    Still bugs in iOS 11.3! When I open a folder on my iPhone and when I bring down the cover sheet there’s a black background on the homescreen. Has anyone experienced this on your iPhone?

    ios 11.3 on iPhone 6S, very poor battery life

    Hi all, apologies for what im sure is a stupid question asked milions of times, but I searched and I wasnt able to find a definitive response..

    Over the weekend I upgraded to ios 11.3 on my 6s and since then my battery life has been terrible.

    The battery status shows as 87%, so not perfect but certainly not bad enough to cause such drop in performance.

    I havnt used the phone any heavier than previously, and its losing almost 70% in 4 hours, which is far too much. Sometimes I can see the level going down as I use it.

    Ive done all of the tricks to conserve battery life, turning off autoupdate, location services for unnecessary things, brightness isnt too high, etc etc

    Do we know, is it a bug on ios 11.3 that Apple may resolve?

    In your opinions, would a restore from backup of the phone help? Ive heard that it does but im confused as to how or why.

    Massive battery drain due to mail app?

    Using a new iPhone 7 Plus that's less than a month old with iOS 11.3, I charged it to full yesterday and noticed it at 38% battery today and I have yet to even use it, anyone else had this?

    iOS 10 vs iOS 11

    Hey all, I want to consider upgrading to iOS 11.

    I've held out

    I'm currently running the latest version of iOS 10 on my iPhone 7 plus and watchOS 3.2.3 on my Apple Watch series 2.

    Should I upgrade to the latest IOS? Will my battery life suffer? Will I experience stuttering ? Will I experience bugs or removed features ? Will it decrease the monetary value of my devices? Discuss :)

    11.3: no audible notification for iMessage but from only ONE contact ("hide alerts" is not turned on)

    Just starting this morning, I'm not getting proper audible alerts when my mom sends a text. I hear the "whoosh" sound as if the phone was unlocked and I was staring at the screen and a text arrived, but there's no "ding" notification like for all other contacts.

    "Hide alerts" is not turned on so it's not that.

    Any ideas? It's just the one contact so far.

    11.3 and parental approval of app purchases

    I thought 11.3 was supposed to add FaceID to approve family member appstore purchases? My son just requested his first app since I updated to 11.3 and it STILL makes me type in my (very long) iCloud password.

    Is there a setting somewhere I need to enable?

    The most jarring ones are when pulling up the multitasking app switcher, exiting out of an app and then suddenly swiping through apps on the home screen and for some reason if you open apps like Safari from the dock menu it skips frames too. All of this allegedly on " the worlds fastest smartphone chip". I'm pretty sure this is 100% iOS 11 at its best which is rendering the hardware useless. I'm using the latest iOS 11.4 version and I honestly just can't wait for iOS 12 which is supposedly going to be focussing on stability and performance. I can't believe I spent $1200 CAD on this phone and can't even get top of the line software performance. WHY ARENT PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT SOFTWARE MORE THAN HARDWARE!?!! Edit: Literally* in the title

    Hiding Apps in iOS

    Is there a way to hide apps besides just placing the app on the third page of a folder? I've seen methods to delete apps from the home screen entirely, allowing them to only be launched if searched for. None of these methods seem to work on iOS 11.3 which I'm currently running. Any help is really appreciated!

    Is it possible to downgrade from iOS 7 to iOS4?

    I have a 64 GB iPhone 6s which is on 11.3.

    After upgrading to iOS 11.3 the System is using 14.5 GB. i have totally used 44 GB of 64 GB and I still see lot of free space.

    With this, whenever I try to take Whatsapp backup, it always complains that i need to free up 150 MB.

    I have 50GB of iCloud and used only 7 GB of space.

    This started happening only after upgrading to iOS 11.3

    I could do a restore via iTunes but I got this phone in 2015 after it was launched and till date i have never wiped. One of the best thing I like about iOS and iPhone compared to my previous Android phone.

    Are there anything without restore from itunes which I could do? I basically want to save time and the effort to do this.

    Bluetooth tethering broken in iOS 11.3?

    Since 11.3, bluetooth tethering no longer works on any of my devices nor my girlfriend's. Has anyone else experienced this?

    iPhone X

    iPhone SE

    iPad Pro 12"

    Can no longer even see each other or pair via Bluetooth and devices that could previously tether can no longer connect.

    Edit: solved! Somehow tethering got turned off (usually I let it pause automatically) and that prevents devices from even pairing over BT

    iPhone 6 on iOS 10.3.3 vs. iPhone 6S on iOS 11.3?

    Hey all,

    As the title states, I'm wondering if I should sell my iPhone 6 on iOS 10.3.3 for an iPhone 6S on iOS 11.3. I'm considering this because I want a faster phone, due to the iPhone 6S's 2GB RAM vs iPhone 6's 1GB RAM. But I'm also wary of the iOS 11 slowdown on older phones.

    Should I do it?

    ios keyboard shortcut to replace text with a series of .gifs?

    Hello all,

    So this is a weird thing to try and do yet here I am, asking for your help.

    So I am familiar with creating normal keyboard shortcuts on ios. I have also figured out that if you put the link to an image or gif as the content to have placed in place of your "text phrase" as a shortcut, it will show the image/gif when you use the phrase in imessage (due to ios showing the content of links).

    Additionally, I know you can paste multiple gifs in a message if you are using the google gif keyboard. This allows me to accomplish something such as this (the phrase I am trying to represent is "stop don't talk to me loser lameass wannabe"): https://drive.google.com/open?id=168cZuk_kTJqLK4myaooqAQysEhg8KM6V

    What I am really trying to do is combine the two. I would like to be able to type a phrase and have a series of gifs automatically replace it.

    So far I have been able to get it to somewhat work by getting the links to the gifs and then putting a space in between each one and saving that as the string to be placed when I type the phrase, but those spaces are sent as separate messages (which isn't ideal).     Any other ideas of how to accomplish this? Or how to get rid of these spaces?

    Please help. No more app auto updates since 11.3

    Hi,

    since Ios 11.3 my iPad Pro 12.9 (2017) and my iPad Air do not automatically update any apps anymore.

    To see and install updates I have to manually open the app store and go to the updates tab. When I am there it shows updates, but sometimes i have to manually referesh by pulling the tab down with the finger and releasing it.

    Since this happens on 2 devices i think it might be a problem with the apple id.

    What I tried on both devices so far, after searching the net for solutions:

    • changing the payment settings of my apple id.
    • disabled auto updates, removed the apple id, rebooted the device, re-added the apple id and re-enabled auto updates.

    Any tips or ideas are appreciated.

    Is iOS 11.3 jailbreakable?

    So I haven't jailbroken and iPhone since around 8th grade. I was wondering if 11.3 was jailbreakable or if Apple found a way to completely stop jailbreaking. My only reason for jailbreaking would be to get the application swype if anyone remembers it lol
