Posted: 01 Feb 2022 03:29 AM PST Hello! macOS Monterey - 12.0.1 I have a lot of colleagues who prefer writing 10 small messages instead of 1 long one. Getting a notification for each drives me crazy so I was thinking if there's a way to bundle all notifications in 5 minute intervals. So if someone writes me a text message, the notification would wait for 5 minutes and collect all other notifications on the way. I couldn't find anything online about this. | 2011 Macbook A1278 not updating past Lion Posted: 01 Feb 2022 07:54 AM PST Hello, I have a 2011 Macbook that I got secondhand from a friend. I was trying to upgrade it to High Sierra since this is the newest OS it supports now. However it says Software is up to date when I try to do it from the Apple symbol. None of the OS's downloads show up in the App store. In fact most things in the App Store only load with a question mark. Things I have done: It had no hard drive so I put a new one in. There are no time machine back ups. Have tried internet downloads of previous OS X software's but they download with no image (just the basic hard drive look) and when I install, it happens very fast and upon restart nothing changes with the OS system. When I redownloaded Lion in recovery mode it shows two hard drives, the one I made "Macbook" and another one that says "Untitled" and that it is locked. Could this be why I can't update? Any suggestions for updating completely? Forgot to mention that I made a bootable USB installer for High sierra. It stated it required 10.8 or later and had a grey circle with a slash through it. I love it for its simple design and (until now) speed. Recently, the app takes around 20-30 seconds to open every time, with the beachball being present everytime. I have decluttered my inboxes (since I use multiple e-mail accounts, I thought that might be the issue). Didn't work. Next I unticked every Mail account in the Preferences, so it wouldn't even have to load any messages. No difference. Still painfully slow. I have no idea what the cause for this issue could be. | Screen-Capture doesn't save screenshot files anymore Posted: 01 Feb 2022 07:41 AM PST Since years I always used CMD+SHIFT+4 to perform capturing screens quickly. Suddenly, without any system update, the screenshots are not saved anymore in the target location. I am on macOS Monterey. This is the Screen Capture configuration:
The sreencaptureUI appears and lets me perform the screenshot as usual, the captured image is shown in the top right corner. I cannot figure out what's broken or how to fix. This is the full Console logs, filtering per This is the tail of the filtered Console log:

If I have my AirPod Pros connected to my MBP, and I finish a call and remove the AirPods from my ears, Music will launch. I don't use Music, and don't want it to launch. | TopNotch + Reduce Transparency + = doesn't work :( Posted: 01 Feb 2022 08:55 AM PST So i got the M1 14 - not a fan of the notch but i dont see it if I have the black background (which i always had before) - BUT then i turned on Accessibility --> Reduce Transparency in order to remove transparent windows which is what i also prefer and then the menu bar isn't black anymore which brings back the Notch. Tried the TopNotch app - but it's not helping out - I guess it just adds a custom black line on top of the original wallpaper image. Any thoughts to have best of both worlds? 🥺 I think it has something to do with the Terminal. [link] [comments] | ||

For work she needs a program available on on windows, so I told her parallels would probably be a solution to her problem. My father had a similar problem and it worked (he has a 2017 MacBook Pro). Anyways, she's now facing a problem that during setup of windows the virtual machine can't find any networks to connect to and so it gets stuck there. Any solutions? [link] [comments] | ||

According to Apple support, my only option at this moment is reinstalling macOS, which I don't want to do in the nearest future since this is my main machine for remote work and personal use. I use chrome for my work and safari for my home use and at this moment I use chrome for both. So I would like to ask for a community if there's another option to wipe out all safari settings or reinstall it without system re-install? Maybe somebody has faced a similar problem? Thank you! After this glitching the fn key work for a while, but after half hour it does the same glitching. I have this on MBA M1 2020 from OSX 11 to 12.2. Glitching on all versions I had from november 2020.
