PSA: Rewinding and Fast-Forwarding music on Apple Watch is not possible. Posted: 03 Nov 2018 05:27 AM PDT You need to go to your speaker and do it from its buttons. This is unbeliveable, I'm disappointed to see all these force touch and digital crown technologies go unused for such simple actions. [link] [comments]

S4 Siri - are software defects less important that hardware? Posted: 03 Nov 2018 03:57 AM PDT Siri used to work fine for creating reminders, but recently 10 out of 10 times results in this: We know that when it cannot connect to phone it says 'Hang on...' or 'I'll tap you when I'm ready', but this one is with phone 1m away, perfect signal (it can do other web tasks, but Siri), and iPhone Siri not having a problem with the same request. Tried turning it off and on, didn't help. Anyone found a solution to this? Almost want to bring it to Apple Store, grab a Genius and replicate this 3 times in a row in front of him; is this a defect? Surely software defects are no less important than hardware defects, and if people are swapping watches because of scratches that affect aesthetics only, there should be a case for software defects that affect one of the unique selling point of the device. Posted: 03 Nov 2018 07:53 AM PDT My iPhone is a company phone on Verizon. If I put my Apple watch 3 on a data plan with T-Mobile, can I "leave my phone behind" or will that not work because they won't be on the same carrier? [link] [comments]
Do you find the Sport Loop good for casual wear? Posted: 03 Nov 2018 01:50 AM PDT Eg outside gym/sport do you ever wear yours? Do you think it looks good with say, jeans and T shirt? I've got a Stainless Steel watch for reference if it matters [link] [comments]

Is this how the fall detection is supposed to work? Posted: 03 Nov 2018 07:19 AM PDT So last night I took off my S4 and gently tossed it on the bed. Wasn't more than 1-2 feet with a short drop. Went to wash my face and heard these beeps/chirps for a minute or two. When I finished I went to investigate and picked up my watch which was on the emergency SOS screen saying it looks like you've taken a hard fall. Sorta freaked me out because I'm thinking emergency services had been called. Found an option to click I was ok and ended it but I'm gonna turn that whole thing off today. Really an option for someone older or living alone. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Nov 2018 09:35 PM PDT Hi fellow redditors! First of all thank you for any responses! I am deciding towards a new (and first) apple watch. I am a male and my wrist is at 160mm. Does anyone know how different the two are in terms of battery (I dont know the difference in battery capacity nor consumption) and overall usability (having a smaller screen). The larger one I like because of the larger screen (although as you might assume my fingers are not large) but the smaller one definitely fits my wrist better. Maybe if I get the larger one I would get used to the size? Thanks again! Also, this is my first time posting here and it was not clear if posts like this are fit for this sub - point me to the right direction otherwise! [link] [comments]
Anyone here went from 42mm Series 3 down to 40mm Series 4? Posted: 02 Nov 2018 03:34 PM PDT I currently have a series 3, 44 mm. I was looking at comparisons between the series 3 and 4 and it looks like in terms of screen realestate, the series 3 44mm screen is almost same size as the smaller 40mm series 4. So if i got that 40 mm series 4, i would have the same screen size as i have now, but smaller body, and slimmer/thinner (is this true?) body? I sometimes wish my apple watch was a little smaller and thinner/flatter on the wrist. did anyone go this route? from an older 44 mm watch to new design 40 mm [link] [comments]
Brand new owner- Monthly challenges question Posted: 03 Nov 2018 03:24 AM PDT I received my very first AW (series 4 A 40mm), as a gift, on Tuesday and have been playing around with it for a few days now. I also managed to update to 5.1 with no issues. For health reasons I haven't had the chance to work out with it, yet, or being particularly active. I have closed the red ring only once, so far and that's it. On the activity app i see the available awards (clearly haven't received any yet) but none related to November/monthly challenge. I have been reading lots of posts and seen pictures related to it hence I know it's a thing and how it should look like. My question is: is there a reason why I don't see mine? Do i need to do something specific (settings etc)? I was wondering if maybe i need to reach some goals first for it to be determined or something alike. [link] [comments]
New Apple Watch Hermes Double Tour colour? Posted: 02 Nov 2018 02:15 PM PDT My SO and I were walking around the Hermes store on New Bond Street in London on Tuesday and the sales person said this band just got shipped into the store and they don't have a clue that there was this colour combination. Of course, my SO instantly bought the band to match her Hermes S4 as she realised it was a colour that hasn't been seen before. Does anybody know if this is an actual new colour and has already been announced or has she stumbled on some unreleased colour? [link] [comments]
Different apps should be able to have different haptic vibration patterns for alerts. Posted: 02 Nov 2018 09:00 AM PDT I was just thinking about this while in the shower. I keep my watch and phone on mute. It would be nice if different app notifications could have distinct vibration patterns, just like how they can have different audio tones. I get a lot of notifications, and it would be awesome to feel whether or not I was getting a ping from an app that I prioritize higher than others. [link] [comments]
Watch keeps “forgetting” Apple Pay card Posted: 03 Nov 2018 06:05 AM PDT Hi there, since watchOS 5 my watch keeps forgetting my Apple Pay card and only shows a message "No Card" when I double tap the sidebutton. As soon as I open Apple Pay on the phone the watch card works again but only for some time. Paying with the phone always works first try. Does anybody else have that problem? The fix is easy enough, the bug still kills the convenience of paying with the watch though. Sadly I can't ask apple support because Apple Pay is not yet supported officially in germany. I had zero troubles paying with the watch and OS4 though. [link] [comments] |
