Feature suggestion: 3D Touch to switch off WiFi Posted: 13 Apr 2018 02:52 AM PDT Since iOS 11, the behavior of the control center WiFi and Bluetooth switches was modified to just disconnect from the current network instead of really switching of the WiFi. I have read the reasoning behind this change. I was just thinking though it would be cool if Apple added the option to 3D Touch the toggles to switch WiFi completely off. I know this probably won't happen but one can dream. :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 03:48 AM PDT I'm using an iPhone 5s on 11.3. I know how old this phone is and I just want to appreciate how smooth it has been running or atleast I feel it is running smooth given its processor from 2013 and a Gigabyte of RAM. Probably because the two most used applications on my phone namely Apollo For Reddit and Telegram X are built using Swift. I guess their memory footprint is quite small as well because every other cross platform app including the official Reddit app lags on my phone and I don't blame them but the smoothness of these apps built using Swift is so pleasing that I want to get a MacBook as soon as I can and try building some stuff with it. Switching from S8+ to Red Iphone 8 Plus Posted: 13 Apr 2018 01:34 AM PDT I've had android recently for a while now. Havent touched an iPhone since the iphone 4. I really love the red color and think it's time for a change in hardware in terms of OS. Anyone think it's a good idea? Maybe I'm just bored of Android OS. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 06:54 AM PDT Are people still having issues with iMessages coming in out of order? I've tried everything under the sun to fix it, with no success. Hard resets, setting resets, turning off/on iMessage, adjusting the clock. It occurs anytime someone replies to a message withing the same minute of me sending the message. iPhone 7, just updated to iOS 11.3 this morning. [link] [comments]
Just swapped to iOS, need a good Podcast app. Posted: 13 Apr 2018 12:30 AM PDT I'm a long-time Android user and I just got the iPhone 8. The Podcast Addict app on Android is the best one I've ever used, and i was wondering if anyone knew of a good alternative on iOS. I need it to do a few basic things:
The third point I don't need but it'd still be nice. I'm currently using Overcast but the UI is a bit clunky and unintuitive. If anyone has any recommendations that would be awesome. [link] [comments]
Instagram now supports portrait mode for 6s and up. No dual cameras needed! Posted: 13 Apr 2018 10:20 AM PDT Instagram's newest update has a feature called 'portrait' in the camera where it can identify a person and blur the background while keeping the person in focus. Similar to what the Google Pixel 2 does. [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 03:46 AM PDT Got an iPhone 5S at the mo which is pretty dead. Battery is screwed, home button doesn't work, lasts only a few hours on charge. I love the look of the new red 8 and I'm super tempted to pick one up but I'm wondering whether it would be worth waiting till September for the new iPhone. I'm really looking forward to having apple pay and a faster phone but if they bring out a cheaper version of the X that'd be super tempting too. Anyone have any thoughts on what I should do? WiFi calling and cell signal question Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:38 AM PDT Sorry if this question has been asked before or if it's a stupid question. If I have the WiFi calling feature on my iPhone turned on and the WiFi signal is strong with all bars showing, but my cell signal strength is poor (showing only 1 or 2 bars) will my phone have strong service because it's using WiFi instead of the cell signal? Basically my cell reception is terrible in most parts of my home so I'm wondering if turning on the WiFi calling feature will fix this. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:08 AM PDT I know there are plenty of articles out there that probably talk about this, but I am hoping to hear some real user experiences out there. I gotta say, I was thinking about waiting for the update of the X line later in the year, but the new Red iPhones have me thinking that maybe I'll just go for the 8 Plus. Would that be silly of me? Should I just wait it out at this point? I am coming from a 6S with 16gb of storage, so there's three things I'm really looking for right now: the better cameras, the bump in storage, and the bigger screen. What do you guys think? Is it worth it upgrade to the Red 8 Plus right now, or should i just wait til September? There is of course the price difference between the 8 Plus and the X too (I think I would do the monthly plan, where the 8 Plus is $10 less a month). Thanks! [link] [comments]

Battery life woes. Is it my specific phone? How do the 7 and 8 compare? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 07:54 AM PDT I've got a 6S that I haven't used in a long time due to a foray into Android world. I'm back on the iPhone now, but one thing that has stood out to me is how crummy the battery life on my specific device is. Last night, I was at 95% around 7PM. This morning it was at 35%. I barely used the phone last night! Cellular signal and wifi signal were both strong as well. How is the battery life on the 7 and 8? Not really considering the Plus versions as I like the smaller form factor. [link] [comments]
Anybody know how to fix the “I.T” glitch? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:46 AM PDT I just updated to IOS 11.3 hoping to fix this "I.T" problem...I want "I.T" to spell I.T like "it" without me having to actually press the word prediction on the keyboard. It's soooooo annoying! Anyone else is having this problem besides me? Somebody help!!!! [link] [comments]
Issue After Upgrading iOS 11.3 Posted: 13 Apr 2018 12:21 AM PDT Any other Apple iPhone user facing Call Failure issue after upgrading to iOS 11.3 ? A sudden rise in the number of call failure is what I am experiencing, not sure if the problem is because of iOS or network though. I'm currently using iPhone 6s since last 2 years. Cops Cracking iPhones Across the Country with This Device Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:33 AM PDT

After 11 days without a phone, they emailed me today. Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:04 AM PDT I mailed in my iPhone 7 Plus (2,000km/800 miles from where I live to where Apple's HQ is) around 11 days ago. it arrived at Apple HQ the same day. This was due to ongoing battery issues where the device woud say it was charging, then stop, then start again. The issue would go away for a few weeks and then come back. That was 11 days ago. Only today did I get an email saying "We received your device..", even though it arrived the same day. One would think (and I know they have other devices to repair, not just mine) that Apple would want us to be back using our device because they want more money, right? I can't spend money on apps and accessories if I don't have my phone. On the bright side, they are replacing it free-of-charge with a brand new device (my device is out of Apple's warranty but consumer law still applies) [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 06:35 AM PDT So i picked up a pair of airpods. Lets say i cant see dust on new things, so i just clean them like every use, and i want to hear how do you guys makes them clean for long? I picked up the catalyst case for them so it will cover most of the case like 99% of the time as soon as it will arrive. So how do you clean your pair? [link] [comments]
Is the 3 GB of RAM on the 8 Plus noticeable over the 2 GB on the 8? Posted: 12 Apr 2018 03:13 PM PDT Is the extra RAM only used in the image processing for Portrait mode or does it also get used in everyday tasks? [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 10:30 AM PDT Do you find more reliable datas from Dark Sky or Weather Underground? What I know is that WU has more weather stations, is it correct? Thanks for any feedback! [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 10:22 AM PDT 1) Do you need to tell the cashier that you are paying with Apple Pay or do you just place your iPhone above the payment terminal without saying a thing . 2) do you need to enable mobile data before you pay with Apple Pay . [link] [comments]
Is there a way to export an iMessage conversation to a PC for FREE? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 06:30 AM PDT Every damn google results refers you to a software app that costs $39 or more. They offer free trials but I want to export an entire conversation. [link] [comments]
Can doing a lot of 3D-Touching in one area damage the phone? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 10:03 AM PDT I use 3D Touch quite a lot in a game in a certain area, and I'm wondering if the force in roughly the same place every time will damage the screen. Thanks in advance and sorry for the stupid question! [link] [comments] |
