New MacBooks on eBay - No Apple Warranty - Source? Posted: 16 Nov 2018 07:11 PM PST I purchased this laptop from eBay this week: There are several instances of notebooks like this amongst different sellers: unopened, unused but lacking in Apple Warranty and with a purchase date of 1+ year. Where do these come from and how is this a profitable venture? With that said, the notebook was brand new and saved quite a bit. Nonetheless, I was hoping the good people of r/macbook could shed some light on this question. [link] [comments]
Anyone able to successfully exchange a 2018 Macbook Pro with 560X for the new Vega GPUs? Posted: 16 Nov 2018 07:12 PM PST Question is in the title, I am incredibly frustrated that it wasn't announced at launched as I would have waited. Outside of the 14 day return window now, but I would willingly pay for the upgrade. [link] [comments]

How much would the new MacBook Air weigh coming straight from Apple? Posted: 16 Nov 2018 08:34 PM PST I'm basically asking how much the MacBook Air would weigh when it is shipped from Apple. I need to know because I plan on doing a proxy because buying it from the US is cheaper and I want to account how much shipping would cost. [link] [comments]

Any decent USB 3.1 ethernet + USB-A hubs available? Posted: 16 Nov 2018 12:15 PM PST Looking at reviews on amazon, most of the products appear to be a shitshow. Fakespot shows a lot of fake reviews. I really don't care for something with HDMI because I will get a separate TB3->display port adapter. [link] [comments]
Using USB-C Dock with Thunderbolt 2 Posted: 16 Nov 2018 02:35 PM PST Would it work? I would like to future proof my setup by getting a USB-C Dock and using an adapter. Dock > USB-C > USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 > 2015 Macbook Pro. [link] [comments]
Sweat Moisture Left on Palm Rest and Keyboard on New MacBook Pro Posted: 16 Nov 2018 10:48 AM PST Hi. I just purchased a new MacBook Pro a few days ago, but I have quickly noticed that sweat and moisture are left on the palm rest area and keyboard after I type. This even happens after I wash my hands and clean the surface of the computer. This did not happen on my old computer (a non-Apple product) so I suspect it's the material that is used in making these computers. I do not want to destroy my new Apple computer (heard not to put pads on either because that will damage the Retina display when closed. I am not sure what to do. Will this damage my computer? Has anyone else experienced this problem? [link] [comments]
Bought the USB-C to HDMI dongle and my TV screen is pink Posted: 16 Nov 2018 08:15 AM PST I'm tired already. Tried few things along with going to rootless mode and overriding something with some script and it still doesn't help. Tried tons of HDMI cables, multiple HDMI ports in my TV and no luck. TV works fine with Xbox One X and Windows PCs... Solution with changing resolution scale also doesn't work edit: tried on second Samsung TV and it's all just fine. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Nov 2018 01:23 PM PST Any free ways to get a cookie cleaner or anything to optimize my MacBook? I used to have a free version or cracked version of cleanmymac which was really awesome but I updated it and messed everything up? Anyone help me [link] [comments]
I want to buy a 512gb MBA - is 8gb RAM enough? Posted: 16 Nov 2018 07:08 AM PST Apple store only has MBA 512gb with 16gb RAM for $1,799, but I can custom order online through Apple with 8gb RAM and save $200. Is that a better deal, or should I go with the larger memory? For reference, my wife and I are ditching her 2015 MBA 256gb 4gb RAM and my 2009 MBP 160gb 4gb RAM (manually upgraded from 2gb a few years ago) to share a new MacBook as our only personal computer. Storing music and photos, maybe a movie or two, doing schoolwork, and general browsing. No crazy editing going on, other than maybe having some fun in GarageBand or something like that. We definitely want 512gb storage, rather than offloading files onto an external hard drive. Also, we want to go Air due to lightness and portability, but if I should be looking at a Pro instead, let me know. [link] [comments]
Upgrading RAM on a 2012 Macbook Pro Posted: 16 Nov 2018 04:56 AM PST I have a 2.5Ghz Macbook Pro from 2012. It specifies it runs on DDR3 PC3-12800 1600Mhz SDRAM. Would a SODIMM Crucial 8GB DDR3 PC3L-12800S 1600Mhz 1.35V work on it? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
