Best case/cover to protect my new Mac? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 08:12 PM PST I just bought a MacBook Air on sale! I am psyched and want to keep it nice. There are a myriad of choices online for cases, rubber and hard plastic covers, screen and keyboard protectors. I am curious what accessories have been deemed useful/necessary and where I can find the best prices. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:55 PM PST I'm about to buy my very first MacBook. The only thing is that I'm a student and don't have a lot of money. Which is why I don't have any problem with buying a MacBook that is a few years old. Is there anything I should think about before making a purchase? [link] [comments]
How to check for viruses / best FREE software? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 06:13 AM PST I've looked on Google and YouTube and can't seem to figure out how to run a systems check to see if I have any viruses... how do I do it? Also.. what is the best free software to remove them? [link] [comments]
Reset my password for the login screen, can I retrieve my safari autofill passwords, keychain, etc? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 11:51 AM PST I joined the MacOs community a few weeks ago so I'm still very new to this and I had a question. This morning I tried to login into my MacBook as I always do but the password wasn't working for some reason. Long story short, I reset the password using my Apple ID credentials and everything is gravy, I'm back in my laptop. But I just realized all my safari autofill passwords and usernames, keychain passwords, etc, are all gone. Is there any way to retrieve them again, or am I shit out of luck? If it makes any difference, all the passwords and autofill's still work on my iPhone. [link] [comments]

[HELP] Disable Boot-Up Upon Opening Lid Posted: 24 Feb 2018 02:21 AM PST I just got a brand-new 13" MacBook Pro (2017) and I already noticed that whenever I open its' lid it automatically boots up. Now don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of Apple knowing that whenever we open the MacBook we basically would like it to turn on. But I like to clean my laptops, and I prefer doing so while it's off. So my question, how do we disable this feature? I did a quick research and I saw that it involves Terminal, plus the comments weren't pleasing.. People saying that their MacBook won't boot up instead, or their MacBook just shows black screen instead, yada yada.. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:28 AM PST I'm a photographer and i got my self a MacBook Air I've had it for quite a while but I never had to use my photos for printing. So I transfer my cameras photos to iPhoto in my Mac but when I have to take the photo out for usage some photos degrade automatically in the quality. For instance if a photo is of 6 mb it automatically becomes 800 kB but in my photos it shows 6mb when I click on get info. So I have to manually do it through preview, which is a lot of trouble. I've tried the online solutions I even spoke to apple care and the person told me to manually retrieve each file through masters which again is a very long process. It doesn't happen with my other friends who are photographers and use a Mac So please if you know a solution, I'd really appreciate it. [link] [comments]
