Left Command key placing '§', anyone ever had a similar issue? Posted: 02 Sep 2018 08:07 PM PDT I bought this shitty iHome wireless keyboard to use while I'm working away from home. The keyboard connects to my MBP fine and works for the most part but the left control is giving me issues. Every time I hit it it's placing the '§' symbol and not performing it's normal action. As you can imagine this is pretty annoying as it completely throws off my normal workflow. Curious if anyone knows a fix for this problem. I've already tried doing a PRAM reset to no avail. Posted: 02 Sep 2018 05:50 PM PDT I am using the setting under Users & Groups > Login Items to automatically launch applications when I login but I want them to be hidden. So, I checked "Hide" checkbox but it doesn't work for some applications. For example, application window for Trello (Downloaded from AppStore) still appear. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Posted: 02 Sep 2018 10:12 AM PDT Hey people! My harddisk was erased when I changed the operating system (from High Sierra to Sierra, because some applications demanded it). I did save all my libraries and data! The question is, how do I find (in Finder) the old passwords that were saved in my old browsers? It's about a facebook password in this specific case. I'd be grateful for your help! [link] [comments]

Need assistance: kernel_task spam-reading non-existent disk Posted: 02 Sep 2018 01:08 PM PDT fs_usage -w | grep kernel_task yields an infinite wall of: It keeps trying to read the same 0x00006eb7 block. /dev/disk4 is not a mounted disk and is not seen to be unmounted.. It seems to be looking for an external disk that is not there. CPU at 100+% consistently unless I restart, the problem then goes away. It can occur after a restart as well, so I am pretty confused about this. Has this happened to you? Any ideas? [link] [comments]
OS upgrade (not clean install) and google services Posted: 02 Sep 2018 03:21 AM PDT Does anyone remember if after upgrade computer stops being recognized as a trusted device and has to go through authentication process again? [link] [comments]

Dashlane is a great alternative to Keychain and other password managers Posted: 02 Sep 2018 06:07 AM PDT I've just migrated to macOS from Windows and I have used Dashlane for the last year. I just wanted to let everyone know that the way the Dashlane app integrates with macOS (Safari, Chrome and Firefox) is phenomenal and I can't believe how flawlessly it works. I was a little worried that with the move to macOS I would lose the apps newly added VPN function (that has helped me drop a subscription) but it works just as well and the password manager seems to work with other apps on the system (though my experience with this is limited). I know this sounds like an ad, and I wouldn't usually endorse a product, but its fantastic and I think it deserves a little love. [link] [comments] |
