    [News] The iPhone10,2 (iPhone 8 global) seems to be completely incompatible with futurerestore

    So I have been playing detective recently, investigating the claim that the iPhone X and possibly all A11 devices are unable to set up biometrics while running an 11.4 SEP with iOS 11.3.1. I have proven that the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are NOT affected by partially incompatible SEPs, and other users have found that the iPhone X is affected.

    However, in my testing, I have discovered an anomaly. All of the testers involved who attempted to restore an iPhone 8 Plus global model received futurerestore error 44. Error 44 basically means that "The currently connected device doesn't match the files you inputted." Although I still believe the SEP is compatible, and since the iPhone 8 Plus global and GSM share an IPSW, and all GSM tests were successful, I believe one of two things is happening:

    1. The blobs requested for all iPhone 8 global models actually saved for the iPhone 8 GSM (aka, a tsschecker bug)
    2. The iPhone 8 Global model is not compatible with futurerestroe (aka, a futurerestore bug)

    possible ways of narrowing this down: save iPhone10,2 blobs for an iPhone10,5's ECID and see if it restores, although I have no devices to test this with

    I repeat, this bug is only known to affect the iPhone 8 Plus GLOBAL, model "iPhone10,2". If you have a GSM/iPhone10,5, you're fine.

    Below I have a table of possible problems with using futurerestore after the window closes that I will keep updated based on user feedback.

    iPhone 5s, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8 (GSM), 8 Plus (GSM) No known issues with futurerestore
    iPhone 8 (CDMA+GSM) Status unknown. Probably working, but may be incompatible with tsschecker or futurerestore as described above.
    iPhone 8 Plus (CDMA+GSM) Incompatible with either tsschecker or futurerestore as described above.
    iPhone X SEP unable to communicate with the kernel, device able to boot after restoring, but unable to activate Face ID and possibly Apple Pay.

    So, about 2 years ago I asked for a tweak that would delete cache automatically, nothing came up since then, so yesterday I made a deamon and a bash script, which combined will erase continuosly any folder you want from system.

    You can use to autodelete otaupdates folders, assets folder, caches folder, or whatever folder you want. As soon as the folder is created, it will be deleted by the daemon. I created it because Deezer was creating 1GB of junk even though I restricted this inside app's settings.

    I was compiling it in a tweak, but I realized people would eventually set the folder "/" or "/var" (and it would bootloop theirs devices).

    Maybe next month I will add "security barriers" so people won't be able to add risky folders in the tweak. Until there, if someone really wants this, just PM and I will send the files and where to place them.

    [Discussion] Regarding some confusion about Ian’s upcoming kernel exploit and Ian’s reply on that...

    As you may or may not know, the current unstable 11.3.1 kernel exploit PoC exploits something that can only be accessed with a $99 developer account. Later it turned out that Ian's could be needing the same thing too. For a reason. So Siguza did decide to text Ian and ask him what's going on with that. Apparently Ian did respond back to Siguza and told him that he had two bugs, and only one of those required that $99 developer account. So the other one is fine.

    I just wanted to update the community on that situation so no one gets confused.

    And just like I keep saying, now that this is confirmed too, get on 11.3.1 soon. The signing window will be going down soon. Especially the A11 owners should hurry up as futurerestore won't work properly for them.

    [News] iPhone 8 11.4 SEP is compatible with 11.3.1

    Me and u/novaswofter just restored his iPhone 8 Plus (over discord DMs) using the --latest-sep flag, and the Touch ID is working fine.

    EDIT: the "global" (CDMA+GSM) model of the iPhone 8 Plus is incompatible with futurerestore

    What this means:

    If you have any device except for the X running 11.0-11.1.2, I'd recommend waiting to update to 11.3.1 until the jailbreak is released or if the SEP is about to become incompatible (we'll have a little warning).

    If you have any device running 11.2-11.3 or 11.4, upgrade/downgrade to 11.3.1 immediately.

