| Which Safari tab bar placement do you prefer - top or bottom? Posted: 13 Nov 2021 01:21 PM PST I had hoped to open a poll, but it seems like the feature is disabled in here. Anyway, I wanted to weigh in and also check on what y'all prefer. I prefer the top bar placement. For starters, it's because I'm accustomed to it by now. Besides, since I use Google most of the times, I find it taxing to switch b/w typing my query on the tab bar at the bottom and Google search bar at the top. These two seem to go out of sync for me. That said, what I miss with this feature is the ability to slide b/w tabs, not a biggie though. So, what do you all prefer? For the record, you could pull a switcheroo and have the top bar placement with your new IOS 15 update. Go on to the settings, search for Tabs section in Safari - voila. [link] [comments] | ||

| iPad Pro A12X (2018) gaming performing impact after updating to iOS 15.1 Posted: 13 Nov 2021 12:33 PM PST I've noticed that throttling and screen dimming are happening a lot faster then before while playing Genshin Impact. Before the update I was able to play for a lot longer and the screen would only dim to around 80% - 70% after playing for extended periods of time while the iPad was plugged in at 100% while I game.(everything max settings). But now after the update my screen dims to 40% after playing for only 10 - 15 minutes and the iPad is barely hot, compared to before on iOS 14 I was able to play for hours on end and the screen would only dim to a max of 70%, I'm also noticing lower fps once the screen dims. I tired rolling back my update but Apple doesn't allow it. This is really frustrating, it's almost as if they are doing to on purpose. Anyone having the same issues or have any insight on the matter? Iv blocked everyone in the group so I don't get messages but the FaceTime calls still come in. It's happened twice in the past week. Posted: 13 Nov 2021 12:08 PM PST When I want to activate the option to automatically upload and safely store all my photos and videos in iCloud, I get a message that says: "Photos and Videos Synced from Finder will be Removed - Syncing photos via Finder is not supported when iCloud Photos is turned on." If I select "Remove Photos and Videos" will they be removed from my phone? Should I proceed with that option if I want all my photos and videos saved on iCloud? Thank you in advance! Does it require the "Turn on at Wind Down" setting to be on, or is it always activated at your sleep schedule (which would mean turning on at wind down would simply activate it sooner)? My phone has a 6-digit passcode and the finger ID is working good, find my iPhone is turned on and the two factor authentication is off. I recently wanted a new ring tone so I chopped up a part of a song in my mac then airdropped it to my iPhone 6 however, It didn't automatically go to Itunes but instead to files app I search online and the only solution that I found Is to transfer it to Garageband then transfer it to Itunes. But since I had an iPhone 6 I couldn't download it. So any alternative solutions? However, I'm curious to know…were app developers made to delete any data they had on consumers related to IMEI's or MAC addresses etc, or were they allowed to retain them as they were collected before iOS 7 was released? | Posted: 13 Nov 2021 09:24 AM PST I am wondering: using during Covid a lot WhatsApp video calls, I know on Android the PiP works on home screen or when other apps are running. On iPhone, it only works within the app, if I switch to safari to google something, the video is paused. Its a bit annoying and kinda limits the iPhone in my eyes (thinking to get a 13 actually). Why is that? Is that WhatsApp thing or is Apple keeping only Facetime allowing it? Or do I just not find the setting to enable PiP Whatsapp everywhere? Also the output source, like if 1 source plays the second one interrupts it. In a video call that leads to the call being ended. Also on iPad that makes it annoying, as I would like to see a lecture and have silent music background playing. Or use a language app where a word is said, interrupting the music playback during the study session instead of both sources just playing at the same time. I enjoy Mac OS, iOS and its devices, also MacBooks again with the M1 chips, but not being able to manage the sources and outputs of audio are somehow very annoying me. And it is annoying that those great devices are kept back by things like PiP not working everywhere, which is doable just needs to be done. [link] [comments] | ||
| How do you deal with large folders of RAW files in the “Files App”? Posted: 13 Nov 2021 05:38 AM PST I'm at a total loss on this one. I wanted to start using my iPad 8th gen to do more photo processing work. But I can't even make it past step one… I'm sorry if this comes off a little like a rant, I've been at this for 3 days. No matter how I try to access my folders that contain my RAW files, I cannot get them to display thumbnails consistently. So far I have tried; 1. Accessing over SMB directly in Files: this is the worst as no thumbnails generate ever. 2. Connecting over SMB or WebDAV using FileBrowserGO and accessing using the Files integration: This occasionally shows a couple thumbnails but usually nothing. 3. Using the Files Integration from the Nextcloud App: This consistently shows thumbnails, when it's not throwing an error that it can't access the folder… 4. I bought a Lightning SD card adapter, and a 512GB Samsung EVO. Figured there's no way this wouldn't work…it sucks. It just generates thumbnails whenever it feels like it. 5. last attempt was a USB 3.1 nvme SSD, surely this would be it…NOPE! Same story. If I access any of my folders using any of the above methods but directly in FileBrowserGO instead of the Files app, they will show thumbnails within a matter of seconds. But this does me no good because it's the Files app that's integrated into all the apps I have not FileBrowserGO. So at this point I'm completely out of ideas. I'm not storing my photos in iCloud. And this is leaving a really bad impression for the iPads ability to do "real" work…at least without storing it in the cloud…. [link] [comments] |
