- Reinstalling Mac os. Prompt appears after signing in with apple id. Can't move forward
- My iPad Pro fell out of its case today, it fell onto concrete which has pushed the power button in. Is there anything I can do to fix this myself? (I don’t have Apple care anymore)

Every 'known' third party keyboard I've used works bad on iPhone. Swiftkey keeps glitching every few seconds, the exact same for Gboard. Fleksy doesn't support Apple anymore. I haven't tried others but I wonder if you guys have any alternatives that work just fine on iPhones I absolutely despise the normal Apple keyboard, so I would like to have some suggestions on other keyboards available. | MBA 11” A1465 - no MagSafe light - not charging, but powers on Posted: 14 Mar 2022 08:05 AM PDT Wondering if anyone can help - I spilt some water on my MBA a while back, which resulted in no power. I took it to a repair centre who said the logic board was dead So recently, I decided to open it up myself, - visual inspection under light = no corrosion on the logic board itself (even under the SMC chip) however there was some light corrosion on the IO board - so I cleaned both up with Isopropyl and a toothbrush Weirdly at this point, it only powered on when the battery was disconnected, but with no MagSafe light. I replaced the MagSafe IO board, and put a new battery in - now the MacBook powers on with battery and also charger and works like normal However, there is still no light on the MagSafe and coconutbattery says "0 watts discharging" and battery status says "plugged in but not charging" I have inspected the IO flex cable from the DC board, and it appears some of the pins are burnt slightly - I've cleaned this but still not working - could this flex cable be the issue? I've already try NVRAM / SMC resets to no avail Any help appreciated! [link] [comments] |

| Mac randomly dropping multiple displays Posted: 14 Mar 2022 07:49 AM PDT I'm on a 2019 Mac Pro tower. Currently on Big Sur but in process of updating to Monterey in hopes that that addresses the issue. I'm having issues with displays randomly cutting in and out. I have two monitors plugged in via the Thunderbolt ports on the graphics card and one monitor plugged in (HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter) on one of the other ports. It makes no difference if I try to go into the HDMI port on the graphics card. In fact, shuffling around between ports generally seems to make little difference. The issue I'm having is my computer seems to boot fine into using three displays. I get logged in and three come up. But if any monitor goes offline (I bump a display cord), or even if I log out and put the Mac to sleep, when I open it again one monitor goes to sleep with no input and there is nothing I've been able to do to get all three to come back. Plugging and replugging cords might cause a different combination of two to come on (with little rhyme or reason to which one "decides" to work) but I have not found a consistent method to get all three to come back on. I'm at wits end trying to diagnose this problem, and I can't keep wasting time restarting my computer every time I lose a display. Getting very very frustrated with this. [link] [comments] |

It is constantly crashing, and tends to heat up like crazy when using multiple applications, discord, VSCode, Trello, slack. If I were to trade it in, I would get about $1,499 which I would put towards an upgrade, and only spend around $700. I want to know if with my situation it sounds like its worth it to make the upgrade. I am constantly getting frustrated with my current computer, but for the most part, there are no issues with speed or anything else. [link] [comments] |
| Forgotten Apple ID after phone was stolen Posted: 14 Mar 2022 07:04 AM PDT So yeah my phone got nicked back in December 2021, and since then I've been trying to log back into my original Apple ID. "Trying" because I've forgotten my password and obviously don't have a trusted device to send a code to (as I tracked it on FMIP to Bulgaria!) I've tried several times to reset it through the iforgot support page but when I'm past the 24hr AND the 2ish week waiting period, there's no change or I'm not contacted on email. Has anyone else had problems like this? I've rung apple support to speak to a real person rather than a bot but he just said I must be doing something wrong and couldn't help further! Posted: 14 Mar 2022 04:49 AM PDT I currently have all 4 ports occupied in my setup and struggle to find a docking station or similar to streamline my wiring a little bit with my screen setup. Details below: My configuration: My Screens: Ports connected: I tried a view different docks ( 1, 2, 3 ) but haven't been really successful in getting my 4 screen setup running when connecting screens to the dock vs directly to the MacBook Pro. Are there some key considerations I am missing in freeing up the connectors on my MacBook through the means of a docking station/dongle or do I simply need to connect directly to the laptop to run my setup?
