| My iPhone 11 Pro won’t play music through usb to my car anymore Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:50 PM PDT Just updated to ios 15.1 today and when I plugged my iPhone into my car like usual it wouldn't play music. It still charges my phone but doesn't send audio to my car stereo. It was working fine before I updated the phone. Is there some sort of setting I have to enable or is this just a bug? | iOS passwords not updating to iCloud Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:45 PM PDT I recently went through a huge overhaul of my passwords to make them more secure and mostly worked on my iPhone X (iOS 15.1). However, recently on my MacBook Pro 16 (2021, macOS monterey) I noticed in the new passwords app that it had much older versions of my passwords. After some cross testing I realized that the passwords stored in my iCloud Keychain are the older ones which means that my iOS never synced with iCloud. iCloud Keychain is turned on on my phone and won't turn off during troubleshooting. My next shot is turning iCloud off altogether on the phone. I'm now worried that if iCloud Keychain does start working it will replace my newer passwords with older ones. | Using a google domain custom email as a primary Apple ID Posted: 04 Nov 2021 10:15 PM PDT Im trying to google and search Reddit but I can't find anything about this. I have "domain.com" that I purchased from google domains. I want to make a "you@domain.com" custom email through google. Before I do that I want to know if it's possible to use that custom email as an Apple ID. I want to be able to use it as my Apple ID without having to make or use a Gmail, yahoo, iCloud etc email address and then adding the custom email as a secondary/ alias afterwards. | Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:22 PM PDT Hello, Depending on the situation, I regularly use do not disturb. I keep it in my shortcuts for quick access. However, recently my phone continues to get the "ding" sound from texts even though the phone was on DND. Example: I was on messages updating one of my contacts profile photo, I found an old funny photo in the process, screenshot the photo, exited that contact to send the old photo into a group chat. After sending I went directly back to what I was doing and updating my friends contact in messages. I immediately, started receiving multiple texts & the banner's were hindering my ability to make this contacts profile, so I put my phone on DND. The banners stopped but the "dings" kept coming through! This has been happening a lot recently so I immediately closed my phone "sleep." and went on the computer to look it up. Once I shut the phone to sleep the DND was working perfectly because I could see I was still getting text's on my computer. About two minuets later, I went back on my phone, back to messages and back to the contact profile update and boom! another "ding" even though my phone was still on DND. Confused... I swiped up to let the phone sit on the home screen and I was still getting text messages, but the DND was working and I didn't see or hear a thing. (I saw the notifications on my computer.) My phone DND setting is and has been set to Silence: "Always." And has never been set to "While phone is locked," I have allow calls from "no one," Repeated calls is off, and I don't allow favorites to be able to breach my DND, nor were any of the text from my favorites this time. Using my best judgment, My DND settings are up to par, the DND works. But it doesn't stop the message sound from coming though when I have my messages app opened. This has only been happening for the past 2ish months, maybe? I've been using DND for as long as I can remember. And Since this has now happened a couple times , I want to say that the "dings" have come though on other apps as well while the phone is unlocked, on DND. So I am unsure if it only happens when the messages app is open or not. I am aware that an easy possible fix to this is to just flip the sound on/off button on the side of the phone to off if this happens again. But that seems like an unnecessary step and defeats the whole purpose to the DND setting. Does anyone have any advise for me? Or know why this might be happening? Thank you! And Lastly, I tried looking for a couple minuets on my computer for a way to bring the computer DND setting to the top of my dashboard (next to the date-time) for easy on/off access, in the same way you can place the phone DND setting on your shortcuts. But I couldn't find a solution. Is there currently a way to do this or can I only turn on/off my computer DND in manual settings. Thanks. [link] [comments]  |
