Stop IPhone auto playing in car every 3 seconds please I have no where else to turn Posted: 11 Feb 2022 06:48 PM PST I'm only posting here because I've tried 100 solutions on the forums and literally nothing works. Please help me stop my car from auto playing Apple Music every time my phone plugs in. It even plays when I pause a YouTube video (not even leaving the app just pausing will trigger Apple Music to start playing) I don't even use Apple Music, but it was the only way to get my car to recognize my iPhone at all to play Spotify! It wouldn't play Spotify because it tries to auto play music from Apple Music and when there's no songs it says "error no data found" So the only reason I even activated my Apple Music trial is to get around that nonsense. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do when the trial expires…I'm not paying Apple Music just to listen to my Spotify songs. Anyway this entire thing is so frustrating that I'm 2022 it's impossible to just listen to music in the car normally please help. iPhone 12 and 2016 Honda Accord for reference [link] [comments]
I received refurbished AirPods Pro complete with the previous owner's earwax and blood Posted: 11 Feb 2022 10:25 AM PST I had issues with my AirPods Pro, so sent them in to Apple to be repaired. They said my pair was unfixable, so they sent me a "refurbished" pair. The AirPods case pretty much unmistakably has earwax in the AirPods base, both sides, and a fleck of reddish brown matter that might be blood but could be something else. I contacted Apple again. The advisor said that this was "nasty" and that they would send me a brand new pair after I send the gross pair back in. Well, I've sent them back three times now. Each time, the exact same pair is returned with a note saying no issues were found. After the third time sending the gross pair back and Apple returning it to me 5 days later, the agent said they were now authorized to send me a brand new replacement pair. It has been about 2 weeks and I haven't received them. The same agent was supposed to call me back, but did not call back at the scheduled time and has not responded to my direct messages for 5 days now. I'm currently on the line with a different senior advisor who says that the case has been closed. He is going to see what he can do for me, but says it looks like the issue has been resolved. I'm so frustrated by this whole experience. Edit: The Apple rep said we will complete a new return process. I asked him to confirm that the replacement will be a new unit, and he could only say that it will be a "service" unit - not a factory unit. He wasn't able to confirm if it will be in new condition. Here is a link to a picture: https://imgur.com/a/0S51uYn It's not the best quality - I took it quickly because the first rep I spoke with wanted me to send in a picture to prove my description. It was apparently satisfactory to authorize a return. [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Feb 2022 07:13 PM PST It took me a couple of months thinking if I should buy an Airpods, because the bluetooth connection of my previous buds were driving me crazy. The mere convenience of seamless connection among Apple devices were enough to convince me to buy one. But of course I love the other features as well, such as ANC, head tracking and transparency mode. When I first used it, it was so amazing. I find that the ANC was spot on, and the head tracking feature confused my mind whether the sound was coming from the Airpods or directly from the device. Airpods owners probably understand what I'm saying. But then after 3 months of use, I notice the ANC is not that effective anymore and the head tracking is not that accurate anymore as well. I was wondering if this is because of the natural degradation of device through time or whether it is pyschological, i.e. I just get used to it. Or maybe both? What do you guys think? AirPods remain in Find My indefinitely even after pairing with new device Posted: 11 Feb 2022 12:55 PM PST So I went to the Apple Store a few months ago and while I was there I paired my phone to some AirPods Max to try them out. I just realized though that they are still actively showing up in my Find My and are pinging every few minutes with their location when there is no way that they haven't been paired to hundreds or thousands of phones since. This mean that if you register AirPods in Find My then they will always show there even if someone else registers them down the line without knowing. This seems like a decently large security issue if it's consistent. Edit: This isn't a tech support issue. I can remove them if I need to. The issue is that I can still have them connected to my iCloud account and tracking when other people have them registered to their phone. This basically means I can track them with no paper trail. Apple's support infrastructure is a nightmare - here's my story Posted: 11 Feb 2022 10:01 AM PST In the summer of 2017, I bought a Macbook Pro. I always found the keyboard a little uncomfortable to use due to the extremely short move distance of each key, but I got used to it. Fast foward about 4.5 years, and suddenly many of the keys began to stick. I tried the recommended "alcohol q-tip" solution, but it just wasn't working. So finally, I took it into the Apple Store. This is where the nightmare began. First, there was the wait, despite making an appointment. Then, the "Genius" they assigned to my problem took 30 minutes to replace a keycap, and looked shocked and dismayed that I noticed the problem had not actually been fixed. She then quoted me a $478 repair bill if I wanted the actual problem to be fixed. I went to another local repair shop, and they reminded me about the Apple extended replacement for Butterfly Switch keyboards, so I went back. They refused, as did the Apple phone support that I spent hours on the phone with, because the arbitrary 4-year period had expired, and they "could not" make an exception. The next day, I called Apple again, and the guy I spoke to immediately made an exception, and made another appointment for me at the Apple store (my third trip of the week). The wait was long again, particularly after the tech checking my laptop in disappeared for about 45 minutes to retrieve a paper envelope to put the laptop in. But finally, at last, the nightmare was over, right? Nope. The very next day, Apple emailed me to let me know that the repair was suspended, as the repair techs had found another problem affected the machine, and it would have to be fixed. They took a photo to illustrate the problem. The cost for fixing this egregious cosmetic flaw? $478. They hadn't actually tried to help me; they just lied to put me in a position where they had more leverage to demand their outrageous ransom to fix my tab key. I called Apple Support, twice today, to see if anyone could help me further. The answer was no, because the decision came down from the Repair group, who are wholly inaccessible by phone, according to the "specialists" I spoke to. So my choices were to pay nearly 500 dollars to fix the tab key on a 4.5 year old laptop, or give up on trying to get Apple to fix a keyboard that they admitted was a flawed design years ago. At every turn I've been met with bored, sarcastic technicians, unhelpful managers, and long, long wait times. I will never buy an Apple product again. [link] [comments]
How many times can you use Apple’s 14 day returns/exchange policy? Posted: 11 Feb 2022 04:24 PM PST So Apple has a 14-day returns policy, where you can return whatever product if you're not happy with it, as long as it's within 14 days of purchase. So I've used this once already, to exchange my iPad Air for a different colour. But now I'm having second thoughts about even owning an iPad Air - I'm realising that I hardly use it and it doesn't suit my purposes. I'm thinking about returning it or possibly exchanging it for the new iPad mini instead. Does anyone know if this is possible since this is the second time I'm returning something using the 14 day system? Not trying to abuse the system, I genuinely am horrible at making decisions lol. Windows switching keyboard shortcut changed my damn life Posted: 11 Feb 2022 04:45 AM PST Should say, I've been a Mac user for over 10 years now. The only thing that I've missed most from windows is the Alt+Tab behaviour. If you have multiple windows of the same programme open you can switch between them, and it's not like that on a Mac. Boiled my piss constantly. Accidentally today hit some keys and managed to switch between multiple Chrome windows. What. How. ⌘+` It was there, all this time. I've never seen it listed on a keyboard shortcut list ever. Not in the help menus, nothing. Just had to share. [link] [comments] |
