| Bluetooth audio changes quality Posted: 05 Oct 2018 08:56 PM PDT Hi guys, I have an iPhone 8 plus running iOS 12, and a 2018 Dodge Ram. Ever since i updated to iOS 12, the bluetooth audio quality has been changing as my music plays. It sounds like when you change the quality of a youtube video from 240p to 1080p. It only happens with my truck, and over aux and lightning wire to usb, it's fine. Any ideas on how to fix this? [link] [comments]  |
| Iphone XS slow wireless connectivity Posted: 05 Oct 2018 04:02 PM PDT I recently upgraded to the XS and after a few hours I noticed that videos stop loading as fast as on the old phone. I did a little bit of troubleshooting and I noticed that the speedtest on my phone doesn't show more than 12Mbps down when the old phone was showing up to 120Mpbs down. I followed the steps below to eliminate the issue:

When disconnected the problem goes away (have to quit and re open the app) Not sure what's causing it. It worked fine with the monitor before but now it's acting up - nothing changed to my knowledge. Any ideas? I'm pretty minimalist in installed stuff and haven't changed anything. I went ahead and formatted my Mac (without restoring anything that wasn't on iCloud) and the problem persists. | Posted: 05 Oct 2018 06:36 PM PDT My sister just got a new phone so I'm erasing her phone for my mom to use. iPhone 6s, Carrier Unlocked, we used to travel before and we can use tourist's SIM. I have already checked iCloud and has already removed the iPhone on her account. What's weird however is that the iPhone on iCloud is always offline. Activation Error - Activation could not be completed. Please restore the phone and install the latest version of iOS. Meanwhile Connecting it to iTunes gives me an error occured: We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time. Please try again later, or contact customer support. | iPhone 6 disabled, for no reason. Posted: 05 Oct 2018 05:43 PM PDT So basically, last night I restarted my iphone and turned it back on, and it disabled itself for an hour. I didn't think much of it, so I didn't even think about it today. About 2 hours ago, I restarted my phone again because it was being extremely slow and glitchy, and now its permanently disabled saying "iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes". | Cannot tab backwards in Word 11 Posted: 05 Oct 2018 05:33 PM PDT I am pretty sure I used to be able to do this, and it works in other apps - in fact it even works in Word 2011 itself, just not within documents. What I'm talking about is pressing Shift+ Tab to tab "backwards." In a menu this usually means jumping from one field to the previous. For example, if I do it right now I'll instantly be in the "title" field instead of the "text" field on Reddit. I want to be able to do it in a document itself. Pressing Shift + Tab is supposed to tab backwards, erasing the indentation. This can also be achieved by hitting Delete, however I specifically want it for a custom multi-level list system I spent a whole day creating at my work computer (a PC that works fine). In fact, as I'm testing some things as I write this I find that tabs don't work in in multi-level lists at all. What i mean is, if I have a list outline that looks like this: 1 2 a i I should be able to be on the 2 line and hit tab to turn it into a letter, a, or Shift + Tab to turn the a into a 3. As of right now, Tab and Shift + Tab don't do a thing in multi-level lists, rending the custom list I created useless. [link] [comments]  |
| External drive disconnects and reconnects while computer is asleep Posted: 05 Oct 2018 05:25 PM PDT I have a LaCie 2TB thunderbolt drive that I keep plugged in to my Macbook Pro 24/7. When I'm using the computer, I never have any connectivity issues. However, when I close my Macbook and leave it for a while, I come back to this— the drive has disconnected and reconnected a bunch of times on it's own without being touched. Either there is a little gnome unplugging my drive when I walk away, or there is some bug between the Macbook and the drive while in sleep mode. Any ideas on what this might be? So frustrating! | Wacom Bamboo "enable touch" option keeps disabling itself Posted: 05 Oct 2018 05:08 PM PDT I'm trying to set up a Wacom Bamboo as a trackpad for my mac since getting an actual trackpad larger than 3 inches is pretty expensive. Anyways, once I installed it, it worked perfectly for about 20 seconds before it stopped working. When I looked at the settings console, the enable touch option disabled itself, and wouldn't re-enable. If you restore settings from a file or delete/reinstall the driver through the Wacom utillity, it works again briefly before it stops working again. Any suggestions which do not involve downgrading or getting a new trackpad? I'm using a 2013 MBP on 10.14 and I'm trying to get a Wacom Bamboo to work. [link] [comments]  |
| Can you help me figure out what happened to my mom’s photo library? Posted: 05 Oct 2018 04:17 PM PDT I only have the info I can gather here to work with because she is helpless with this stuff. She went and bought an XS yesterday, and the lady at the ATT store backed her stuff up to the cloud . Her previous phone was a 6S. Looking at it now, I see 7,385 pictures and videos in the canera roll and they are all fine. Under photos, "my photo stream" is selected. On her new XS, I see 7,393 in the camera roll (she must have taken a few new ones), but way more than half of them are just blank squares that don't show up when I click them. My photo stream is also selected on this one, but "iCloud photos" is not. That option isn't even on her old phone. Right now I am importing all the photos from her old phone to iPhoto on her Macbook so they are safe, but what is with the blank photos on the new phone? Posted: 05 Oct 2018 10:17 AM PDT There was a weird OS glitch that was preventing me from signing in on any apple OS service ( I could sign in on the web, but in app got message "action could not be completed at this time"). I had a lot of notes that couldn't be saved to the cloud because of this bug. So before reinstalling the OS, I made backup copies of the com.apple.notes and group.com.apple.notes. I tried just dropping them in an overriding the existing ones, but it did nothing. Is there any way to extract out my notes or import them back in with those two folders of data? [link] [comments]  |

I've checked, double-checked, triple-checked the phones' MAC addresses to make sure that they're correct and have similarly triple-checked to make sure that the DHCP reservations on the router are correct. I chose high-numbered IPs thinking that that might prevent them getting bumped: 192.168.1.196 192.168.1.197 192.168.1.198 192.168.1.199 Nothing else reserved or active in that range. | Mac Mini Dual SSD Upgrade questions (Software/Mac OS) Posted: 05 Oct 2018 03:39 PM PDT I have a Late 2012 base Mac Mini with the 500 Gig HDD. I have two 480 GB SSDs that I want to swap in. I purchased the iFixit Dual Drive kit and am going to follow these instruction (iFixit.com) to replace the original HDD with one SSD and put the second SSD in the other bay. I have some experience fixing phones and partially putting together few PCs, so I feel ok about doing this. Plus, the instructions seem super well written. So far so good. I have problems on the software side - I want to put the drives in RAID 0 for better performance. Preferably, I would like to have a completely clean install of Mac OS on the new drives. I will copy the files from the current internal HDD in my mini to an external HDD. After that I would probably but in the two new drives and want to install MacOS. I have looked for instructions/tutorials online but to no avail. Quite a few are available for people just adding another drive, but with my plan, I won't be able to clone/just use the original HDD. How can I go about enabling RAID 0 and installing a fresh version of Mac OS? Do I strip the Mini, install the new SSDs, RAID them, use a bootable drive? Or will I need to install the OS using the USB drive and then RAID them? [link] [comments]  |

Or does all power route through the battery no matter what? I had issues with making my previous iPhone battery last and I'm trying to not make the same mistakes again with my new XS. I opened time machine and it froze instantly. I had to use the force quit command to get my machine to function again. Here are my questions: what happened? Is this still a good method of backup, or should I find a different way? What's the best way to use time machine? I just plug in a drive when I sit down at my desk, and do it that way. I have tried multiple screen protectors, using all of them in the pack at a time to get them perfect. Even with the guides that come with the protectors, when I put it on, there is always a pink and green glare or distortion along the edge of the protector. I'd rather not spend more money on protectors, but the scratches are getting bad. Or does anyone have suggestions to buff the scratches out??? [link] [comments]  |

The Apple logo shows up, and starts booting. Then a different screen or "glitch" will occur for a second, and it will go back to the Apple logo and continue booting as normal.
