Developer Abraham Masri released a bug today that can cause freezing and resprings if sent using iMessage:

Pretty similar to the "effective power" bug that went around last year.

Using one usb hard drive for TimeMachine backups of 2 different Macs

    Posted: 16 Jan 2018 10:50 AM PST

Is it possible to use the same drive to store time machine backups of two different MacBook? I and my gf both own a MacBook Pro (15 inch 256gb and 13inch 128gb respectively) and I wanted to use one 1tb hard drive to store both of our time machine backups. Can I run into issues? Thanks

I've been seeing that firefox is pretty useful, but how's it battery-wise? I have chrome as well but I know that that's a resource hog. Currently using safari 9.1.3

    Rotate quicktime bar

    Posted: 16 Jan 2018 07:47 AM PST

Hi! Is there a way to rotate the quicktime control bar? I'm asking this because when I'm watching a movie/video inside a small window, the control bar tends to disturb and obscure almost a 50% of the image area. I remember that years ago I managed to rotate the control bar about 90°, putting it in vertical mode and on the left side of the frame. Any help/suggestion? Thanks

How can I change the macOS Sierra system font?

    Posted: 16 Jan 2018 03:14 PM PST

    Hello!

I'm trying out a couple of things, and I was wondering is there anyway to change the system font in macOS Sierra to, for example, Helvetica Neue or something cooler?

    I appreciate all answers,

    Thank you!

iTunes Volume - smaller increments ?

    Posted: 16 Jan 2018 07:26 AM PST

When listening to speech, I like having background music.

Unfortunately, with iTunes, I can't get the music low/soft enough: silent - next step already too loud.

Master Volume can be adjusted in quarter steps (shift+option+volume); is there a trick for iTunes also?

For now, I'm using VLC, where volume can be adjusted very finely - but all my library is in iTunes ... :(

Shortcut CMD + Z thru M not working on High Sierra

    Posted: 16 Jan 2018 05:43 AM PST

Basically title. CMD + Q, W... thru L work. The two first rows of letters work fine. Simply not the bottom row of letters on the keyboard. When I CMD + Z for example, it acts as if I press Z alone. I can however copy paste via the RMB menu, but it's definitely not as intuitive as the keyboard shortcuts.

I'm not too familiar with Mac products, so I'll list what I think is relevant: using macOS High Sierra, v 10.13.1 and it's listed as being a Mac mini (Late 2014).

I've tried the rebooting/unplug fix and the clearing cache fix via terminal multiple times and resetting defaults in the Shorcuts tab of the System Preferences interface, without success. It's a work computer and I can't reinstall the OS. Any suggestions?

Edit 1: Only the left CMD key seems to have this issues. Every key works fine with the right CMD key.

    Logged in without password

Today my 10.13.2 let me in without password. It hasn't even displayed a prompt. After I've turned it on it displayed the progress bar for a while and then served me with desktop:( They've really screwed up authentication in this one:(
