Posted: 28 Jun 2018 07:50 AM PDT I've become very frustrated with the "Hey Siri" feature. She doesn't recognize me saying it unless I basically yell it at her. People can hear me fine on phone calls on my watch so I know it's not my mic. My phone pics up my voice very clearly and quickly when I use "Hey Siri" too. What gives? [link] [comments]
Is there a way to edit the times available for the watch to ask you to stand up? Posted: 28 Jun 2018 07:35 AM PDT I wear my watch to bed as I have an app that helps monitor my sleep. It uses the watch to determine when I fall asleep and when I wake up, etc. The last several days my watch starts dinging at 4 AM telling me I need to stand up. It is....very unnerving since I don't actually get out of bed till 5:30. Is there a quiet time option or somewhere I can tell the watch to not bother me to stand up between certain hours? I love my watch but I'm bound to throw it one of these morning if it keeps waking me up at 4 AM. [link] [comments]

What complications, if any, do you have on your main Watch face? Posted: 27 Jun 2018 07:54 PM PDT I usually use the Color face, which has room for four complications. I switch them up a lot, but right now I have weather (I use Carrot), date, activity rings, and Breathe. (I feel like Breathe is kind of a weird choice, but I will honestly forget to take a minute to relax from time to time if I don't have the reminder right in front of me!) I'm curious to see what other people have. [link] [comments]
Attempting a Repair - Any Advice? Posted: 28 Jun 2018 06:02 AM PDT Hi All! I've probably watched about 15 YouTube videos on how to replace the screen on the Apple Watch as well as have a bunch of experience replacing broken cell phone screens. Tonight, I'm about to attempt my first screen replacement on my watch. (Series 3 LTE). I got a non-working watch from a friend and I will be using that screen. So for those of you who have experience in this department, any advice you would like to share that they may not say in the videos? Any technique or unexpected snags you have dealt with? I already learned the lesson of not buying Apple Care in the beginning and will on my next watch lol. [link] [comments]
watchOS 4 is already collecting data for watchOS 5 features. Posted: 28 Jun 2018 12:04 AM PDT Today my Siri watch face suggested I start a HIIT workout. I puzzled over it for a minute before remembering I regularly used HIIT during Ultimate Frisbee on Thursdays around that time, but hadn't since April, well before watchOS 5 was available. This means that Workouts was already part of Siri's "proactive" db in watchOS 4 but remained unused by any feature until now. I suspect other apps will be in the same boat. [link] [comments]

I'm actually kind of excited for the competition option coming! Posted: 27 Jun 2018 12:52 PM PDT Was never a huge exercise kind of guy here, but the Apple Watch has really helped me get more exercise and making it fun too. The competition element that's coming in WatchOS 5 is pretty cool actually. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
Bought an Apple Watch last week and completed my rings every day since Posted: 27 Jun 2018 05:52 PM PDT So as the title says I bought an Apple watch last week as I needed a new watch and thought I'd get in the smart watch market. I was somewhat hoping it would help motivate me to be more active and lose some of the ungodly amount of fat (30lbs over ideal weight) I've put on in the past year, but I wasn't too optimistic about it as I've tried a lot of things to motivate myself and none worked. I bought it at 6pm on friday and around 11:30pm I noticed on my watch face that the move ring wasn't closed so I though what the hell, put on my running shoes and went for a run. This was the first spontaneous workout I had done in months, and all it took was to see right there on my wrist that it could be done. I've closed my three rings everyday since and I set my move ring to 800 kcals this week to increase the challenge (660kcals last week). I'm hoping the motivation doesn't wear off, but having the three rings right there on my watch face really helps to make it a tangible goal instead of just something I "should start doing". Also I never thought the apple watch could be such a game changer. Having notifications on the wrist is amazing, plus music control, siri, navigation, boarding passes and movie tickets... so many things that make it slightly annoying to get your phone out for such a small task. I knew it was a cool gadget but after just a few days I realize it's already changed the way I interact with my phone and I'd have a hard time giving it up! [link] [comments]

Strap for 270mm/10.6" wrist - Apple Watch 3 42mm Posted: 28 Jun 2018 12:32 AM PDT Hi, My father has logs for arms, 270mm/10.6 inches wrists, and he just bought an Apple Watch 3. So far I only found ONE option, which was a Nato nylon strap from Carterjet on Amazon, and searching for it is proving very difficult. Do you know of any options? We are in Europe. How good is the sport loop while working out compared to the Nike sport band? Posted: 27 Jun 2018 08:42 PM PDT I tend to sweat a lot during my workouts and my watch fails to read my bpm due to accumulation of sweat while working out with the nike sport band. Is the sport loop any different? [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jun 2018 06:45 PM PDT I'm planning on starting Stronglifts 5x5 tomorrow and have the iPhone app, but didn't realize there wasn't an Apple Watch companion. Is there another app that will automatically add the correct weight to each exercise? For example, after completing bench press on day 1, day 3 would have 5 pounds added to the exercise. I've downloaded Strong and Gymatic but can't figure out if there is a way to do this. I love Strong, but my routine right now is not very efficient so I want to use something streamlined and proven. Posted: 27 Jun 2018 12:37 PM PDT I just got a 42mm Apple Watch, and still fairly new to the accessory in that regard. I'm looking to get a stainless steel band to give it a more formal/professional look, but I wanted to make sure I'm not investing in something with questionable durability (i.e. rust from sweat/moisture, easily scuffed or damaged, discoloration, etc). Does anyone know a reputable brand I can choose from? Looking for a good space-gray/stainless steel/chain band if there's a good one out there. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Jun 2018 06:33 PM PDT Has anyone worn their watch to the beach/ocean? Did it survive? would you recommend? Because I want to track my activity still. [link] [comments] |
