- I was trying to replace a MacBook screen but some screws became stripped underneath the laptop. I tried every trick to unscrew them so I bought a Rotary tool to take them out. The screws are angled below the laptop and is difficult to get them out, not sure what to do.

| Missing Person - iOS location Data Posted: 03 Nov 2021 05:28 PM PDT TLDR: Friend went missing and would like to know how often apple updates iPhone location data. Hi Apple Community, Im new to the community so please delete if not allowed. I'm here asking for information regarding Apple's location data. This Halloween weekend a good friend of mine went missing in the city of Chicago. You can read about it here. From what we know he left the bar around 12:04 AM and 7 minutes later called from outside a Walgreens. However, when we log into his Apple account the last location that we can see is at the bar that he left. We are still actively trying to determine which Walgreens he was at so it would be great to at least have this location data available. I'm trying to wrap my head around why his location never updated. My thought is that either there were too many people around, his phone was on low battery, or that Apple pings location data less periodically than 7 minutes. Is anyone here qualified enough to give their opinion on which of these is most likely or provide another possible explanation? My other question is regarding other apps and their ability to track location. Is it possible for apps such as Google or Facebook to have more recent iPhone location data than Apple? I just came back from class and realized my airpod case was missing from my keychain. i had my left airpod in my ear, but my right airpod was inside the case so now both the case and the airpod are lost. I checked the "Find My" app but it only shows the airpod I currently have with me. Is there a way for the app to tell me where the case with the missing airpod could possibly be? It's currently late at night so I can't go back to my college and find it. I'm just crossing my fingers that I find it tomorrow in the sidewalk. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 03 Nov 2021 07:28 PM PDT I customized a 14 inch MacBook Pro on Apple's website, basically the base model but with a terabyte of storage, and it says shipping is estimated for late December, and it's not available for pickup at my Apple store. If I change the storage to the lower option, it becomes available for pickup today. I'd ideally like to have my hands on the computer before late December, so I'm trying to decide now if I should go ahead and order it, or wait and occasionally check to see if my Apple store gets one of my specifications in. Could anyone give me any insight on the likelihood of this, or is it just totally random based on location? [link] [comments]  |

Problem is, now that the Apple ID is mine, I changed the information accordingly, such as my name, phone number, e-mail and birthdate. I can call regularly but imessage and facetime won't go through. They go out as blue and never say deliver despite him unblocking me via facetime, text, and general contacts. What do I do now? I use the weather app every day on my phone, I live in Florida and like the addition to receive notifications from the weather app when it is about to rain, thought it is a great feature on iOS 15. My question is how much power does the weather app use for it to always access my location? Does it use very minimal power to make a difference as a posed to having it while using the app and widget? I read that if the sync is stuck you should, turn off iCloud photos uploading and then re-enable it, to which it is now trying to reupload my entire library. I think it may take weeks at this point. The progress is minimal. It's not my internet connection and I have my iPhone connected to power. Now they know where their devices are so I doubt it could be theirs. They have a family plan so they can see their family's devices. | I can't add my debit card to my Apple wallet. Posted: 03 Nov 2021 05:04 PM PDT I got a new phone and had reset my Apple Watch today as it was still paired to the old one (which is broken and cannot be turned on) and successfully got it paired to my new one. I then began experiencing issues with adding payment methods on the watch, so I removed my cards on my iPhone and re-entered them completely. However, I cannot get my debit card back into my wallet now whatsoever. My credit card connected just fine and it works, but when I try to add my debit it keeps saying "Could not add card. Try again or contact your card issuer for more information." I have absolutely no idea why this is happening, my debit was literally in my Apple wallet an hour ago working just fine and now it won't connect. Does anybody have any ideas? I feel like I've done everything possible so I'm at a loss here and don't know what to do other than call my card issuer or get a new card - both of which I would really rather not do. Please help. I have 10K-ish songs, MP3's, saved on my MacBook Pro's hard drive. They are ripped from CD's. I have a smart playlist with all my songs with zero plays, so once I play songs for the first time it automatically removes the music from the playlist. It's ordered chronologically and it's a great system for my music consumption. A few weeks ago I signed up for an Apple Music subscription because I wanted to listen to a show on Beats 1. I turned off all the Apple Music added features on my phone's settings. Now my play count isn't notching the plays. If I play them on my laptop, or on my phone they play counts don't increase, thus my smart playlist is messed up. I've gone through the Apple.com help chat to attempt to get the problem solved. macOS Big Sur version 11.6.1. iPhone X iOS 15.1. Both worked previously, neither works now. I've tried tweaking the settings, turning off and on the "sync library" feature. No luck. Bummed, curious to hear any thoughts or ideas. [link] [comments]  |

For example, with Google photos, I can choose to delete all the local files and only have my photos in Google drive, and I can still view them in all of my devices. Can iCloud do the same thing ? | Bluetooth problems on monterey Posted: 03 Nov 2021 06:49 PM PDT I am having trouble with bluetooth connection between my 2017 mbp on monterey and my iphone 13 on ios 15. They have a hard time connecting to each other and the rare time they manage to do so, the connection drops about 4 seconds later. So far I have tried: -turning on and off both devices -Reseting SMC and NVRAM on mbp -network reset on iphone -factory reset iphone I am at my wits end here. I don't know what to do anymore short of factory reseting my macbook. If anyone has any question to help me further, I'll give out more info. Thanks for any and all help. [link] [comments]  |
