Can I post this? I’ve never sketched or painted before, first time with the pencil on my wife’s new iPad Pro. Very relaxing!

    Apps don't "remember"

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 08:47 AM PDT

Notes. I switch to read in ebookreader. Go back to notes. It goes to the top of the note page so I have to scroll all the way down to enter text. And I have to push at the end where I want to write.

Ebookreader. In an pdf or epub. It won't remember the page. Often. So I have to select all the way from page 1 to page 68. I have to look for it and slide pages. And I have to erite doen page numbers in the notes.

    This is immensely frustrating

Sometimes I switch to safari to look up a simple word I don't know. The same issue arrises for the two former apps when I switch back.

Admittedly this is an Ipad Mini running 9.3.5. But I do not have money to buy a new one. I deleted all apps except for spotify with some 6gb cached music I dont need. But the account is free, from a friend. So I can't log out. I also have longrecord which was pulled back due to intellectual property rights claims. I intend to keep every inch of this genious app. Thus I can't just reset my tablet.

But what can I do to fix the memory of plural apps?

    Always Impresses Me

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 03:25 PM PDT

I recently brought some Apple Lighting to USB 3 and USB to Ethernet adapters for my marketing department. They were struggling to share Luma Fusion packages between each other. With these they can copy data super quick and charge their iPad's at the same time.

The connection is fully supported by Apple and actually on their support page as usable solution. When you connected the ethernet adapter to the USB port it states it will need to download a firmware update.

    Nice!

Apps Randomly Closing and iPad fails to update!

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 12:17 PM PDT

Anyone know why this is the case? I take relatively good care of my iPad and I barely take it out the home. Anyone know how I can remedy this? It's really annoying especially when I use apps like Notability and Goodnotes that will randomly close which makes anything that I've written deleted. :(

EDIT: I've had this iPad since last September. I don't have Apple Care.

iPad accessibility by simulating an iPod Touch?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 11:33 AM PDT

My aging dad's eyes are failing, and his laptop is frustrating him.

I'm thinking about getting him into an iPad. I know that iPad accessibility options allow you to three-finger tap to zoom, either as a window or as a scrolling full-screen. But both options are annoying to use, and would be especially bad for my dad to be learning at the same time as he's learning how to use iOS.

It seems to me there should be a way to essentially make an iPad appear to be an iPod Touch, but larger. In other words, imagine an iPod; now double the size of every pixel in that iPod, and allow the screen to grow larger to still contain all of those pixels; the form factor is now about the size of an iPad. That's what I want. That's what seems to me the most sensible thing to do: have an iPad simulate a double-sized iPod. Does such a setting exist? Or is there an app or a version of iOS which allows such a thing?

    Thanks!

used iPad for classroom use - suggestions?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 07:35 AM PDT

Hi, I recently quit my job teaching pre-k at a university and took another position teaching preschool at a local private preschool. I went in to set up my classroom and realized that I don't have access to an iPad, a computer, a smartboard, or even a cd player. I'm freaking out a little because I used my iPad HEAVILY for apps (phonics, handwriting, counting), photos of my students, a listening center, and ESPECIALLY transitional music for classroom management. I just reached out to Apple to inquire about a refurbished iPad for use in my preschool classroom and was quoted $309.00 for an educational discount. Surprisingly (to me), the new ones were cheaper than the refurbished models. I don't need a lot of storage or the latest model, I simply need an iPad for my new severely-lacking-technology-classroom. Please recommend the best source for an inexpensive, used iPad. I will be paying out of pocket. Because I have three children of my own (11, 9, 9) and earn $13.50 per hour teaching, a new iPad is out of the question. We don't own a family iPad. Thanks in advance for your input. Happy weekend!

Plug in my iPad while working on it extensively?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 09:28 AM PDT

My MacBook Pro 2013's battery finally broke down (or swole up in this case) and I had to send in for a battery replacement.

I am left with my iPad Pro 10.5 for a few days, glad all my work files were saved on cloud, so for the time being, accessing files, editing word docs and doing research shouldn't be too much for iPad to handle.

Problem is, do I need to plug in my iPad? Since I'll be working on it all day. Does this hurt the battery at all?

