| Posted: 03 Oct 2017 07:02 AM PDT The iPad Pros (iPads Pro?) got updated this past June, with the 120Hz display and the A10X chip being my favourite features. However, the new A11 Bionic in the new iPhones is blazingly fast. When would the iPads get updated? I can get the cellular one for $700 (offer) and the WiFi only model for $630. EDIT: I ended up getting the cellular model because I was afraid the price might increase soon. | Posted: 03 Oct 2017 11:50 AM PDT Hi, I bought an iPad about 4 weeks ago and almost instantly updated it to iOS 11, so I have no idea if this is iOS 11 related or something with my iPad, since I've discovered that others here have a similar problem. Sometimes when I connect the iPads (original) charger, the display tells me it's charging, when in fact it's not, because overnight there's no progress but it lost a couple of percent. I know that the cable is connected properly and it will eventually charge if I put it back in. This is so annoying when travelling the next day just to see your iPad didn't charge overnight. Is there any info if this could be a hardware problem? If not, is it a known (as in it's going to get fixed) bug? [link] [comments]  | ||
| iPad iOS 11 Dock - Recent Apps, gone for life?! Posted: 03 Oct 2017 04:59 AM PDT I need help, on the new iOS 11 there's this new dock on iPads. For those who are using it, you will have noticed there are these recent apps on the right of the dock. Now, when I was re-organising my app layouts I decided to press the "-" on the 3 apps that was there thinking it will just get rid of it for now (out of sight). However I have noticed that a few apps don't show up on the recent's app anymore. The thing is, the 3 apps that I pressed "-" for, I can't remember so I'm not sure if the app is no longer showing on the recent's dock because "-" meant "never show in the recent's dock" or if it's just the app itself? The most noticeable app is Safari, when I open Safari and close it, it doesn't show up in the recents dock, even if I've been using Safari for the past 30 minutes or so. I tried going into settings and turning the "Show suggested and recent apps" setting off and back on. Still no luck. Your help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. [link] [comments]  | ||

| iPad Pro 10.5 arrives tomorrow!! Posted: 03 Oct 2017 11:29 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm super excited for my 64GB iPad Pro 10.5 (Cellular + WiFi) to arrive tomorrow. I wanted to ask you guys for app recommendations and whether I should update to iOS 11 right now or wait for a few days. I will be using the iPad for A LOT of multimedia consumption (movies, TV shows, music) as well as browsing the internet and playing games. I'll be using it for my studies when my university course begins next month. I download movies and TV shows (torrents) to my laptop a lot of the time so I was wondering which is the best app to play those video files on the iPad? Also, what's the easiest and quickest method of transferring them to the iPad? Thanks! | iPad Pro 10.5 battery problems? Notability draining my battery Posted: 03 Oct 2017 03:35 AM PDT I took my iPad to University last week, and during each 2 hour lecture I had, I had notability open for the entire 2 hours and it would use probably 2 or 3% battery life in this time. Yesterday, my iPad would go from 100% to 96% in the space of around 45 minutes, after 8 hours use approximately it was on 55% and this was all from notability, again, last week I got home and I was on around 80%... Today I just opened my notes for 20 minutes and it has gone from 100% down to 94%, what on earth is going on? The only thing that has changed is the fact I am using 11.0.1 now instead of just 11.0.0 which I used last week, but can this really have changed any settings to cause me to get terrible battery now? Anyone got any ideas? I'm assuming notability shouldn't be using THIS much power, I'd hate to see what Netflix or something would do to it.. [link] [comments]  | ||

Just need an in depth explanation on how these work and the differences between them before buying either one of them. 1 ) I read around that OTG devices only allow the transfer of Pictures and Videos, is that true? 2) Conntected to #1 Does that mean that i cannot transfer doc, excel, and other types of files? 3) Does the OTG device need a specific app made by its manufacturer or do all OTG specific apps are able to open any OTG device? 4) Will i be able to connect a regular USB storage device thru the lightning to USB 3 camera adapter to move files around as if it were an OTG device? | Posted: 03 Oct 2017 08:34 AM PDT First world problem...I am getting a free 12.9 iPad Pro (2nd Gen). I already have a 9.7 pro. and smart keyboard. Trying to decide between: (1) keep the 9.7, and swap the 12.9 for store credit and get a new Apple Watch (I have a series 0 SS); (2) Swap the 12.9 for a 10.5 and smart keyboard, sell the 9.7 and smart keyboard (and probably get a Series 3 watch); (3) keep the 12.9, buy a smart keyboard, and sell the 9.7 and smart keyboard; (4) keep both, leave the 9.7 by my bed for the casual use, and the 12.9 for all other uses and kind of a laptop replacement. I don't draw. Other than surfing the web and watching movies, I use it sometimes for drafting documents (lawyer). I always thought I would like to use it for editing documents using the apple pencil, but generally found doing that and taking notes on the 9.7 more of a pain than its worth. So, questions:
