MacOS 10.14 (or 11??) Wishlist Posted: 08 Dec 2017 04:09 PM PST What do you want to see in the next major update? One thing I want is the snap-style window management feature from Windows 10 (there's some nice third party options right now but none are as robust as Microsoft's offering). More powerful share button would be nice (like in iOS) where we can share to things like Messenger/WhatsApp/etc or even Google Drive/Outlook instead of just a handful of Apple services. Auto Re-login WiFi MacOS and Cisco Guest Wireless Posted: 09 Dec 2017 12:21 AM PST So, I got a client who has their WiFi set to needing a login via a captive portal after connecting, problem is they set to re-authenticate every 2 hours (not great for an 8 hour+ work day.) Is there any way to have mac auto fill in the captive portal details once it senses the need to reenter the details? [link] [comments] |
"Some updates were not installed automatically." Cannot update to 10.13.2... Posted: 08 Dec 2017 08:23 PM PST The update shows up in App store and I can download it normally, my mac reboots normally but after the installation process, it's still in 10.13.1 and App Store prompts "Some updates were not installed automatically". I deleted the update package and used Terminal to install it manually, the same thing happens, I'm stuck in 10.13.1. What should I do in this situation? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Help Three Finger swipe-up for mission control/open windows not working Posted: 08 Dec 2017 10:49 PM PST MBP 13' 2015 Bit the bullet and upgraded to High Sierra and the gesture for three finger swipe-up that showed me all of my open applications is not working. I went into System Preferences-Accessibility-Mouse & Trackpad-Enable Dragging-Three Finger Drag. All the does is highlights the words on webpages. All I want to do is quickly switch between spotify, chrome, and final cut without having to individually minimize each tab and use the dock on the bottom. Any help is appreciated [link] [comments] |

Mac OS Sierra v10.12.6's Photos app's import issues... Posted: 08 Dec 2017 08:04 PM PST Hello. I have a few questions on updated Mac OS Sierra v10.12.6's Photos app's import issues:
Thank you in advance. :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Dec 2017 07:51 AM PST By default Preview still shows images scaled up. To see the true resolution, always save your photos by changing from 72dpi to 144dpi in the output settings of your software of choice (or by editing in Preview itself). This change has no effect on quality, file size or resolution, just the way macOS displays the file. If you are saving with the intent of printing, then you should already know what dpi to specify and this does not apply to you. [link] [comments] |
Where is all my system storage? Posted: 08 Dec 2017 11:21 AM PST Just a quick question, but where is my 127.7gb of data going on my MacBook, I have looked every where but can't find it ..... [link] [comments] |
Update causes trouble in mail app Posted: 08 Dec 2017 09:15 AM PST I recently updated to 10.13.2. The mail app now annoys me, as the notification sound plays and then after some 10 seconds the mail notification shows up. [link] [comments] |
Best MacOS version for 2015 MacBook Pro? Posted: 08 Dec 2017 11:04 AM PST As the title says, what is the best MacOS version for 2015 MacBook Pro performance wise? Currently I am on High Sierra before the 10.13.2 update, as I saw in this subreddit it looks like the worst update of MacOS ever. Wanna do a clean install, what do you recommend? [link] [comments] |
Preview crashes instantly if you search "a" in a searchable PDF. Posted: 08 Dec 2017 11:16 AM PST If you have a PDF with text that is searchable, type in the letter "a" and see what happens. I discovered this bug right after updating to 10.13.2 and reported it to Apple. Also enabling full screen mode will make the tool bar glitch which is a welcome change. These two bugs go well with the one i discovered a couple of weeks ago. I really miss the stable versions of Preview but it seems like Apple doesn't care anymore. What are some good replacements for Preview? [link] [comments] |
