2017 mbp -> plugable thunderbolt 3 dock -> hdmi-> 4 year old samsung tv not working Posted: 17 Jan 2018 07:04 PM PST I've recently gotten a 2017 mbp and am trying to set up another monitor. I'm currently using the plugable thunderbolt 3 dock for the external monitor and keyboard and mouse. I used the included display port to HDMI adapter in the back of the dock and plugged the HDMI into a 3 or 4 year old Samsung tv. The tv does not recognize that anything is plugged in. Is this a problem with connecting to a tv or using HDMI? I have an acer computer monitor that I can test but won't be able to test that one for a couple days. I'm also using a wireless mouse and it is very laggy when I have the display plugged in but any lag goes away when I unplug the display. What can be done to fix that? Any help I could get on the connecting to the tv issue would be much appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments]

iMessage/Messages Message Could Not Be Sent error when attempting to use share menu Posted: 17 Jan 2018 04:07 PM PST Whenever I attempt to send a message from the share menu in Reddit, some other third party apps and Photos on my Apple devices, I sometimes receive "Your message to [contact's name] could not be sent." I looked around online and they recommend resetting network settings, turning off Messages on all devices and logging out of iMessage on my MacBook Pro, wait a few minutes, then log back in by sequence starting with my MacBook. It temporarily fixes the problem, but it happens again. Does anyone know how to rid myself of this annoying bug, or is it something that will have to be resolved through future iOS 11 updates? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
How to hook two monitors and a charger into a single USB-C port? Posted: 17 Jan 2018 10:22 AM PST What is the best (and possibly the cheapest) way to hook up 2 Dell monitors (S2715H) and a charger into a 2017 Macbook 12" Retina that has only a single USB-C port? The monitors need to extend the display, as in, I want to use them as separate devices and see different things on each monitor. This is being ridiculously difficult. I already own a proprietary hub that has one USB-C (for charging), 1 HDMI, and one USB-3, which works great for one external monitor. Any help on this would be awesome! [link] [comments]

Anybody using a 2016 12” Macbook with a 4k60 display through DisplayPort and also have power? Posted: 17 Jan 2018 08:53 AM PST From what I understand, Sierra and above should support this, but I'd like to find evidence of somebody actually doing it. The main issue I'm having is I can't see to find a hub that can ad more USB c ports and from what I can gather, it seems like putting a hub between the internal USB-c port and the USB-c to DisplayPort cable will result in only between able to achieve 30hz [link] [comments]
