    Every time I wake the computer after a little sleep, it freezes and I have to do a force shutdown to get it working again. Any suggestions how to fix it?

    At school, one single person has found a way to control any macbook on the wifi without limitations. I was wondering if anyone knew what method they're using and what i can do to secure my mac. (remote sharing is off)

    Why doesn't my MBP hibernate on low battery?

    Instead of hibernating, my computer simply turns off. If the computer is sleeping and gets down to the 3% area, it simply runs itself all the way down, instead of hibernating. Upon restart, I am warned that there was an error and should be reported to Apple. I have done fresh installs of macOS but this issue persists.

    Is this normal? I'm constantly losing things I was working on because the computer doesn't hibernate.

    Messages on iCloud : Quality loss for pictures?

    I was wondering if pictures received from other contacts on Message have their quality reduced if we enable Message on iCloud? Also, I assume that if I delete a message on my iPhone, it deletes it automatically on my Mac as well. If I do not activate icloud, would the message delete as well with iOS12 and Mojave?

    Can’t get the full ultra wide resolution on MBP

    Hello I have MBP 2014 that i tried connecting to the LG Ultrawide 2560x1440 21:9 monitor, and I cannot get more than 2560x1080, how i can get it show the full resolution? I tried both hdmi and display port and it shows the same res.

    Slow internet connection after updating MBP to Mojave

    After Mojave upgrade(currently 10.14.1) on 15" MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) my internet connection is slowed. When MBP is turned off internet/wifi is fine on other devices, but once on entire connection on iPhone and iPad is slow. When I first boot up MBP, the internet runs regular speed for about a minute or two before slowing down.

    I have rebooted the router, ISP is not the issue here.

    I've also connected MBP to iPhone hotspot, the same thing happens where it works at a slow speed. I have another 13" inch MBP mid-2012, with high sierra, it works on iPhone hotspot fine, also works on home wifi fine as long as 15" MBP is not on.

    Besides the internet connection, MBP 15" is running fine otherwise like as far apps. 130 of 250GB free.

    I can't find many solutions, like I don't have Little Snitch, or man 3rd party

    What are my options? Is going back to Sierra my only one? I don't have an external backup, though I'm not too worried. Most stuff is in icloud so I'd lose very little.

    Edit:

    -Safe Mode & Ethernet connection do not help.

    -Still searching, for some folks it was photostream eating up bandwidth but mines is off and no improvement

    Folders on dock?

    Hi, I've been trying to keep my Macbook Pro (Mojave) as minimal as I can, but dock clutter is one thing I can't seem to control. As everyone knows, once an app opens, it automatically earns a space on the dock to show its activity, but since I have many apps that run in the background (ex. chat apps like Viber, WhatsApp and Telegram), I want form a stack of common apps to declutter. I know I can create stacks for launch shortcuts, but what I need is stacks to hide already open but not "kept in dock"

    No night shift on LG UltraWide in Mojave

    Best way to move media files from iPhone to Mac while keeping all meta information

    I am looking for a way to offload all of my photo stream (screenshots, videos, live photos, etc.) from the iPhone to the Mac since they take up a lot of space.

    Requirements:

    -preferably keeps information of what album it is part of

    - keeps media type meta information (e.g., screenshot, selfie, time-lapse, bursts, etc.)

    - transfers Live Photos as Live Photos

    - allows me to move the files to an external HD

    ​

    I found the following options, though I am unsure what is most convenient and flexible, i.e., ticks my requirements:

    • import via Preview
    • import via Photos
    • import via Image Capture
    • import via Aperture

    I hope anyone of you knows more and I appreciate your thoughts.

    Cluster 2 Mac Pro's together for maximum power

    Hi, I want to cluster two MacPro's 4.1 flashed to 5.1 together to combine the raw power of both.

    My final plan is to have this configuration:

    2x Mac Pro 4.1 flashed to 5.1

    2x 3,46GHz 6Core

    64GB 1333MHz

    Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan X

    HighPoint SSD7101 with 4x NVMe Raid0

    + lots of SATA SSD's and HDD's for storage

    ​

    I would prefer to work with that confirguration as "native" as possible. I mean, boot up both MP's and use them as one machine. After some online search, all I found was doing that in a VirtualMachine with ESXi for example. other ones suggested some github projects.

    ​

    My questions now are:

    1. Is it possible to cluster them together via Ethernet for example to make them visible as one computer?
    2. Is there an app available which integrates them into the OS, so I can use this raw power everywhere?
    3. Would I need a third computer to access this cluster, or can I use one of both as Master/Slave computer?
    4. Is there any other hardware needed to make this possible?

    okay.. that may not all be true. sometimes it can wake up however it will take minutes. This never happened on my macbook air (High Sierra). Does anyone have the same issue ?

    I'm trying to reinstall MacOs High Sierra vía recovery mode, however after waiting about an hour (50%) through the update lingers. I go back and try restarting it twice. On the third try, the bar didn't even move at all throughout the night. I pressed Command L to check the log files and about five of these appeared: "No no native mechanism to verify (file name)

    What does it mean? Googling gave no matching problems.
