Posted: 16 Feb 2018 02:23 AM PST I've been working on an encyclopedia for a world I'm creating, but my handwriting is terrible. So I'd like an app that I can draw in and have a textbox to type in as well. Anyone know of one? [link] [comments]
Cannot decide if iPAD is the right path for me (incl. prices) Posted: 16 Feb 2018 04:25 AM PST Hi all, I would like to ask you for advice which device to buy? During the week I have a full time job and during the weekends I am a student at technical university. Current devices I use for my school workflow: Work: HP Z440 Workstation Home: Custom Ryzen build PC Phone: Huawei P9 Lite As you can see there is no true portability. After 3 months of searching i have ended up with various scenarios. Right now the problem is I cannot decide which device will be the best for my needs: General requirements:
Frequently used Apps:
This lead me to following scenarios:
Each of these have its own disadvantages which I surely will have to accept. Deep diving in the apple products, following costs popped out (Including VAT): iPAD pro 10.5" 64GB Cellular (810€) USB-C apple lightning cable 2m (40€) apple pen(108€) 29W USB-C charger(50€) Holder (5€) 2y Insurance(54€) = 1150€ iPAD pro 10.5" 64GB Cellular (810€) *USB 2.0 apple lightning cable 2m (20€) *Cheap pen(5€) *Holder (5€) *2y Insurance(54€) = 894€ iPAD 9.7" (2017) 128GB Cellular (630€) *USB 2.0 apple lightning cable 2m (20€) *Holder (5€) *Cheap Pen (5€) *2y Insurance (54€) = 720€ thx [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:49 AM PST I just upgraded a picture frame to an iPad Pro. Simply put, I used a picture frame as a personal whiteboard and would like to find an app that is easily erasable. Right now I have notability and tried out a whiteboard app. Notability is great for notes but all I want to do is solve a math problem, check my answer, and tap a button to erase the work. Scrolling would be a nice bonus. [link] [comments]

VPN Connection to Windows File Share Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:23 AM PST Does anyone know of any way I can view my office file share (Windows 2012 R2) on iPad? I used to connect through PPTP (before Apple removed PPTP connections) and then view the file structure in the FileBrowser app. My only options to connect are PPTP and SSTP, neither of which Apple support. I just wondered if any had the same issues and came up with a workaround. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Any apps to watch fullscreen(16:9 i.e no black bars on top and below) videos in ipad? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 11:47 AM PST Idk if its 16:9 but i want to be able to watch videos on the whole screen(video proportions adjusted accordingly like you can do i laptops). Why is it not possible to do this? Are there any apps that can make this possible? [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 10:05 AM PST Hello everyone I been through three replacements of iPhone X First one dust in lens and screen not glued right Second dust in lens they attempt a repair at Apple but failed and gave me a replacement My third unit I have now has dust in the lens it looks like a smudge or hair on second lens and first lens has dust in the camera module it self in the middle Other issue I had is phone freezes and gets very hot during use and Face ID and wireless charging work some times and fails. The only thing I used to clean the lens in a whoosh branded cloth apple told me to buy and dust still gets in lens and ip68 water and dust resistant is ruined. Apple has horrible quality control and Tim Cook don't care about it and these issues was reported online. I plan to go to an Apple store to get my iPhone X fixed again since I"m paying it on a loan from Apple. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 09:49 AM PST Hello, I've been using my Ipad for school for about 2 months already, I have some apps but I want to ask if you guys think I need something else to complement what I have already. My note taking app is Notability, I love how I can keep everything organized and how it backs up to dropbox and google drive. Also the voice recording function is great too. My calendar app is Fantastical 2, I like the interface and how easy it is to create a new event just using simple words, the only thing I have with this app it is that I think I don't know how to use it to its full potential. My task manager app is Todoist, I downloaded this app a few days ago, so I don't really have a good feel out of it yet but it is working great so far. For handling PDF I have Scanbot, in its free form, and I have LiquidText for edits. I have IFTTT and Workflow, but I am not using many recipes, If you guys know some it would be great to know. My email app is Spark, it has a clean easy readable interface and the best thing it is free, I've heard great things about Airmail3 but I don't really find it necessary to spend the extra money on it. The last app I want to talk about is Glady, it is a shelf app, great to use for the drag and drop function and makes moving files really easy. If you have ideas on what should I download, or how to improve my current set up I would be happy to read it. Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 08:06 AM PST I've been eyeing OmniGraffle but this is much more affordable. I was wondering if anyone has tried it or if you could recommend an alternative. I'm going to use it for work to illustrate workflows, create diagrams and network topologies. And mind maps to sort out personal ideas. [link] [comments]
Sync PDF/ePub files from iCloud to iBooks Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:56 AM PST Hi, I have an old iPad 3rd gen running 9.3.5 that I want to use only for reading. I want to do so using the iBooks app. I've uploaded a few PDF's and ePub's to iCloud but it isn't showing up on ibooks. All the sync settings are in place. What I'm I missing? Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks! [link] [comments]
App for pro besides procreate? Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:41 PM PST Looking for an art app to use mainly for webcomics. I don't need a lot of the painting features, but predictive stroke or something similar would be nice for line work. I'm also looking to do subtle animations, I liked sketchbook motion, but hated the import/drawing features on it. Any suggestions paid or free would be welcomed! [link] [comments] |
