My wife’s MacBook is using 90+% of her hard drive for system memory. Posted: 18 Nov 2018 06:36 PM PST She uses it to edit photos and she can't upload an entire 16 gig memory card to her computer. The only things she has on the computer are the editing programs and whatever pictures she's editing at the time. So I have 2 questions.
Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 03:17 PM PST Hey, so I recently had an issue with my BeatsX. When I try to turn them on the light blinks white 3 times then goes off. When charging it the light blinks from Red/White. I honestly have no idea what's going on and can't find any help online. [link] [comments] |
Iphone X does not respond to touches and "touches' the screen by itself (ghost touches) Posted: 18 Nov 2018 06:22 AM PST Is there anything I can do about this? I tried cleaning my Iphone but that didn't work. A hard reset also didn't do anything. Now im searching for ways to backup my Iphone. Can I backup my phone without entering my pincode somehow...? Posted: 18 Nov 2018 08:21 PM PST Hi guys, I have a Mac book pro I think from around 2010. I recently tried to restart it and got a screen saying it had to restart due to a problem and press a button or wait. Did this and it gets to the screen with the apple and loading bar. The bar gets to about half way then goes black and the other screen pops up and just goes between these two screens untill the battery dies, anyone have any clue what's going on? http://imgur.com/a/nYjbTfS [link] [comments] |

Posted: 18 Nov 2018 06:45 PM PST My IPad 1, so the original IPad, has been disabled. I tried connecting it to ITunes in order to put it into recovery mode, but I keep getting an error message saying that ITunes cannot connect to it because it needs to be unlocked- which I can't do, because it is disabled. Any help on something I'm doing wrong or something else I can do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 06:32 PM PST So I recently updated to iOS 12 and my iTunes account has been all screwy ever since. Basically it says I'm signed in but I can't sign out. If I press sign out nothing happens. I don't even get a prompt or anything. As well, I can't download or update anything from the App Store/iTunes store. I'll hit download, put in my password, the "get" icon will start to load then just go back to "get" like nothing happened. Same thing applies when to trying to update. I also can't access "name, phone numbers, email", "password and security" and "payment and shipping" in the settings. Whenever I click it is says "authentication failed: a server error occurred". I've already tried restarting my phone and that didn't work. Not sure if other people are having this problem but I haven't been able to fine anything online that helps. [link] [comments] |
Being sent two different codes on MacBook and iPhone for iCloud sign in... Posted: 18 Nov 2018 05:21 PM PST When I sign in to iCloud on my MacBook Pro, it asks me "Don't Allow" or "Allow", then I get sent a six-digit verification code to my iPhone that I need to type in in order to get into my iCloud on my MacBook Pro. Yet a six-digit verification code also pops up on my MacBook Pro. They are both completely different, and I've discovered that it doesn't matter which code I use, whether it be a code from my MacBook or a code from my iPhone, it'll accept either. Why is this? Is this a problem? Doesn't seem too safe and kind of weird. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 05:19 PM PST Members of r/applehelp, I need your help. Short version: I need to find a way to reset my grandfather's "old" iPad that is linked to an old account of his (to which he does not remember the password). Long version: my grandfather has this 2nd gen iPad that he got as a gift from my aunt. Someone set up an account for him and everything was fine. That was about 5 years ago. Nowadays the only use he has for it is talking to other family members using FaceTime. However nobody remembers the old password. I tried reseting the iPad using iTunes but it is now linked to this old account of his, to which he has no access. Is there any way to do a "hard reset" in iOS? I don't have Apple Stores where I live, but we do have a couple of Apple retailers who offer support; could they help? [link] [comments] |
iPhone X - Right side of screen unresponsive to touch Posted: 18 Nov 2018 05:04 PM PST Hi, my iPhone has started to become unresponsive to touch on the right side of the screen. This can be fixed, temporarily, by heating up the affected area a little and pushing down on the screen. ----- iPhone X, iOS: 12.1 [link] [comments] |
Been locked out of iCloud for a Year plus Posted: 18 Nov 2018 05:01 PM PST Hi everyone! So I have an iPhone 6+. For some reason, sometime after I got this phone it logged me out of my iCloud/Apple account so nothing is backed up. I've been trying to log in numerous ways, from changing the password to answering my security questions and no matter what it says "Apple ID has been locked for security reasons. To unlock it, you must verify your identity" after verifying my identity, it pops up with another alert immediately afterwards and says "Your session has timed out. Can not verify ID." It just feels like a never ending loop and I just want to be able to actually use my account. Any suggestions without actually having to go to the Apple store (I hate human interaction lmao)? Thanks so much! [link] [comments] |
Is MacBook Air 2017 a worthy purchase? Posted: 18 Nov 2018 08:09 AM PST Can the old one still perform in the competition. I mean the new Air has almost double the price of the 2017 model in my country. Please give me some answers. [link] [comments] |
