Urge to switch to Android? Try something new? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 06:23 AM PST Anybody else in the same boat? I find I constantly have the urge to switch from iOS to Android... I'll use Safari, Apple Mail, Calendar, Siri, Apple Music for about six months, but I get a little annoyed with how closed off everything is, like it works with other services but with limitations. Kind of forces you in a way on to Apple services, I like options... Then I start seeing what's new on the Google side, Chrome and Gmail are really good, so is Google Photos. But they don't have a smart watch solution that's decent enough. Then Microsoft Edge is really cool too, I like OneDrive and I game on Xbox so really it makes sense to go all Microsoft. But they don't have much of a smart home presence. I think my problem is I always try to go "all in" on one ecosystem, whereas a balance of everything I like would probably work best for me. I'm sure I can't be the only one dealing with this? [link] [comments] |
Apple Podcast kept downloading new episodes from followed list! Posted: 01 Feb 2022 09:47 AM PST Here are the things I tried to fix this issue, and none of them worked:
Went to set, disabled sync, and auto-downloadd a bug or something? I heard people report on this a couple of years ago now, so is the bug still here!? [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to add Safari any way to that initial share row on YouTube? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 08:09 AM PST Basically the title. I don't that I've never shared any link via those suggested apps. Can they be edit anyway that that I could get safari up there? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2022 10:38 AM PST I have an Apple Watch. Lately when I put my AirPods in, it makes the "connected noise". This makes me think my AirPods are connected. I go to play music on my iPhone and it blares out my iPhone speakers in my quiet office. I have to manually hit the "play to" button and select my AirPods. I am pretty sure my AirPods are connecting to my watch but not my iPhone when I put them in. How do I stop that? Obviously I want them to connect to my phone. [link] [comments] |
Has anyone noticed a change in the markup in Files app? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 06:36 AM PST Before the latest update I could change the fonts and size to anything. Now the list has shrunk to less than helpful choice of three and only a slider for sizes. [link] [comments] |
Focus mode for certain contacts under supports apps Posted: 01 Feb 2022 09:28 AM PST I have been trying out the focus modes on IOS and I am getting a bit confused around apps that say they support it. Take Slack for example, they now say they support focus modes in IOS, does this mean they support setting allowed people to send you slack notifications? Or is it simply auto replies when you do not have slack in the allowed apps. As an example during a "personal" focus mode I only want to receive a message from my boss and no one else through slack, is that possible to configure now or is it a blanket Slack sends notifications or Slack doesn't. I want to shift from Android to iOS Posted: 01 Feb 2022 12:16 PM PST It's my wish to switch to iOS after having been with Android for so long! I want to start with an iPhone 6, 7 or 8. May I know which of these phones has gotten the latest iOS version! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2022 10:57 AM PST Anyone having issues with scrolling on the new update? My apps occasionally freeze up while scrolling and I have to kill the app. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2022 10:57 AM PST Safari is back to being awful. Like during the iOS 15.0 Beta's. It's constantly hanging forcing me to force close it. I'm on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Anyone else experiencing this? [link] [comments] |
iOS 15.3 ”iPhone is unavailable try again in 1 minute” Posted: 01 Feb 2022 07:08 AM PST After upgrading iPhone XR to iOS 15.3 I get a message that randomly says iPhone is unavailable try again in 1 minute [link] [comments] |
Find my Device selection question Posted: 01 Feb 2022 10:16 AM PST Hello, I'd like to be able to toggle between my watch or phone being the source of the Find My location tracking. There are days that I do not wear a watch but it remains being used as my location. The option to select a device seems to be inaccessible. Anyone figure this out? [link] [comments] |
iPhone keyboard predictions in native language Posted: 01 Feb 2022 03:48 AM PST Hi, I switched to my first iPhone after being with Android past 10 years. I love a lot about the iPhone, but the typing experience is really horrible compared to my previous Android phone. I have currently two keyboard languages active. My native language, Norwegian, and English (US). When using the english keyboard It's much much better and I also get predictions. In my native language, Norwegian, I don't get any predictions, but only autocorrect suggestions, once in a while. In other words, it's almost like writing on a keyboard without any predictions and autocorrections. I'm mistyping twice as much as on my Android phone. I also write two times slower. Any suggestions? Is there really not any "predictions" for other languages than english? [link] [comments] |
Links for installed Apps opening in Safari Posted: 01 Feb 2022 08:39 AM PST Every time I try to open a link to something in an app i have installed (Reddit, Twitter etc). Instead of sending me to the app, I am send to a browser-based version of the link. Then, I'm promoted with a message that says things like "Twitter is better in the app", so I select "open in twitter" and the App Store comes up for another selection to open twitter. After I do that, twitter finally opens, but it's not opened to the thing i was originally trying to see through the link. Can links just be set to open directly in the app they correspond to? For example, can i open a twitter link sent through iMessage directly in twitter without having to go through the safari to App Store to twitter process? If not, can i make it so IOS doesn't send me to the App Store? Just straight from safari to the app I'm wanting to open? [link] [comments] |
App opening animation varying? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 08:38 AM PST It's supposed to zoom into apps. But sometimes the animation for me is the app I open swipes in From the right side of the screen. Anyone else? [link] [comments] |
Reset keyboard dictionary isn't resetting the dictionary Posted: 01 Feb 2022 08:23 AM PST I have been trying to reset my dictionary for a few days because of annoying corrections that have saved but it's not working. I've tried probably 10 times all up. Anyone else have this problem or a solution? [link] [comments] |
Can the iPhone 8 camera take better pictures? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 06:38 AM PST Hi, I recently switched from Google Pixel 2 to an iPhone 8. I am very dissatisfied with the quality of the photos. Google got me used to the fact that updates often improve camera functionality (adding a night mode, improving AI, and overall quality). Is there any way to get a little more out of this iPhone's camera? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2022 05:53 AM PST Is it possible to lock specific apps on an iPhone. I like my kids to play Pokémon without the chance of opening other apps like Reddit. [link] [comments] |
