    Is anyone else having problems with getting Apple Watch/iPhone authentication for purchases on Apple TV to work?

    Even before tvOS 15.4 today, there's supposed to be the option to use Touch ID/Face ID on an iOS device to confirm a purchase or sign into an app on Apple TV. 15.4 added the ability to authenticate purchases with Apple Watch, even better. And yet my ATV doesn't detect my iPhone or watch nearby so this feature doesn't work at all. Of the tens of times I've tried to purchase movies to buy/rent, only once or twice has it actually worked. Am I doing something wrong? I'd really like to have this feature work, it's very convenient, or it would be…

    Edit: I figured it out for anyone else that has this problem. Apple device authentication for purchases is only available through the Apple TV app, not iTunes movies and iTunes tv apps. And watchOS 8.5 is needed to use the watch for verification.

    Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place for this question. I've recently been trying to build up a movie catalogue and I know doing it through Apple is fairly easy and works well. Im struggling to find information on the ownership of the movies bought on Apple.

    For ex. If I was to buy a bunch of movies on the Apple TV store on my Mac. Would those files be on my laptop? Or am I just buying the ability to stream it? Could I transfer them onto a hard drive and have the files/play them with another media player other than apple tv??

    If not Apple is there any service that gives you this option?

    Am I really buying or owning the content if this isn't possible?

    I want to take the legal route with this. I don't mind paying for my content and I'm not looking to sell or distribute the files. I just want to be able to have it available offline and accessible on all my devices.

    The idea of a digital collection is so great because I don't really want to have a big collection of physical media either (trying to be eco friendly and have no space).

    TDLR: When I buy movies from the Apple TV app on my mac, do I own the files? Can I move the files to other places (like a hard drive) and play them offline or with other media players? (like VLC on a PC or Xbox) Are there other options?

    Syncing Watch Now Between AppleTV 4k and Mac Mini

    I've been using the Apple TV app on my 4k AppleTV for a couple years, I love it for when new episodes of shows premier I can launch the ep through the Up Next under the Watch Now section. I have a list of shows that are currently in the Up Next portion on my Apple TV 4K.

    I just got an M1 Mac Mini this weekend and have it all set up. I went to use the Apple TV app and found it to be missing a lot of my shows in the Up Next section under Watch Now. I've gone to the Search function and typed in the show and it popped up and said In Up Next, and I haven't watched the episode yet, but it won't show up in the Up Next section. Some shows are, but it's just for the AppleTV+ shows or some I have on Paramout+ through the Apple Channels.

    Is there a way to get the two to sync up for shows that are on Peacock, HBO Max, Amazon, etc?

    I did download the HBOMax and Amazon apps on the Mac mini, but it still won't match up.

    Also, I noticed that the Reacher tv show won't show up when I go to search for it under TV shows on the Apple TV app for my Mac, but it works fine on the AppleTV 4k.

    No fan noise and box moderately warm?

    Hey everyone just bought the latest Apple TV 4K with 64 gb of storage and I absolutely fell in love with it but I'm slightly concerned about not hearing any fan noise at all and the device being warm at touch. Is this normal? If it was a computer I'd worry that the fan is broken, but I never owned a TV Box before so I don't know what behavior to expect. Is the fan so silent that I can't hear it and is it normal for the box to be warm?

    Is there an app that can play two YouTube videos at once? I like create my own ambient sounds using a combination of videos but while easy on my PC, the AppleTV proves difficult.

    Is there a current list of apps that truly supports PiP?

    Hey all, I just migrated from the Firestick to Apple TV. I'm loving it. However I'm a bit confused on PiP. I see the Apple TV app supports it. But I'm struggling to find any other app that also supports this. Is there any sort of list for apps which supports PiP?

    I've done some searching myself but the results are really muddied with PiP on iOS.

    Should I use RGB or YCCRB on Apple 4k TV 2021 with LG C1 OLED TV?

    I wanted to see what display setting should I put my Apple 4k tv on. I ask this because I currently have a LG C1 and I wanted the best possible picture. Any advice or suggestions will much appreciated.

    I see that ycbcr gives me chroma 4.4.4

    Where rgb does not.

    All of my movies have become unplayable after switching regions except for one, possible explanations?

    Hey. I know this is quite a silly/complicated situation, but hear me out. I have included a TL;DR at the end.

    I am from Europe. I bought the 4K Blu-Rays of the Indiana Jones movies from America.

    Since I couldn't redeem the digital codes included with the set in my country, I set up an American iTunes account specifically for these films.

    However, now I have decided to switch to my actual country of residence. And now I can't play these films.

    Is it normal? Have I permanently lost them? If I switched back to America, would I get them back?

    But here's the weird thing. I can still watch Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I cannot play any of the other 3 movies. But I can still play the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It plays back absolutely fine in 4K/Dolby Vision. Why have I lost access to the other movies I redeemed, but not this particular one? I am not using any device, just streaming via the built in TV app.

    TL;DR I bought some Blu-Rays from America, and redeemed the digital codes via a proxy American account. I have switched to my country, and now I can't play any of them except for one.
