and set it, it only vibrates. I have the phone on ring and track volume is set to high. [link] [comments]
How to get Siri to shuffle an album and play it? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 05:26 PM PST Saying: "Hey Siri, play ABC soundtrack and shuffle it" or "shuffle and play ABC soundtrack" just results in Siri playing the soundtrack non-shuffled. [link] [comments]

I have Location Services turned on but significant locations was not. Was the victim of a crime in a foreign country last week and am trying to pinpoint my exact location for authorities. Having no luck so far. Am I shit out of luck? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Dec 2018 03:51 PM PST So my friend got this endoscope for Android for real cheap (less than $10). He also got this "wireless" one where cable ends with a box with battery bank and wifi station. It didn't work well and requires native app - I'd prefer something that works as web app. Has anyone found some endoscope cams for iOS with proper Lightning connector (and doesn't cost silly amount)? Why does Siri suck so, so bad? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 11:56 PM PST Before half of you jump on me, I know Siri can work well enough. It's when it doesn't work that it's just so bad. 90% of the adult population I see using Siri has no concept of push-and-hold-to-talk. They let go of the button as soon as Siri beeps and then wait for the timeout when they're done talking. If this was actually the only way, half of my complaint would be invalid. So you're pushing the button, holding it, and saying your command or question right? Then you let go when you're done. That gives a perfectly clear when to start and when to stop listening command. Yet..... a not-very-insignificant percentage of attempts Siri is still sitting there like she's listening, waveform flopping around, but not actually doing anything or displaying any words on the screen. I feel like it starts an instant audio stream and if there's any problem whatsoever with the connection, it just completely shits the bed. This is how it should work: You push the button and hold it, it starts recording, you say your command or question, you let go of the button, and it stops recording and sends off the request. If there's a minor connection glitch, your audio is cached and retried instantly. If I only had problems while driving or on a questionable connection, I'd honestly let it go, but I'm on a full gigabit fiber connection with great wifi and still deal with this shit, and it's not limited to just one device. It is the most frustrating thing, ever, when you've stopped talking, let up on the button, and it sits there just f***ing away still listening to background noise. I LET GO OF THE [PERFECTLY FUNCTIONING] HOME BUTTON. ANSWER MY QUESTION!! /rant. Sorry. Anyone else relate? [link] [comments]

How to block a specific website in iOS 12 *without* blocking all adult content Posted: 02 Dec 2018 11:27 AM PST Every so often I get one of those infuriating Amazon gift card websites that doesn't allow me to back out of the page. I know to use history to get back to where I was, but once a site finds me, it plagues Safari. I used to block specific websites with no issue before iOS 12. I had a long list of blocked sites that disappeared with the update. Now, the section is under Content and Privacy Settings. I have to enable Screen Time (which I don't want to use anyway) AND enable the "Limit Adult Websites" in order to block specific pages. I'm not doing this for a child. I want to access everything until I say I don't want to be able to access something specific. This is ridiculous. I reenabled it this morning to see if I could deal with it but the filter blocked my GOOGLE.com search as ADULT. I believe I could at least put in a passcode to continue through to a website before the update, if there was an incorrect block or something. I tried this. There is a passcode option for Screen Time. It only applies to continuing on if you set a screen limit and don't want to get locked out. Why can't I use it for explicit content? Even if I were using this for a kid that gets on my phone sometimes, can I not view adult content when I, the adult phone owner, put in the passcode indicating I'm the adult phone owner? It's infuriating. Anyone know a way around this? Is there an app that would work across browsers, either to block a site on any browser I use (I swap between chrome, safari, and firefox but use safari most and don't want to switch to chrome for daily use on mobile anyway), or to allow a selective override (ETA: or even a "safe website" list, which I would be fine to add one by one over time) of the family screen time content restrictions? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Files App Only Says 1 Item in Google Drive Folders… Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:08 PM PST First of all, yes this is in Pages. It occurs anywhere that uses the Files interface (is there an official name for that?). So far, I've only seen it happen with Google Drive. Not Dropbox or iCloud Drive. I'm using iOS 12.1.
