i was going to switch to my ps5 as my main streaming device Posted: 10 Nov 2021 06:52 PM PST AND LET ME JUST SAY. i did not realize how good my apple tv was. the experience was really that much better that i immediately said nope and am now going to return that thirty dollar remote for the ps5. my reasoning for getting rid of my apple tv? i need money, so i was going to sell it for some cash. but holy crap i am never going back again. apple music is atrocious compared to the beauty on my apple tv. submitted by /u/thisdudeaustin [link] [comments]

Back button too sensitive? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 04:34 AM PST I've got the ATV 4K with the new silver remote. I know that holding the back button brings you back to the Home Screen whereas just clicking on it brings you back one step in the menus. But I experience quite often that a single click takes me back to the Home Screen. HTTP streaming app that isn't VLC Posted: 10 Nov 2021 11:53 AM PST Quick question for the community: I have an internal device that I use for running a linear channel of content that I put on it (think of it as like my own TV channel). In addition to having an analog feed in the house, I also have a streaming version as well to stream to my iPads and Apple TVs. The stream is hosted through VLC, so naturally I use the VLC app. However...there are weird audio issues on VLC that seem exclusive to the app (it doesn't happen on IINA on macOS for instance). So does anyone know if any other media app that allows you to put in a URL and access the video stream? I can tolerate the weird audio blips since it's just for me, but I wondered if anyone else knows of any other app that I could try to access this feed. Sound but no video on HBOmax 4K content Posted: 10 Nov 2021 02:35 PM PST So I just got an LG G1 OLED and currently with HBOMax I'm getting sound but no video on 4k content only. Non-4k stuff plays fine. I went into settings and set it to use Dolby Vision but same problem. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, etc. I'm on a 1gb FIOS connection and was getting north of 850 Mbps when doing a speed test. I don't think it's network related (device is plugged into a 1gb switch). Other 4k content plays fine through Plex/Infuse. I'm hoping this is just an issue with the app that will fix itself but wanted to run by the community just in case I'm doing something wrong submitted by /u/5minats [link] [comments]
