The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature Posted: 27 Nov 2021 10:17 PM PST Note: I did my best to avoid spoilers, and I apologize if I let any slip through the cracks. I just finished playing this game through and...wow. Talk about a game that has beautiful artwork and a lot of potential to get very, very dark. The game is faithful to the original novel by Mary Shelley, while still expanding and altering the story in a masterful way so that it is influenced by the player to some extent. So, on to my impressions of the design. The artwork is very impressionistic and looks as if it were done in watercolors. It's a bit like moving through a painting. The colors and their importance to the story are absolutely beautiful. If anything, despite the impressionistic artwork, the way the creators used color is what really pulls the player into the game. The graphics and controls are a little messy, but overall I really enjoyed the appearance and I think that was due in part to the artistic style. The gameplay elements were some of the most frustrating parts of the game. There are several mini games throughout that vary in difficulty. The biggest issue is that it is sometimes very hard to figure out what you're supposed to do. I thought about quitting a few times, but I'm stubborn to the point of ridiculousness so I kept at it. The controls are also very weird. The Creature character is very hard to control and moving him through the landscape requires a lot of patience. I will say, though, it does kind of immerse you in the character who knows nothing about the world in which he finds himself. Now for the story. I'll be completely honest, I am not in the best headspace after playing this game. If you have a lot of problems with depression or anything like that, I wouldn't recommend it. The story is very well crafted and it's amazing to see the story entirely from the perspective of Adam (Frankenstein's Creature himself). However, as I said, it has a lot of potential to be very, very dark. As I'm starting to get through the emotional impact of the game, I can really appreciate how the game manages to explore Shelley's themes from the novel in a deep, raw way. It incorporates themes of life and what it is to be alive and what it means to be human. It also dives into some of the darker aspects of humanity while still maintaining the better parts. In total, this is a graphically beautiful game with a somewhat dark storyline. If you know anything about the source material, that shouldn't be too surprising, but proceed with caution nevertheless. If you're looking for a light, not too deep story game, this is not it. On the other hand, if you want a game that is immersive and makes you think very deeply, this one is probably a pretty good pick. Time per run: about 4hrs [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 09:07 PM PST I'm looking for a rpg where I build a single character, not those where I summon a bunch or have a team (even if it's a p2w gacha) that I can play in short bursts of 5~15min whenever I want. I also prefer games where the developer still updates it. The last one I played was the greedy cave, but the runs took too long, more than 15min, so I gave that up edit: Forgot to mention, I don't really like text-based games, I tried them before (melvor and such) but it couldn't keep my attention [link] [comments]
Two Spies: A Free 1v1 Strategy Game with a 10 Dollar Novice Tournament soon Posted: 27 Nov 2021 02:48 PM PST Hello r/iosgames, in just 1 week the Two Spies Discord will be holding a Two Spies Novice Tournament with the winner earning 10 dollars. This tournament is to gain support for the best 1v1 strategy game on the App Store that's not chess: Two Spies. Two Spies is the perfect mix of controlling territory like in chess and most board games combines with the bluffing and reads of poker and most card games. You play as a spy in the Cold War who is trying to strike your target, but the target isn't going down without a fight. You both travel through Europe, control cities to gain intel, use intel to buy powerful actions, and use these actions to locate and strike your opponent. But be careful because your target is not only controlling their own cities, but they are anticipating your actions and are planning to counter with their own actions. Will you buy encryption to make your actions hidden to them, or will you save that 25 intel and buy Rapid Recon, allowing you to blow their cover by traveling to the same city as them. Do you strike in Berlin because you think that they are in Berlin, or do you not trust or judgement and fake strike? Or do you just control and play the long game? Will you go deep into their city, risking a quick loss in exchange for better board control, or do you try to defend your cities instead? These are just 3 of the thousands of decisions you need to make in Two Spies. Two Spies is the perfect game to play with friends. The 1v1 nature of the game can lead to the highest of highs or a crushing defeat depending on if you can manage to comeback from down 0-2 or if you fall just short. Two Spies has online features if you want to play against them virtually, local play which doesn't require wifi and is great if you're on a road trip with an IPad, or pass & play if one of your friends has an Android instead. (Two Spies is only available on Apple devices) And if you don't have friends, Two Spies is perfect for you too. After completing the tutorial, you're able to play against different level bots which allows you to improve your skills and prove that humans are still superior to robots. But the main hook for Two Spies is Quick Match. Quick Match sets you against a similar level led spy from around the world and sets you against each other. You need to adapt quickly to the different strategies that other spies will throw at you. With 5 different ranks, (cadet, secret, top secret, shadow, and 00) each win will help you climb up the ladder and earn a higher rank, but will cause you to face smarter and craftier spies. Quick Match is my favorite because I lost all my friends after beating them at Two Spies. Two Spies is a lot more enjoyable on the Two Spies Discord. All of the top spies in the world, gathered up in the same Discord server to talk about how their matches have gone, discuss strategies, give advice to aspiring spies, and give suggestions for the games. The Discord has some of the legendary names of the spy community like Red Puma, Wary Stallion, Scarlet Android, (me) Loud Stag, Course Halo, Steady Blade, Rigid Wildcat and over 700 others. All of the best spies of in Europe, all talking Two Spies as they virtually murder each other lots of times. Currently we are running a novice tournament in the Discord, to advertise both the Discord and Two Spies itself. In most tournaments that we've hosted, the new players show up incredibly excited to play, then get murdered by the veterans. So this time we've banned the veterans and made an exclusively novice tournament. Instead of fighting the new players, the top players will be giving advice and reviewing videos of the games instead. With this tournament we're trying to make and improve the next generation of spies. And to sweeten the pot, we have a big reward for the winner. The winner will earn 10 actual dollars to spend on whatever they want and the championship match will be a analyzed by top spies on a YouTube video, similar to this video. The tournament starts in a week, so this gives you the perfect amount of time to download the app and Prepare (Two Spies pun) for the tournament. tl;dr, Get the game Two Spies! It's a free strategic masterpiece that combines the best parts of chess and poker. In a week we're hosting a free to enter tournament on the Two Spies Discord where novices will face each other for a 10 dollar grand prize. I hope to see you (and strike you) on the battlefield. Good luck agents! [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Nov 2021 05:16 PM PST I had a game a few years ago that was a polygon shooter game. The game had different game modes and each character was a solid color with the guns l, when you shot, each shot was a line of the color you chose for your own character. I deleted the game and i think it was completely removed from the iOS store so I wanted to know if anyone knew of the name of the game? The name was no more than 5 letters i think.
