Video Players and Battery Life? Posted: 27 Jan 2018 01:19 PM PST Hello, I have a couple of questions about video players for the iPad and battery life. 1) I read the native Video player is the best for battery life because it uses the GPU rather than the CPU, which other video players use. Is this true? 2) Does enabling the option to remember the playback position of a video decrease battery life? How does the iPad remember where to playback from? Thanks! :) [link] [comments]

The iPad Pro is nice, questions Posted: 27 Jan 2018 10:14 AM PST I've been mostly a laptop user most of my life. But I really enjoy using the iPad Pro with the keyboard. The iPad Pro is my very first apple product. The iPad itself is very small, nice and compact, has IOS 11 witch can open up split screen with two applications, and can also run Netflix at the same time. I also like the fact that the Retina display beats a lot of the screens in terms of picture quality on laptops. I don't see myself using a laptop that much anymore. So my question is, how soon will we be seeing another item like an iPad Pro this year coming out from apple? [link] [comments]
How to force Reddit to use desktop version on iPad? Posted: 27 Jan 2018 01:54 PM PST Reddit recently started loading the mobile version of Reddit when using my iPad. How do I go back to the desktop version? [link] [comments]
Why doesn’t the Apple Pencil work with up/down swipes for dock and notifications? Posted: 27 Jan 2018 11:35 AM PST As the title asks, why can't we use the Apple Pencil to pull up the dock/control center or a swipe down with the Pencil pull up your notifications on the lock screen? Am I missing a setting or something? As is there is no way to navigate the device using only the pencil, which just seems really stupid and short sided. [link] [comments]
Why can't I use my phone SIM card in my iPads? Posted: 27 Jan 2018 11:46 AM PST I have a few unlimited lines. I tried to put one in my iPad Pro 12.9, it gets a connection but I can't browse anything as it says I need a tablet specific sim? Is there something the carrier is detecting. [link] [comments]

People always ask what you do with your iPad, well here is one cool thing I do along with Firefox Posted: 27 Jan 2018 02:05 PM PST So, I have a computer repair shop. I often look stuff up on my Macbook Air, then find the Terminal command, lets say, to fix the issue, but then the computer I am fixing is on the other side of the room. I try to remember the command, but yeah, that does not go too well, especially if it not something I have done before, or the command is huge, etc. It is a pain in the ass to unhook my MBAir from my big monitor, unplug the MagSafe, and carry it to the computer I am fixing. Until yesterday my battery was so bad that it could conceivably just shut my Air off too. So anyway, this is where having a Firefox account is so cool. Log into your Firefox account on the iPhone and iPad and your main computer, or all computers, or whatever, just log in. Then on the tab that has the Terminal command, or anything else I need to read to fix a computer, I can right click and choose Send to Device>iPad Pro. Now I can just walk around the shop with the iPad but be reading all the stuff I found about the issue on the Macbook Air (or Mac Mini or one of like 4 iMacs, but the Air is main rig right now). Also, sometimes I may be out at the bar or whatever and not have my MBAir. Then I feel like going to the shop at 11pm for some reason I still can't figure out. So I go to the shop, go on the Mac Mini or my older MBPro, and just log into Firefox and all the tabs from the Air are there and I can just work like I have the MBAir . Pretty cool stuff. I always wanted to just walk around the shop with the iPad, like my shop was a starship or something, and now I do. I am still hesitant about using the iPad Pro as a sign in device for the clients. Like I could have my sign in sheet in as a .pdf and have them fill it out and sign it with the Apple Pencil. The thing is, I don't want a bunch of jackasses poking at my almost $1000 iPad Pro, and I can just imagine someone just picking up a normal pen and trying to write on it, or just dropping it, or their annoying kids grabbing it and getting their little becheeto'd fingers all over it. Also, I am planning on using Duet Display to use the iPad as a second monitor for my Garage Band iMac. I am using a cheapo USB monitor with it now to like drag the peddle board down to the second screen. It is fine really but if I could use the effect pedals with a touchscreen, that would be sweet. Too bad I don't have the money to get the big iPad Pro to use as the second screen. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Jan 2018 04:27 PM PST I'm looking to get an iPad to replace my nexus 9. What is the current difference in performance between the iPad and the Ipad pro for gaming? Would I notice it or do most games not really max out the ipad 9.7? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Jan 2018 04:25 PM PST Anyone switched from 1gen to 2gen? If yes, do you recommend the upgrade considering the price difference (especially for 2nd hand devices)? [link] [comments]
iPad Pro (2nd gen) warranty expired? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 09:21 PM PST Hi all, Bought a second hand iPad Pro 12.9 off eBay recently. Everything came in good shape. However, I noticed that the warranty on this iPad is expired when I check its warranty status. This iPad was released in June 2017, so I figured it should still be covered by the standard 1 year warranty. What gives? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
