Chances of a new iPad next month?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 11:22 AM PST

I know that Apple usually has a March event or refreshes its website with new products. I really want to buy an iPad. I want the 2017 9.7 iPad 5th gen because the cheap price. I'm worried that if I purchase it, Apple will refresh it next month. What are the chances of a new iPad next month?

    Specific headphones are too quiet

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 09:40 AM PST

Hi - so my son has as iPad mini. He's been using if absolutely fine for ages, but this morning he complained that his headphones weren't working. I've checked all the normal stuff - music settings, volume, etc

The sound is really quiet - as in, almost can't hear it.

What;s odd, is different headphones in the iPad are fine, and those headphones are fine on my phone!

    Any ideas?

ISO iPad photo booth app with long-form caption ability

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 12:17 PM PST

I'm looking for an event photo booth app that will allow the user to take the image and write their own caption. It's for a museum exhibit, so the user would take an image, be able to write about it then post to social media or print. Any suggestions?

[Suggestions]Fast charging PowerBank options for iPad pro

    Posted: 17 Feb 2018 08:45 PM PST

I've recently decided to up my speed of charging of IPad 12.9 (1st Gen:supports fast charging just like 2nd Gen) and did my research and instead of spending ~ $100 over 29w apple charger and prosperity cable. I've decided to go with Aliexpress solution. They will get to me in couple weeks time. Here's what I have planned:

    1. (~$52)Aukey PowerBank "PB-Y7" 30000mah: y7 is only model that supports 14.5V@2A current. And should fast charge my iPad pro on the go atleast 2 times minimum. Powerbank it self takes 4 hrs to be charged using USB PD with 29W capacity, so I had to order a 29w charger aswell. And this is where I found my other 2 products.

    2. (~$17)Macdodo 29W charger (supports 14.5@2A) over usb-c PD. This charger (any other USB charger with 14.5@2A current) can super charge PowerBank in less than 4 hrs I'm expecting to fully charge my PowerBank(based on reviews) in 3 hrs using iPad charger and this one in conjunction.

    3. (~$5)USB-C to lightening cable: I've heard people say that only apple ones work on various forums, after the advent of iphone 8 there have been various Aliexpress sellers showing excellent encouraging reviews of fast charging iphone8/iPads 12.9 using apple chargers and these cables (3rd party solution like macdodo, USMAS, PZOZ, etc.) They only cost $5 @1% per minute using 29w apple charger.

All three will be around $75. And with this I will get powerbank that can fast charge iPad at max speed and atleast 2 times from 0% battery. While,I can fully rejuvenate my PowerBank in 2.5hrs and at the sametime. This will also give me ability to fully charge iPad in 2hrs.

But all of this is based on my research over forums and retailers and reviewers.i will give my personal experience once I have these goods with me.

For Source of 14.5V@2A magic number check iPad settings-->General-->Regularory

Whats your experience with any of the above mentioned devices if any?

Looking to upgrade from iPad 4

    Posted: 17 Feb 2018 06:04 PM PST

Best Buy currently has the pro 10.5" on sale for $550 and the "latest model" ipad for $279. I mainly just use my current one for cheesy games, Reddit, Facebook, browsing the web, etc. would the Pro be worth the extra money to me or just a waste? The split screen feature looks really neat but I don't know that that is worth an extra $300 to me.

How does iOS 11 perform on the 5th Gen iPad (2017)?

    Posted: 17 Feb 2018 04:20 PM PST

I bought the iPad (2017) before iOS 11 was released so I still have it on 10.3.3. How is performance on iOS 11? I know iOS 11 went through a lot of backlash at launch with many minor updates released. How does it run now on the 2017 iPad?

I heard the new multitasking features have been praised but some still like the way iOS 10 ran on it. How is it speed wise compared to iOS 10. Most importantly how is battery life? My iPad on 10.3.3 gets over 15 hours usage and 200hr standby which is excellent. I'm very afraid to take a hit in battery if I update. Plus the A9 chip is already over 2 years old and I would not make any compromises if iOS 11 sucks. I'd stay on iOS 10 forever if my iPad stayed performing this good.

Please help me decide guys! Thanks!