    [Release] Save your Blobs with one command and Automate it! Windows/Mac

    I was inspired to create this little system when the Apple signing mess up happened back in January. I didn't get all my blobs because something like this didn't exist at the time and I literally slept through the better half of the incident . I figured I would want something to check and save my blobs while I slept so I created this little system. It was designed to run on a laptop thrown under my bed. I've decided to share it with you guys hoping to help some of you guys out.

    What this program does is it checks IPSW.me for signing changed. Once a signing change is detected. Let's say 9.3.5 gets signed for the iPhone 5S. The program will download the blob for 9.3.5 and store in a database file that it has obtained it. This allowing the process to be quick as it doesn't have to download ones already saved again nor does it have to check for them. IT DOES allow for multiple devices to be added to the devices.ini so if you have two, three, or four phones. The program will will check blobs and save for blobs for all of them in their on separate folders. It's in basic terms, a local setup of TSSsaver dedicated to you and controlled by you, therefore you can guarantee your blobs will be saved.

    This program auto comes with scripts for auto mode to allow the program to look for new blobs every thirty seconds and save any new ones.

    [Tutorial] Upgrade from iOS 11.x.x (jailbroken with Electra) to iOS 11.3.1 without losing data

    In this tutorial I'm going to explain how to upgrade from any electra jailbroken version to iOS 11.3.1 (or 11.4).

    First of all, I can confirm that this works, I tested it on my iPad Air 2 on iOS 11.1.1 jailbroken with Electra

    1. Install SemiRestore-Lite from the Electra repo (standard repo in cydia)

    2. SSH into your device with a program like terminus, if you do not know how this works, leave a comment and I will explain as well.

    3. CD into /usr/bin (cd /usr/bin)

    4. Just type: "SemiRestore11-Lite" (without quotation marks) and then wait until it resprings.

    That was part one. Now all your tweaks are removed and your ready for uninstalling electra. (DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING FROM CYDIA FROM THIS POINT)

    1. Download delectra from this link (on a computer): https://github.com/KirovAir/delectra/archive/master.zip

    2. Unzip and put it in the /electra folder (with SSH, you can use a program like FileZilla to do this) 6.5: Please first reboot your device and then rejailbreak without tweaks

    3. With SSH, cd into the /electra folder (cd /electra)

    4. Type: "sh unjailbreak.sh" in the SSH terminal (without quotation marks)

    5. Follow the instructions on screen and pray for it to work.

    6. Wait for reboot.

    That was part two, now you are ready to upgrade to iOS 11.3.1

    1. Go to https://ipsw.me and download the right file from there (follow the instructions on their site)

    2. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes

    3. alt-click or shift-click (try both, until you can choose a file) on the update button

    4. Select the .ipsw you downloaded

    5. Confirm everything on screen and you are good to go!

    Edit: I do not know if this works 100% of the time, try at your own risk

    It's quite obvious, that a jailbreak is coming for iOS 11.3.1 If you do care, update your device via iTunes. I did a DFU-restore just to be safe (DFU = Device firmware update, a deeper restore mode). A regular restore should also do the job (via option(Mac)/shift(Win) and a click on restore in iTunes).

    Not that it's going to happen but what if maybe apple is aware of the new Jb that's going to be developed and tomorrow at wwdc they announce they are stopping 7 day certs as of now . And every one just updated their devices thinking a new jailbreak is a couple days away but instead new method and tool have to be created lol.

    [Help] I'm a jailbreak noob, help me understand!

    I want to start by apologising for how inexperienced I am with this whole thing, the last time I jailbroke was on my 4S waayyy back in 2013(ish), and i was fortunate enough to have a much smarter friend do it for me.

    As I understand, back then, it was much easier and simpler to go through the whole process, and reading through everyone else's posts these past few days in anticipation for the 11.3.1 jb, you all seem so educated on the whole thing to the point where I have no idea what some words even mean anymore!

    I'm just wondering if it's as simple as it used to be, and/or if there is anything important I should know before I delve in (with no expert supervision) as soon this jb is available.