Iconserviceagent memory hog. Please help!!! Posted: 18 Nov 2018 04:46 PM PST Ever since the Mojave update, iconservices has been devouring my memory when I access my movies folder. Sometimes taking up 30 gb memory in activity monitor (even though I only have 16gb) I have tried the clearing nvram method, unplugging the Mac and pressing the power button method, resetting permissions in safe mode etc etc. They seem to work for a few hours and then my Mac is back to being a £1750 paperweight. Is there a way of disabling iconservices permanently without detriment to the rest of the system? Or is there another way of solving this issue. I am using a 5 month old iMac 27" 16 gb ram. Does installing Mojave force 2FA to be on? Posted: 18 Nov 2018 12:37 PM PST My wife is out of the country on a business trip for a week. While she is gone I was going to upgrade her iMac and MacBook from Sierra to Mojave. My concern is that Mojave is going to force 2FA on. She has her phone and iPad with her, so I won't be able to do anything that requires them. I do have the machine and Apple ID logins and passwords. Am I still good to go forward with the upgrade? Posted: 18 Nov 2018 04:19 PM PST So I just replaced my poorly functioning Apple AirPort Extreme + Airport Express extender WiFi network with a Google WiFi mesh network. I would have bought the next gen Apple mesh routers instead, but they don't exist. Anyway, the problem with the Google WiFi nodes is that they don't have USB, so my TimeCapsule network backup and storage is DOA. But, I heard it's possible to connect an AirPort to my existing non-airport network via Ethernet, then plug my hard drive into the USB port on the airport. Could that work? If so what are the settings? I tried to configure my airport as an access point and plug it into my router with Ethernet but it froze my network. I had to unplug and restart. What am I doing wrong? Keyboard shortcuts don’t work anymore after update Posted: 18 Nov 2018 03:59 PM PST Does this happen to anyone else? Like if you make a custom phrase from "hhz" and it's supposed to bring "hey I'm going to be late" [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 06:53 AM PST Hi all, anybody knows how can I increase the font on Iphone X? I realised that the font getting smaller this morning and have change the settings to a bigger font. But, there's no changes observed on apps, specifically Safari and Reddit. It's way smaller than normal and I really have trouble to read due to my poor eyesight. Thanks a lot! [link] [comments] |
1st gen iPad Air suffering from frequent kernel panics Posted: 18 Nov 2018 02:20 PM PST The phrase 'NAND CRC ERROR' shows up multiple times in the diagnostics logs. It's a 16GB wifi model running iOS 12.1, model number A1474. I'll upload one of the panic logs when I get back to a computer, Gist isn't exactly cooperative on mobile [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 01:22 PM PST Hi guys I was just wondering has anyone here ever done a replacement battery with Apple? Did they replace your current battery with a fresh new one and how good is it? Were there any complications? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 01:07 PM PST Hey guys, Not sure if this is the best forum but I figure there's lots of experience here with downgrading iOS so I thought I'd start here. I want to downgrade from iOS 12.1 to 12.0.1 because I'm clearly getting an idle battery drain that I can't seem to pinpoint. The last time I downgraded, i always had a iTunes backup from that specific iOS version. This time, I've only had iCloud backups with several OTA upgrades since iOS 10. Is doing an iTunes downgrade while keeping all my data possible? Or do I have to start from scratch? The way I'm invisioning it is make an encrypted iTunes backup, download the iPSW of 12.0.1, do a shift restore with my phone in DFW, and then restore from the backup when I setup the iPhone. Is it as simple as that or are there some pitfalls to this method? Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
Storage issues on 2014 Macbook Pro 120GB Posted: 18 Nov 2018 07:03 AM PST Hey Apple reddit! So I have a Macbook Pro from 2014 with 120GB and I oftentimes get a notification that I have no more storage remaining. I checked a while ago and "System" takes up 85GB of memory and I only have 11GB remaining after deleting many picture and audio files. Anybody know how I can free up a lot of that space? Should I just restore my computer to factory settings? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 12:34 PM PST I have a mac and a pc. home PC needs a new install of windows. Mac is supposed to be able to do this via bootcamp assistant. I've treid two different drives, both 8GB+ (this one is 64GB). After about 30 mins, the process stops and the message "There is not enough space available on the disk." appears. I know this to be incorrect. Does anyone have any idea of what I should do? There is no PC easily available to me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Nov 2018 12:25 PM PST Food spilled all over the keyboard, so I panicked and wiped it all away and used Windex and Clorox wipes to wipe it down. The display was working perfectly when I was wiping it down, but after I turned it off and back on, I cannot see anything at all except a very very faint Apple logo while booting and the lock screen page after booting (so faint, that I have to strain my eyes super hard to see it. I'm a college student and am stressing the fuck out. What should I do? [link] [comments] |
My desktop changed when I turned my MacBook Pro back on. Posted: 18 Nov 2018 11:41 AM PST I usually put my MacBook to sleep, but I shut it down last night. When I powered it back on, I see my desktop has changed. Why did that happen? Also, instead of there just being my log-in with my name, there was also a Guest log-in. When I wake my computer back on from sleep, there isn't the Guest log-in. [link] [comments] |
