    iPad LiquidText Rocks!

    LiquidText Rocks!

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 05:51 AM PDT

I just got my iPad Pro 12.9 for Father's Day with the hopes of going paperless which includes technical books and documentation.

I have been a Network Engineer by trade for 20+ years and always had a problem sitting down with a technical book or documentation and reading cover to cover so they mostly just sit on my shelf as reference material.

I just bought a couple books in the e-book format and loaded the PDFs into LiquidText last night.

I don't know why it's different reading in this format but I was able to crank through several chapters and learn a lot of information.

Thanks for all those recommending LiquidText in their posts in this sub.

    Ipad Pro: Buy or Wait?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 12:09 PM PDT

I've been looking to get an Ipad Pro for about 5 months now. Does it seem like the current models will have a price drop when the new models are announced? I'm mostly interested in using this to go paperless with my sheet music, so I'm not too concerned about new features, just looking for the price drop.

Buy Apple Pencil now or wait/hope for a refresh in September/October?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 11:53 AM PDT

I've decided to buy the new iPad 2018. I'm in university and I guess it would be nice for taking notes next semester.

Do you know/think there will be an updated Pencil along with the refreshed iPad Pros coming in October?

What "features" you think it will have?

I'm undecided wether to buy the Pencil now, or wait these months out. I'm not into drawing and stuff so I don't care about that aspect. I'm just wondering if the Pencil can have some new features that would differentiate it from the current model.

    Any thought is welcomed :)

    Help! Activation issue.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 12:21 PM PDT

Hey guys. I'm in a bit of a bind. My mother inlaw wanted to Bluetooth some photos but it wouldn't detect any devices.

So i restarted it and now its asking to connect to a wifi network and then fails activation.

Its kinda stuck at this point. I don't really know much about ipads so now im panicking that I've screwed the tablet.

    Help!?

Using Ipad pro with Duet pro/astropad for illustration WITH WINDOWS PC

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 07:21 AM PDT

So I'm due to buy an ipad pro this week to help me with my university work (graphic design). I bought a pretty expensive editing laptop last year, solid on specs, its a windows though. Can somebody who uses their ipad for illustration tell me their experiences with using their ipad pro as a graphics tablet with their windows PC?

    Photoshop/illustrator

    Thanks in advance! :)

Looking at replacing laptop with iPad... still possible to efficiently edit photos from DSLR camera in Lightroom?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 07:15 AM PDT

I have a 5-year-old MacBook Air that I've used and abused throughout college and grad school. The battery is slowly starting to kick the bucket. I'm thinking about trading it in in the next year or so either for a new laptop or new iPad. However, my new job will provide me with an Apple laptop for work. So I'm leaning towards the iPad for personal use. I know I can do everything I want on it except I'm not 100% sure about if photography will still be doable. (If it's not, it's enough of a priority that I'd get a new laptop.) My camera is a Canon 6D, so I know it has wifi, and somehow I think I'll be able to figure out how to get the photos onto the iPad. I only edit in Lightroom, so I'm wondering if it's possible to effectively use Lightroom mobile as a standalone editor and NOT as a companion to a desktop Lightroom application? Anyone have experience with this? Pros of the iPad for me are price, portability, and the artistic possibilities of the Apple Pencil. Thanks in advance!

Google seems to be playing whack-a-mole with PIP workarounds for YouTube. What's working now? Is anything failsafe?

Best way to transfer photos from and iPad to an Android device?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 04:40 AM PDT

I'd appreciate some advice on this. Next week I'm going to have an iPad with maybe 200 photos on it and I'll need to transfer about 15 of them to an Android device. I will have no internet connection. I will have my Windows 10 computer with me (not my main computer; I sync the iPad with my MacBook Pro) and the iPad cable, USB to micro USB for the android device, and the lightning to USB adapter (should I need it).

I think the best method would be transfer the photos to the Windows 10 computer over USB, then transfer them from the Windows 10 computer to the Android device over USB. Does anyone have any experience/advice doing this? If I save the photos I want to transfer to a specific folder in the iPad's Files app, do you think it will be easier to find them when I plug it into the Windows 10 computer? Would plugging the iPad straight into the Android device (using the iPad's cable and a micro USB to USB adapter that I could buy) work better?

    Edit: title: "...from an* iPad..."

How well does Duet Display on iPad Pro work with Windows?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 12:35 AM PDT

I've heard some great things about Duet, but they have been mainly from macOS users. I looked at some older video reviews on Duet on windows and it didn't seem great. I was wondering if things were different now. DOes anyone have any experience using Duet with a windows PC? Just wanted some info before I fork out the 20 bucks for it.

I'm using the 2017 12.7 inch iPad Pro

Ipad remembers bookmarks but cloud is off?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2018 04:34 PM PDT

Hello - I Just purchased a new ipad and when setting it up restored from a save point from my first ipad via icloud. I was stunned to see that my safari bookmarks and history transferred over, as did photos, despite the 'safari' and 'photos' option being turned off on both devices. These were recent bookmarks and history as well. Does anyone know why or how this would occur? Thanks!!

iPad case with Pencil holder, tablet mode, and keyboard?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2018 09:15 PM PDT

    Hi,

I'm looking around for some cases for an iPad Pro 12.9", and I'm not finding any luck. I'm thinking about getting this case because I love the tablet mode—I'll be using it for drawing mostly.

Has anyone found a case like this that has an Apple Pencil holder? It would be AMAZING if I could find a case just like this (keyboard and tablet mode) with a holder in it. Thanks!
