Congratulations YouTube, you almost made me report a clip I tried to like Posted: 18 Feb 2018 01:37 PM PST The controls of the new app are SO imprecise that I did not manage to click the like button (one of the few new features I was actually missing in the old version) but pressed report instead. Gladly you can't really report from the app, you have to use a browser for this 🤨 God this update is awful... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2018 07:52 PM PST It would be ideal if HomePod was a "permanent" Bluetooth speaker and airplay device always connected to the Apple TV without having to specify as such in settings. Essentially this is just allowing more than one audio output for the Apple TV, so that I can play sound through my receiver and HomePod simultaneously while still maintaining voice control from the HomePod. Posted: 18 Feb 2018 05:46 AM PST Over the last few days whenever I try to open the App Store the "Welcome to the App Store" screen comes up with a "continue" button. I can press that button but can't get pass that screen. At first I thought it was a network issue so I tried to connect Apple TV via ethernet and wireless over different Wi-Fi networks but always the same problem. Is any one else experiencing this? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2018 01:06 PM PST My AppleTV 4K has started having trouble finding my server. The ATV is connected via ethernet, and the server via my 5g wireless. This has never been an issue before. I did change modem/routers, but can't remember if I have watched Plex between now and then. Are there any settings I might need to adjust on a new router? The thing is, it will eventually connect to my server, and I can't figure out if there's anything I'm doing to make that happen. I can bring plex up on my phone (connected to the 5g) and on the server machine itself (also 5g) via the web. So, it's not like it absolutely won't connect, it just takes many many tries. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2018 01:46 PM PST Hi guys, I'm looking to get an Apple TV 4k box to mirror my Macbook Air's screen. I'll mostly be using it to mirror films/games and sports streams playing on my macbook and I was wondering how 'lag' free airplay is? We're on fibre optic internet here. Any information would be much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Questions about content variable quality and “broken” navigation... Posted: 18 Feb 2018 10:36 AM PST Some time ago I bought the set of "Curb Your Enthusiasm seasons 1 to 8" on the Apple store. Since I bought that box set another series has been released, and the "seasons 1-8" box set has been replaced by a "seasons 1-9" box set in the store. After a bit of a gap, I've finally started watching it on my new ATV 4K. I have two problems. 1) The ATV will not go to my purchased content before it goes to the Apple content store. So if I've watched an episode of the series and the next time I turn on my ATV it says "watch next episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm...", this takes me not to my purchased content but to the unpurchased version in the store. This is massively painful for a user. I have to: note down what episode I want; navigate to my purchases; find the show; then scroll right about fifty times to get to the show I want (I'm in the fifth series) before I can finally watch my own content. Are there any fixes for this? It seems like a huge usability bug that Apple have here. In what circumstance might I ever want to go to the store in preference to my owned content? 2) The content quality is not just "variable" but downright wrong. Literally there are 4:3 SD episodes followed by a 16:9 HD episode followed by another SD episode. It's difficult or even impossible to see the details of each episode before I bought it but if I'd realised that episodes were randomly HD or SD and randomly 16:9 or 4:3 I might not have bought the content, it's so inconsistent. I thought I bought eight seasons of HD 16:9 content. Is it usual to have such mixed content in a box set or has something gone wrong in my case? I haven't contacted Apple yet but if the season 1-9 set has more consistent format episodes I wouldn't be against paying some money to upgrade. Does anyone have any experience of this kind of format weirdness and resolving it? [link] [comments] |
iTunes 4k movies with ultrawide monitor Posted: 18 Feb 2018 07:01 AM PST Does it still play as 4k movies or it will scale down to 1080p? Cause my monitor is dell u3818dw and the resolution is 3840*1600, which isn't a regular 4k monitor. [link] [comments] |
