I googled for hours now and I am at my wits end here. I have an iphone X that boots but is locked. The bottom half of the touch screen doesn't respond to touch, conveniently where the on screen keyboard is. My data is in there and my last backup was at least a couple of years ago. My google authenticator is in there as well, and I can't seem to find the recovery codes for it. Here's what I already tried / googled:

Posted: 10 Feb 2022 12:36 AM PST Hi there, I've found messages aren't coming through on any app. WhatsApp / Facebook messenger / Instagram / discord / Reddit. They're not just coming through, the apps just won't open. iMessages and texts seems to work fine. For example, I open WhatsApp and it gets stuck on applying an update, open Facebook messenger and it says 'continue as ((my name))' but the button doesn't do anything. When I go on Instagram messages it shows messages from weeks ago. It's an iPhone 7 and I have the latest OS. I only updated because of this problem. Very strange indeed. I know it's an old device and it's getting slow but I can't afford a new phone just yet. Hoping to fix this. Any advice is super appreciated! Thanks in advance [link] [comments] | ||

I have to clear password data in order to sign out, then sign in to another account. I'm trying to not have to sign out and back into another account every time. | Xs Max screen quit working after screen replacement. Posted: 09 Feb 2022 01:02 PM PST I'm not sure on the ios if I had to guess it's early 14.X as it hasn't worked in a year or so. My wife's screen was replaced at a local pretty reputable shop that has a few sister stores in neighboring cities. Once we got the phone back everything worked fine for awhile. Then all of a sudden sporadically the touch on the screen would stop working if she had it charging. As soon as she unplugged the charger it immediately would start working again. Until one day the touch quit working all together. The shop always closes before I get to it before getting off work so I took it to a store in the city I work in where the gentleman called me back and said the main board was fried and the phone was useless. I could be wrong but my gut feeling is telling me he's incorrect about this and looking for other opinions on it. The phone will come on, go to the Lock Screen and that's it. Nothing registers whatsoever when it comes to touch. Any ideas on what to try next? Anyone think he was right on the board being fried? | Logged out iPhone can't activate due to cloud??? Posted: 09 Feb 2022 12:44 PM PST I had originally asked how to clear my phone of personal data without a factory reset (as a factory reset would break my device): I was given the advice to restore through iTunes. After this broke my device I figured out it was just a fancy way of doing a factory reset, so of course it broke my device. My device is now unable to activate. I went to iWorld, they said they don't fix phones and sent me somewhere else. After attempting multiple methods to fix my phone, they finally called me up today. They said they believe the problem is the cloud. Something in the cloud on my account is causing my phone to not work. I explained how I was logged out of my account on that phone, but they said it was still connected to the cloud. I didn't really understand what he meant. He said if I looked at find my phone that my phone would still be there. After the call I checked, it wasn't. I'm a bit hesitant to ask for advice here, given the advice I got the first time made my situation a million times worse, but hey, it can't get worse from here. I was really confused after the call. He said "goodbye" and hung up while I was still trying to process what he said. Any advice here? Is my phone just dead? I assume the tech wants money from me, and that if I chase this down further more people will just want more money from me? It's unfortunate because prior to asking for advice my phone actually worked, and now it doesn't. A whole lot of time and frustration just to end up breaking my phone completely... | HELP! IPHONE 12 RANDOMLY TURNED OFF AND WILL NOT TURN BACK ON!! Posted: 09 Feb 2022 12:04 PM PST My iPhone 12 randomly turned off yesterday and will not turn back on. The battery was more than half charged. I was making a phone call outside with my AirPods connected. Once the call went to voicemail, I pressed my AirPods to end the call. When I looked back at my phone, which was inside my pocket, it was off. I tried the force restart over 50 times with numerous cables. I plugged into my computer and also nothing. I also left it on the fast charger for 16 hours. When I woke up in the morning, still nothing. I have an appointment today at apple to see what is wrong, but I am curious if anyone has any idea what could have caused this. The phone has been working great, the battery has been great and the phone is always updated. Also, I did not have all my information backed onto the cloud due to insufficient cloud storage. I know I should have just spent the .99 per month to have the extra storage but is there any way to recover that information if the phone is bricked. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] | ||
