Apple TV screensaver will finally show location information! Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:57 PM PDT I can't believe it took this long for this. It's always bugged me that it didn't say where the videos were taken. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Jun 2018 11:14 PM PDT How does this work, I didn't really get it. My Netflix, prime and DAZN always stay logged in, but I've nothing but issues with Sky. I regularly get logged out and need to login in again and this is a painful process on the Apple TV. How can I take advantage of the single/zero login to avoid this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jun 2018 01:01 AM PDT Hi, I've brought my Apple TV with me to a holiday park and sadly the cellular quality here is too poor to be of any use. Connecting the Apple TV to the WiFi is not possible either, because I can't connect through the usual way. On iPhone when connecting to WiFi, I'm sent to a website to login, so this is a no-go for the ATV. Is there any way to AirPlay video to my ATV? At the moment I seem only able to sent audio (music) I have a Apple TV 4K. [link] [comments]

Who else is most excited about third party remotes with siri support? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 07:13 PM PDT TVOS is going to get third party remotes support with siri! That's my favorite news all day! I love my Apple TV, but the remote just does not work for me with the touch controls. I cannot wait to see what third parties do. [link] [comments]
You knew tvOS wasn’t getting much of an update... Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:25 PM PDT When they highlighted that there was (and has been) an Apple TV Remote Button in iOS's control center! Oh well, there's always next year or the next hardware. [link] [comments]
Direct tv now Apple TV 4K promo Posted: 04 Jun 2018 07:56 PM PDT Those of you that participated in the promo to get the free Apple TV 4K... How long did it take to receive it? I signed up for the promo last week Thursday night, hoping to get it tomorrow Tuesday! [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Jun 2018 11:44 AM PDT Hey guys, Q about new screensavers announced at WWDC: Will they only work on the 5th gen Apple TV 4K or will they be downscaled to work with the 4th gen? Further, does this mean that my 4th gen AppleTV doesnt get any of the newer 4K aerials that are on the 5th gen 4k apple tv? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Constantly have to login to Hulu on ATV 4K. Posted: 04 Jun 2018 06:47 AM PDT At least once every day or two I have to log in. It's a real pain in the ass as my password is pretty long for Hulu. Has anyone else experienced this? I think I've read you have to re login when there's an app update on ATV, but I'm almost certain there's not a new update every day. [link] [comments]
Help: Apple TV has apps I didn’t insrall Posted: 04 Jun 2018 04:37 PM PDT I came home last weekend to several apps I never installed on the Apple TV (4K, if that helps). The apps were: Treehouse, CraveTV, CBC TV, YouTube, Viki. I NEVER installed these, and immediately deleted them. Upon doing so, I checked the App Store to see if they were in "purchased" and they weren't. If I go to each of those app's pages, the download button is a "Get" button, meaning it doesn't register as downloaded on my Apple ID. Next: I checked my settings. I did not have Automatically Download Apps enabled, only had my Apple ID on it, and even disable AirPlay on open networks. I'm baffled and am paranoid I either got hacked or someone broke into my house as installed those apps. But in either case, the apps would have been in my purchase list. What happened here? What do I do? Contact apple(and what can they do anyway)? Hoping someone has had something like this happen and can explain it! [link] [comments]

Charter Spectrum Zero/Single Sign On Posted: 04 Jun 2018 02:51 PM PDT Anyone know if Apple TV will support single sign on for Charter Spectrum in the near future or do I have to wait for tvOS 12? If anyone here has the beta, are you able to utilize zero/single sign on? [link] [comments]
got my Apple TV 4K free via the DirecTVNow 3-month promo... does it have a warranty? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 06:51 AM PDT I got my Apple TV 4K free via the DirecTVNow 3-month promo earlier this year. (prepaid 3 months of DirecTVNow service for about $105 and received it free) Since DirecTVNow didn't provide a receipt for the Apple TV 4K, what kind of warranty do I have on it? Thanks! Xiomara Ultra Short throw projector Posted: 04 Jun 2018 10:28 AM PDT I'm thinking of purchasing a Apple TV 4K to use with my Xiomi projector has anyone had any success using both? [link] [comments]
No sound, only video for new Apple 4K Posted: 04 Jun 2018 02:10 PM PDT Tried resetting the system and different HDMI cables, neither work. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Jun 2018 05:33 PM PDT It just felt underwhelming... And the lukewarm applause after "space station view" new screensaver shoved that. When I bought ATV4, when it just was released, I was excited of great new horizons it could achieve. I was a user of ATV1 and ATV3 before that, but this one with true OS and prospects of applications and games, felt like it could be a new living room (or bedroom) computer. I really liked the simplicity and usability of new remote (unlike many) , and found playing Asphalt with it, or just browsing Youtube really good. Even text input (small one) didn't bother me. I learned how to swipe stronger or softer to get to a letter I want, and found it easier to use than a former square layout. I often played music (with FileExplorer app, or Bat Radio) in background while playing a game of Solitaire or browsing Reddit or reading rss news. I found it brilliant and filled all 64gb with all sorts of apps like a hoarder. But, now, more than 2 years ahead, I find the whole thing buggy, and stale. Apps often drop out, interface glitches in all the weird places, it restarts often, and is not joyable to use as it became ordinary. And the whole presentation, with their direction being "oh, new screensaver, with location described", and all the video/audio bells and whistles, seems like they are determined to keep it at just the "your tv, but enhanced" level, and not the computer I imagined. And to prove my point, here is the lackluster TVAppStore, which just moved in reverse of what it was in the beginning (you could see what app update brings, prior to update), lack of "new games", "new apps", "updates", more categories, and the constant forcing of "auto update" option, is mildly irritating. And the Music (and Computers) app, minus the forced Apple Music streaming service, is greatly behind of what they had on Apple TV 1st generation, which had interactive Albums, better sorting and browsing. I'm just very , very disappointed at this moment, of this glorified TV box. It seem like that this trillion dollar company could do better, since it manages only about 20 products at the time. Instead, they just want me to use it as extension of my iPhone, instead of self-sufficient product. And I'm really tired of their pushing of streaming services. Oh, the Apple eco-system. It's just, like, my opinion, man. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:25 PM PDT I have Att U-verse. I am signed in on my Apple TV and it lists all of the apps I have that will share my credentials. I still get kicked out occasionally and have to log in to my provider even though they are listed as shared. What am I missing? Isn't that the point of sharing credentials with my provider? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:12 PM PDT Pretty self explanatory title. Looking on advice how to make the most of it!!! Should I jailbreak it, if so how? Which apps are hidden gems? Any cool features I should know about? [link] [comments] |
