    Iphone 12 Safari, youtube defaults to 360p

    Hi, my phone has this annoying behavior when the youtube videos in the browser all default to 360p even after changing to 720p. This is especially annoying since the resolution cannot be changed in fullscreen, so i need to close fullscreen, press the settings icon and adjust it again. Very frustrating.

    And I could not find any permanent setting in the settings or safari or youtube itself?

    Face ID works with a mask on?

    So I'm currently on iOS beta 5, but I have seen this behaviour since the previous release.

    My screen will unlock with Face ID even if I have a mask on, about 7 out of 10 times. But, any subsequent apps requiring Face ID (Signal, Google pay etc) will not unlock.

    Not sure what exactly this has to do with. At first I thought it was a one off thing. But since then, I have seen this happen quite frequently.

    But face ID in general works. I mean, nobody else can unlock the phone directly.

    Has anyone else observed this issue?

    Note: I do not have an Apple watch.

    Iphone stops charging upon booting

    Hi, I've noticed as of recent that when i plug my dead phone to charge, as soon as it turns on it stops charging at 3-5% tops. It does not happen when it's already on, eg at 1% and i plug it in. It's very annoying as i cant just leave it charging when it dies, i need to wait for it to charge a while and then turn on (which wasn't a problem on my previous android as it only needs to be plugged in with 0% to be turned on manually). It has nothing to do with ports being clean or dirty, for the rest of the time it works well, fast and with no unexpected malfunctions. It seems to be a purely software issue upon booting. Anybody has had the same problem, and have you found a way to fix it?

    External drives and their use

    So with ios 13 and above you can now backup files and folders to external drives. Can you also use these drives as expansion to your internal storage ie if you have music/films on there can you plug the drive in and run them from the external drive? (From a video player app etc)

    Can you also download content from the web like films and run them off the internal storage? When i was messing with an old iphone on ios12 i could not even find PDFs i had downloaded from my email (event tickets) to open and show the events staff!

    The only thing stopping me making the jump to ios is the lack of file control, so any help here would be appreciated.

    Can't Find Volume Control on Youtube App for iPhone X

    On my PC I have a volume button on every Youtube video, but not on my phone, and I can't raise/lower the volume in the app itself. Any idea why or where the volume button is on app itself?

    Selling iphone and ipad

    I'm not sure if this is a place to ask but I bought my ip12 and new ipad half a year ago but don't really use them much, so they are practically brand new.

    I might get flamed on here for asking, but due to the recent privacy concerns on these products in the recent weeks, I am looking to sell them for a good price but I have no idea where to.

    At this point, even if Apple goes against what it is intending to do (highly unlikely), the trust isn't the same anoymore. So does anyone have any suggestions?

    Live Photo’s and Storage

    Hi, I'm not technologically minded at all, and I appear to have a problem.

    I've filled up my memory on my phone and 50gb of the cloud with photos, but they're all Live Photo's.

    I've managed to turn Live Photo's off, so that new pictures are just stills.

    But how to I change the other 8000+ that I've already taken?

    So, I'll start this by saying I'm from Finland. We don't use WiFi much over here for phones (if at all), since most of the country is well covered in high-speed 4G.

    I wanted to try out the iOS 15 Beta. All good, download the profile etc. I'll need a WiFi connection. No way around it. I don't even have a Wifi connection, since I can't to afford to pay for a plan + a router, i just get all of my internet from my cellular by sharing it to a tv, pc etc. Tried sharing internet from gf's iphone. The update got stuck on "Estimating time remaining"

    Alright, with a bit of googling, i found out that I can update from iTunes on the pc. No biggie, boot that up. It's asking me to update to 14.7.1, no mention of 15. Google was of no help.

    So what i ended up doing, was:

    Connecting my iPhone via a cable to the pc to share internet.

    Share the iPhone connection from pc as a hotspot.

    Connect iPhone to said hotspot.

    So can I just ask that what the hell is going on in here, i'm sharing my iphone's cellular data to use it as a wifi connection, because i can't use cellular. We'll see if it works, at least iOS started updating

    I've been put off before by Apple's hard-ons for WiFi. The wifi is always on in my iphone, and while i get that it's easier like that for people that use wifi anyways, please just let us europeans have a setting somewhere where we could prioritize cellular. I don't want the wifi to be on using battery, but i can't turn it off every time from the settings since it needs to be on when sharing a hotspot connection.

    I was so close to giving up, and it just pisses me off to go to such lengths to do a very simple thing, update iOS.