| Apple One subscription billing confusion Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:06 PM PDT I'm looking for help on me and my wife's Apple One and family sharing plan, and if we will be double paying for services. Originally, my wife set up the family sharing plan for her iCloud+ 2TB plan with me. However this week I signed up for the Apple One plan that also includes the 2TB iCloud+ storage. Does she need to cancel her iCloud+ plan and join mine? Does she need to end her role as family sharing organizer status, and then will I need to initiate the family sharing to her, since I own the Apple One subscription? | Posted: 04 Nov 2021 07:46 PM PDT I am planning on purchasing an iPhone 13 Pro Max, also using my iPhone 11 as a trade in piece to reduce the cost. There is a very small scratch on the bottom close to the lightning port, so I am not sure if it will be accepted. Do you think my iPhone 11 will pass? Also if I do send the iPhone 11 to be traded in and it's value is not able to be applied to the cost of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, is it possible that I can get my iPhone 11 back? [link] [comments]  |

Turns out something has been running for 24 hours in the background for the past two days, labeled i.gyazo.com. I've searched through all of my apps and I have nothing under that name, nor anything new that I don't recognize. I updated my iOS to 15 sometime last week. How to I stop it / fix it / prevent it? I'm doing this the way everyone on google says to. Connect the iPod Find it in finder, uncheck auto sync. Then open macintosh HD, press command, shift, ".", but iPod never pops up. | Posted: 04 Nov 2021 05:31 PM PDT I tried googling (finding nothing) and then going through the official Apple Support chat (where they, understandably, tried to diagnose the problem and gave me steps to restart my computer, but I was just asking for the symbol's meaning). Preferably, I would just like to know, what does this hazard sign next to Google Chrome mean? About my device: MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), MacOS Big Sur 11.6, screenshot is from System Preferences -> Screen Time No app time limits/downtime/parental controls are set. Google Chrome windows aside from the one I'm currently using are minimized in the background. When I try to hover over the symbol, there isn't any text, and right-clicking doesn't do anything. I can't find anything in the user guide or on the Apple website and I'm just curious! The symbol is there every day, even when Chrome isn't the time-majority app. [link] [comments]  |

Like it's not anywhere in the settings where I can have the update (even though the update was from 14.5 I believe). Normally I won't use Siri just for setting a new timer. When I set my timer with „Hey Siri set timer for one quadrillion hours", Siri won't pick up my voice on my IPhone which I hold on my hands. The first attempt gives me a 301003 error and a message that says something on the lines of "unable to connect to iCloud authentication server". I then reset the HomePod and try again, this time no error but after it prompts me to log in to my account, it just hangs at "Setting Up". I've left it at this step for over an hour on a couple attempts without any luck. I've tried to everything I can possibly think of, even swapped my mesh network router out with an AirPort Extreme I have to rule out the network settings. I've also reset some of my other HomePods and then tried to connect and set them up, they have no issues at all. The only thing I can think of is the two new ones I tried came with 14.4 installed but I don't know. Has anyone else had any issues like this ? I must let have tried 20 times to get this and the other one I sent back to work and nothing helps. [link] [comments]  |
| Can someone explain how to connect Gen2 AirPods to the device I am currently wanting to use. Posted: 04 Nov 2021 04:47 PM PDT Gen2 AirPods. They have been connected to my 2020 MacBook Pro 16", iPhone XR, iPad Air 4th Gen, iPad Air 2. My wife's iPhone XR and her Apple Watch Series 3. I use my AirPods on my MacBook for work, my iPad Air 2 to watch TV, my iPhone XR to make phone calls and listen to music. My wife uses them to run with her watch. She hasn't been for a run in a couple of weeks. They were last used three days ago to make a phone call on my iPhone XR. I opened my iPad Air 2 to watch tv. I opened the AirPod case. The menu appeared on my iPad. I pulled out the right AirPods and the menu screen changed to show just the AirPod with the charge. It made the chime. I put my left one in and the menu went away. I assumed that it was connected to my iPad Air. I hit play and they aren't connected to my iPad. I go on a scavenger hunt and they are connected to my wife's watch on the other side of the house. Meanwhile my computer is open on my work program, my phone and iPad Gen 4 were all sitting on the desk beside me. I had to go to the bluetooth menu and manually connect them. Yes this is a minor inconvenience but I feel as though I am missing a step that is supposed to be "stream less". What am I doing wrong? [link] [comments]  |
