    Only 3G available when travelling

    So I'm on vacation right now and I crossed a country border a couple of hours ago, I'm traveling in Europe and when I crossed the border my data provider sent an SMS with the usual text about how there is no change in my 4G plan, and that I can continue calling and using the internet.

    Now I didn't use my 4G until just recently and something weird happened when I did. In the top of the screen it told me I indeed had 4G but when I tried opening Safari it would tell me that it was unable to activate my device and that I should try and turn on cellular data or connect to a wifi network. I ofcourse had data roaming turned on.

    I found this very strange since one of my family members has the same provider, but they can use their 4G wherever and whenever, so I started trouble shooting. With the help of googling on an alternate device I tried some basic fixes that should work on 99% of the devices. I reset network settings, specifically put the word "internet" in data network settings after resetting those, trying to delete VPN profiles (I had none),turned roaming and data on and off, restarted my device multiple times, but nothing worked. Then I noticed something strange, I was able to connect and receive data on 3G just fine, it's ofcourse slower but it works perfectly. If I were to switch to 4G after that it would give the same message. So I now resorted to fellow Redditors to help me, because I'm at the end of my rope... any tips even if seemed helpless and absurd are welcome!

    Scanning documents with the Files or Notes app

    Couple of scenarios:

    • Scan documents using the iPhone camera straight into the Files app (Folder > Three dots > Scan Documents): this always results in a giant file ~6mb even when scanning a single page document
    • Scan documents using the iPhone camera to attach a scanned document (open a Note > Camera Icon > Scan Documents) to a note: this results in a reasonable size document much more in line with what one would expect for a PDF, but the problem with this scenario is that if you go to iCloud in your browser you won't be able to view the Scanned Documents in a note, which I've seen widely reported

    Does anyone know why there is this disparity?

    I'm using an iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 14.7, macOS Big Sur 11.5 if that makes any difference.

    Is the answer to this to just not use the native apps and find a better document scanning solution for devices, and if so does anyone have any recommendations that integrate nicely with native apps?

    I downloaded my fonts and installed them via configuration profiles. But it doesn't show up on apps. All my other fonts that I downloaded is also gone.

    14.7 DCIM Folder Naming Convention Revert

    So with 14.6 I see that the DCIM folder names were updated to YYYY_MM from XXXAPPLE. Yes, it's an update that's at least 10 years over due but better late than never right? I went ahead and updating my old back up folders manually so it would all match. Now with 14.7 it's back to the old folder names.

    Is it just me or is this driving anyone else mildly insane too?

    Two iPhone devices extremely hot after last iOS update 14.7. Anyone here with the same issue?

    During the installation of iOS 14.7 I've noticed it was super super hot, specially around the camera area. I thought this would be only during installation but I've noticed that with normal use it has been heating up to the point that I need to remove the case and let the phone sit a bit because it's uncomfortable to hold.

    Currently happening with iPhone SE2 and iPhone 7+

    Anyone with the same issue after this last update?

    Battery Max Capacity: iPhone says 82%, coconutBattery says 77%

    My iPhone battery capacity has been unchanged for months if not half a year which is hard to believe. 8 Plus. 3+ years of usage. Which is likely accurate?

    Modifying contact picture resets after setting it.

    Is there a way to use your own card for AppStore purchases when family sharing is enabled?

    Family sharing is enabled and my mother is the administrator for the group. She put her own debit card as the default payment method that always is used when any of us make AppStore purchases.

    Is there any way that when making these purchases, I can switch it to my own card to use my own money instead? I've been looking around the settings and I can't find any way to do this.

    2FA possible with Google voice?

    Guys I cannot use my own +98 number because it is not supported by Apple.

    So I was thinking maybe I could get a Google voice number and use that for my 2FA instead. Would that work?

    Also, my region is set to US but can I use for example a Polish number if I wanted to for my 2FA?

    12PM on IOS 14.7 still have stuttering issue any fix ?

    Hello like i said in tittle i have 12pm with newest ios ... i have littlebit suttering .... i heard patch 14.5 fixed that but nah not for me any fix or workaround for this issue ?.

    Maybe someone have IOS 15 installed and write it is fixed or not.

    iPadOS Mail App change preview settings

    Hi. I've tried some internet sleuthing but couldn't find an issue to this problem which seems super annoying. When using the built in Mail app to view my Gmail, I frequently either select multiple and then Move to Trash, or swipe individual emails to Archive. However, what I find is after either of those actions, the "selection" goes to usually the next email and pops it up in the preview pane and then marks the email as Read. If I am not paying attention, emails that I intentionally want to leave as unread are now read. I have to be paying attention and manually swipe the other direction to make it Unread again.

    Rather annoying. MS Outlook on my iPad doesn't do this, it waits for an intentional click to the next email.

    Any thoughts?

    So I used to sync my iPhone with iTunes on my old windows laptop to get some free space back. Now i have an m1 MacBook, and to my surprise, iTunes is not a thing on these anymore.. Can anyone tell me how am i supposed to clean my phone without syncing to itunes?

    play books app doesn't sync right

    the program doesn't sync my highlights right like when i highlight something in red in my pc it comes red in my iphone and when i highlight something in blue in my pc it comes green in my iphone, any fixes? becomes this is so frustrating