Price drop on the current iPad Pro?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 08:31 AM PDT

I think the iPad 2018 is good enough for my daily usage. And since the Pro is twice as expensive, I think I'm going for the 2018.

But with the rumours about the new Pro, it might be wise to wait a little and hope for a price drop on the Pro. If there will be a new Pro released soon, how far is the current Pro gonna drop (based on previous iPads)? How close is it coming to the price of the 2018?

Buy iPad Pro 2017 or iPad 2018 or wait for new iPad?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 07:25 AM PDT

    Hello,

I want to get an iPad for school to take notes and read books on. I'll also use it to watch Netflix and YouTube.

They currently have a back to school deal where you get a pair of Powerbeats 3 wireless headphones so it kinda "evens out" the price difference between the iPad pro and the iPad 2018. But I don't know if it's still worth paying almost double the price for the pro. Also, if I were to get a pro, is it stupid to buy it now or if I should wait for the new one that's rumored to be released soon?

Is there anyway to make ipad 2 faster?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 05:38 AM PDT

Yes I know that's old but it's running iOS 9.3.5 and I was wondering if I can make it a little bit smoother.

Cheap Chinese "Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter"?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 04:11 AM PDT

I'm about to buy a Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter, and I found a cheap Chinese product (~$10) on AliExpress.

Anyone tried it? Will it work with the iPad 2018? Thanks.

(The previous post was deleted - I guess because of the AliExpress's link, or we are not allowed to post about Chinese products here?)

Buying a sealed IPad Pro question

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 05:53 PM PDT

    Hey everyone,

I recently saw an ad for a sealed iPad Pro. Now the seller provided me with the serial number and I wanted to check whether Apple care can be bought for it. Unfortunately, since the iPad Pro is sealed it isn't shown as activated and the buyer received it as a gift so he doesn't recall the exact purchase date.

My question is whether it is possible to know if Apple care can be purchased or not?

OneNote vs Notability vs Good Notes, best notes app for iPad Air 2

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 03:15 PM PDT

My dad gave me his iPad Air 2 for school when I said to him that I was thinking of buying one. He even gave me his bamboo pencil.

Now I'm using OneNote but I would like to know if there's anything better with more features.

I like to type my notes but I also would like to highlight and do some things with the pencil. Also I would like to turn my notes into PDF or into a word document and upload them and the possibility of editing them in my MacBook.

    Thank you very much :)

    Case IPad Pro but...

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 03:14 PM PDT

I'm handing off my 10.5 iPad Pro to my daughter. She's only 13 but has been a responsible iPad on her since she was eight. (She is only broken one in five years.) However, all her previous devices were hand-me-downs. This tablet is only a-year-old.

She is quite the artist and will benefit from using it as a drawing device. I am looking for case recommendations. In particular, we are looking for cases that will protect it from the trials and tribulations of a 13-year-old but also that will allow her to use the apple Pen to the best of its capabilities.

    Thanks!

Safe to use iPad 1st Gen for emails/web browsing?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 10:10 PM PDT

Is it safe to use emails and browse the web on a first gen iPad running iOS 5.1.1? Have a top of the range model (back in the day, of course) - 64GB, 3G.

What about PDF documents containing personal information?

Craig’s List iPad w/ remote management

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 07:58 PM PDT

Was working at an iPad today from a seller on craigslist. It had cellular service as well WiFi. Everything looked good and I was about to purchase it when I decided to do a hard reset of the iPad. When it came back the first screen was required to log into remote management for Verizon. The seller could not get past the screen. I obviously didn't buy it. I'm just curious what the remote management thing is? Is this a seller who didn't pay their bill and so they still owe Verizon something and then Verizon is preventing them from using it or is it stolen from Verizon like from a Verizon employee or what is the remote management part of things?

    Contact Noteshelf 2 Support

    Posted: 09 Aug 2018 03:14 PM PDT

Hey guys, does anyone know how could I contact Noteshelf 2 support? I didn't find an ontion to send them mail on their website, and they are not answering on FB. I heard that they listen for customers ideas and upgrade their application as client's requests. Thanks !
