Now, about 25% of my iTunes library are SD quality, which I usually don't even bother watching. I'm surprised they haven't worked out a method of upgrading to HD. I know they're automatically upgrading HD movies to 4K HDR for free, which I know is to make the purchase of the 4K Apple TV more enticing, but nothing for SD films. I wouldn't mind paying a few dollars to upgrade some of my SD movies. [link] [comments]  |

I don't want the TV switched on when playing music. I thought it was bad before when I had to activate this app EVERY time I try to use it. But now when I activate my account says it is activated but the App Still shows inactive. | The Apple TV 4K is amazing for Kodi Posted: 23 Jun 2018 05:29 PM PDT It's pretty incredible how well Kodi runs on the 4K considering it is totally unofficial. I have a Shield and the 4K runs circles around it. I originally just got it because I got it free for paying for DirecTV Now for 3 months and because I switched to the iPhone last year so now I have an AirPlay device but seriously, putting Kodi on it was just to see, I didn't expect it to actually end up performing better than an official Kodi device like the Shield - even the software upscaler is noticeably better on the Apple TV 4K to the point that sometimes when I forget to change the resolution in the Apple TV settings, I don't realize I'm watching 1080p scaled up to 4K. It's such a shame that Apple doesn't put ports on this thing - it would be perfect if I could just hook my hard drive up to it like I do for the Shield instead of having to rely on network shares. I would definitely say that it was worth the work to get it up and running, it hasn't even crashed once while ironically, Netflix keeps dropping out when I'm watching it - the episode just stops, no error or anything so I have to watch Netflix on my Shield and use Kodi on my Apple TV 4K. Love the experience so far, however, I cannot figure out how to remove LGBTQ Stories section from the TV App. I don't want political propaganda on my Apple TV. Any suggestions?
