All his apps had re downloaded as normal contacts and photos but one problem is that there is no recent photos or messages on the phone. The latest photo is from March 2019 and latest message is from March 2019. Obviously that's wrong is there a reason why this has happened and is there a way he can get all the recent messages and pictures on the phone? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 07 Dec 2021 06:02 AM PST i have a pair of airpod pros and i got them around year and a half ago maybe more or less, i accidentally washed them at one point but put them in silica gel to get the water out and they worked fine after (only angry beeps when i'd squish them a little too tight, and even now they don't do that anymore) normally i wear my right airpod all throughout the day during school and let them charge at lunch, yesterday i had forgotten them and they charged all day, the next day(today) i go to listen to music and almost immediately they give me the little beep boops they make when they're low battery, and i was like that's weird and i check and yea, on my battery widget they say 20% for my right(one that i use all day) 0% for left and 0% for charging case, which is weird, i plug them into my portable charger and my left airpod pops up at around 30ish% and my charging case at 100%(this is coming from my widget on my phone) the light flashes green and stops a while after??? my airpods are only charging when the charging case is charging now, and i don't know what to do or if i should get rid of them.. should i try to make an appointment w my apple store? would it be worth the money to do that or just get a new pair(i am very broke) if i knew how to attach photos i would but i never use reddit so idk how if i do have to get rid of them, does anyone know any places that recycles parts that i could send them to? does apple do that? or should i see what my apple store says? i have a large attachment to them and use them for everything and i don't think i can afford another pair [link] [comments] |

The original phone was bought unlocked, and was fully paid for in cash initially. Around 8 months into the phone, the faceid module started acting up and Apple genius bar deemed the phone to be un-repairable, and they replaced it for free. Again, couple months into my replacement phone, I fiddle in the settings and see "Sim locked" I plan on taking it to Apple, but I wanted to hear from you guys - is this common? Am I eligible to get another phone? Can apple even remove such a restriction? [link] [comments] |
| Unable to set password in migration assistant Posted: 07 Dec 2021 07:55 AM PST I received my new MacBook Pro yesterday and began the process of trying to move the data from my M1 MacBook Pro to the new 16". Every time I try and move the data over using either peer-to-peer wireless transfer, Time Machine backup, or a Super Duper clone I get to the screen to set the password for the admin user and it is greyed out. Picture Seeing as I have tried all three methods and got the same result I don't exactly know where to go from here. I tried one other attempt which was to setup the Mac with a test user account and confirm that it does the same thing when launching migration assistant within macOS. I also confirmed if I create an admin user account with the same user short name I get the same issue. Any ideas on what to try? If I can't get anywhere I might just have to nuke and pave which is unfortunately going to take a while to build back up. I would really rather not but if I have to I have to. [link] [comments] |

In my new job, I requested a Macbook pro. I got a 2019 model. I was wondering if there is any USB switch that is compatible with Mac & Windows. Sometimes it just keeps doing it and I have to delete the widgets. Anyone knows what that is? Deleting the widgets and adding them back doesn't fix this, neither does restarting my phone. I have been practicing nursing at 6 different places, and 3 old jobs. That means that i have put all my shifts into the apple calendar app. But now, when i try to put in shifts and use the auto-fill tool, all i get is the old suggestions from previously worked places. Is there a way to get rid of suggestions of the old working places, so that i can make place for suggestions from my new work place? I like the calendar app and the auto-fill part because is saves me so much time, but not when my new work place dont get suggested. I've logged into my Apple ID in Settings, but every time I try to access the App Store it says it cannot connect. I also tried to manually install apps through iTunes on my PC, but that didn't work because the apps are too new, and it didn't ask me if I wanted an older version. The main app that I'm trying to get is Instagram. I'm considering jailbreaking it but I want to try all of my options before I do that. I've tried a lot of things. | Error code -36 halting my backups Posted: 07 Dec 2021 05:46 AM PST Time Machine suddenly stopped doing backups, citing the reason as "a problem occurred when copying files". This must have happened sometime in september, as no complete backups have been made since then. I tried manually backing up folders to another drive, only to discover several error codes -36 on several files. None of the files are .DS_store files, they are all files used by the applications themselves. These files were not like this before, something must have happened to them at some point. It started two days ago and comes up completely randomly, whether I am browsing internet, playing with Garage Band or looking at something in the book app. The sound itself resembles something like a cowbell and a tambourine being hit instantly one after the other. At first I thought it's coming from Garage Band, but the app has been closed for a day now and I can still hear the sound even when, You Tube, even when the Mac is asleep. Every time I try to install an app to my device it asks me to authorize my the computer, which I have done. I authorize it again and it keeps asking me afterwards still. | iPhone 8+ stuck on Apple Logo. Shut off on full storage and do not want to restore it. Posted: 07 Dec 2021 04:06 AM PST Iphone 8+, 64 GB, Not jailbroken, almost 4 years old with no battery issues. I was having wifi connection issues all day yesterday in my college dorms, I wasn't connecting to the wifi at all and was using cellular data the whole day. I already powered off my phone earlier that day with no issue so I did it again later that night hoping it would fix the problem only for my phone to completely never return. It's stuck on the Apple Logo/Black screen plus the little wheel that spins for a few seconds only for the Apple Logo to return. After doing tons of research on this I concluded the phone was powered off with full storage and that is why it can no longer power back on fully. My phone for as long as I can remember is always on full storage and I'm always having to delete random things just so I can use it, but I did not know that powering off for a few seconds can result in this. I haven't done any backing up ever which is dumb on my part I know, but I never thought this would happen. I haven't done any recovery mode things either only because I do not have an adapter cable with me. But the last thing I want to do is reset my phone, that is almost not an option for me right now. So I'm desperately asking if there is possibly ANY way to free up space on my iPhone through my MacBook, I already have a cable ordered. I NEED majority of the things on my phone. [link] [comments] |
