Posted: 13 Feb 2022 06:32 AM PST In 2020 we developed a home screen widget called Dash Dot Dash (–•–). This year we decided to add a new feature: putting photos, images and sketches on your friends' home screens. App Store (iPhone, iPad and Mac): https://apps.apple.com/app/id1533706044 Features: • Privacy: it puts the picture you want to send in your iCloud account and then it shares it with your friend's iCloud account — so the data is stored in iCloud and both iCloud accounts have access to this picture (we have no access to it, it's not stored on our servers). • You can update the picture on your friend's home screen whenever you want (it takes up to 5 minutes for the picture to update on the other device). • Instead of taking a picture, you can sketch something inside the app and share it. • The label under the widget is nearly invisible (just –•–). • Can be also used to create local widgets with photos and notes. • Doesn't need your phone number or access to your contacts like similar apps. • App Store App Privacy: Data Not Collected. [Promo Codes] Looking Glass - Apple Music remote for macOS Posted: 13 Feb 2022 03:21 AM PST Looking Glass - Music RemoteLike many, I didn't really enjoy using the Music app on macOS, and I wanted a faster way to play my library, checking the current playing track and adding it to the library or to a playlist. With Monterey some new APIs made this possible in a simpler way, so I've decided to update one of my older pet projects with these new features. Looking Glass is a simple menu bar app coupled with an optional now playing window that aims to ease your interaction with the Music app (and avoid using it as much as possible). You can summon it from the menu bar button or with a custom keyboard shortcut from whenever your mouse pointer is. Unfortunately since we are still depending on the original Music app, we also inherit some of its bugs; on the plus side we will get for free the improvements Apple will hopefully make in next macOS releases. Anyway, the app works well enough for me, just bear in mind it might not be 100% perfect all the time. If you have issues, restarting it or Music may help.
FeaturesLibrary and catalog searchYou can type to search for tracks, albums, artists and playlists, and click on the menu item that appears to start playing immediately. You can press the ↹ (Tab) key to search in the full Music catalog instead.
Current track detailsAnother very neat feature are the three now playing menu items:
Add to LibraryI've combined this feature into the ❤️ button, so you can quickly love a track and add it to your library. You can enable this option in the Preferences panel. Rating and Add to PlaylistWith the Rate and add... menu you can quickly add tracks to a playlist and rate the current track. The first couple of playlist also have an associated keyboard shortcut, so that you can pick them without using the pointer. PreferencesWith the Preferences panel you can customize the title displayed in the menu bar, its maximum width, the keyboard shortcuts and some behavior settings. There's also an About panel with version and contact informations. Keyboard shortcutsYou can customize several global hotkeys, or leave them blank if you prefer. This is the setup I use with my mechanical keyboard. Mini PlayerThe mini player provides the album cover of the current track and keyboard shortcuts:
LinksIf you like the app, I'd be glad if you could give a nice review! You can also contact me via the Contact menu item under More to send feedback and report bugs. Promo codesThe app is a 0.99/Tier 1 one-time purchase. For today I will also release promo codes in the comments every hour or so, in order to make easier to understand what have been redeemed. I hope you enjoy trying the app! [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||
Posted: 13 Feb 2022 06:46 AM PST Hey r/Apple! Two weeks ago, I released Task Flow - a task manager app that offers innovative features like multi-project tasks, a new My Task Flow concept, and more! 💡 My Task Flow concept. On top of the project structure, you get an endlessly flexible Task Flow view that suits the way you think and work. You select tasks that you're about to do from multiple projects and add them to the My Task Flow. Then, you can create any sections, reorder tasks, just like with any other project. 💡 Multiple projects Tasks. Going on vacation and have a task to 'buy a power bank'? Put it into "Shopping List" and "Vacation" projects. No need to make duplicates and you're more likely to find the task at the right time. ✅ It also has a modern, thoughtful design with List and Board layout. Tasks have priorities, notes, attachments, due dates, and subtasks. And, of course, beautiful home screen widgets. Finally, it has an enhanced Pomodoro timer with a snoozing option. 🖥 Task Flow is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Links:
