| Apple Watch series 6 activation lock Posted: 26 Jul 2021 08:05 PM PDT So I've made the mistake of buying an "unpaired & unlocked" Apple Watch from a user on Offer up. I don't know why bad things happen to good people but the seller obviously played me and no longer responds to any of my messages. I've filed a claim with OfferUp itself to try to get my money back but they are taking days to respond. Going back and forth from email is going to take forever. Anyways I've done my research about not trusting unlocking websites and putting in the serial numbers and whatnot through websites; I'm not trying to get scammed again okay? I called Apple support and filed an unlock activation claim but they told me my only two options I have is to either file a claim (which I did already) or to get in touch with the previous owner (which isn't an option like I said) I know I couldn't be the only one with this problem - there's so many 3rd party selling apps now a days I thought I'd at least find someone else that ran into this problem. If anyone has any advice on what I can do please help- I truly believe in karma and know the seller will get what's coming to them but I'm hoping something/someone has any help that can be given to me 🙁 [link] [comments]  |

Nothing happens when I import them to iTunes, and QuickTime says they're not compatible. Weird part is, they play in Quick Look. Any ideas? | Found iPhone X on the beach and want to return it. Posted: 26 Jul 2021 12:28 PM PDT It was submerged in salt water but not for long I think. I washed it under tap water to get rid of the salt, and it would be sweet if I can return it to the owner. I do not know how badly damaged it was because I can't take it to a shop since they will need the passcode anyway. Any tips on how to get it back to the owner if at all possible? [link] [comments]  |

| "Time Machine couldn't complete the backup" Posted: 26 Jul 2021 05:28 PM PDT Apparently my 2015 MacBook Pro (running Catalina) cannot create a local snapshot to back up from. I don't know what to do; I don't really have any other backups and I really need to back up my computer so I can transfer all my data to a new MacBook Pro I just bought. Both are 512gb MacBooks and the backup drive is 1tb, so shouldn't it work? I'm sorry I'm so bad at computer maintenance. Can anyone help me figure this out? [link] [comments]  |
| iCloud Passwords and iCloud Bookmarks Chrome Extensions Not Working Anymore Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:13 PM PDT The iCloud Passwords and iCloud Bookmarks extensions are no longer functioning for me after reinstalling Windows 10 a few days ago. I reinstalled Chrome and the extensions, then installed iCloud for Windows, signed in, and activated "passwords" and "bookmarks" in the app after approving the device. However, neither extension appears to be working. The iCloud Passwords extensions fails to recognize "passwords" is enabled in the app, and the iCloud Bookmarks extensions fails to even acknowledge that I'm signed in to the app. No amount of tinkering has been able to resolve the issue for me so far. | Posted: 26 Jul 2021 02:15 PM PDT So there was an iCloud account that multiple people used to download now removed apps from the appstore, as you can still download them if they're in your purchased history. But recently someone enabled 2FA, either on purpose or accidentally. Now the password is also not working, meaning it was either changed or reset for some other reason (Ex. Failed attempts). Going to https://iforgot.apple.com/ and entering the apple ID prompts you for a phone number, but nobody knows anything about it other than that the last two digits are 53. Clicking "Don't recognize this number" gives a prompt offering to disable 2FA if you verify your identity, but that asks for a birthday that is also unknown. It seems like it's impossible to regain access unless the person who enabled 2FA themselves goes through the process, but is there any way the account could possible be gotten back? I am currently using the MacBook Pro 2017 - dual core i5 with 8gb of RAM. What I find is that it is too laggy once it's on for an hour or two, it starts to lag and overheats with the fans blowing loudly. I got this device for school 2 1/2 years back and I think it's time for a change. I would like to get the MacBook Pro 2020 - 16gb RAM. Thinking of upgrading to the i7 10th gen. I transferred all my data to the new one and for some reason, I can't see this persons messages in the group chat. I am able to see other people's messages and texts but with this one person I am unable to see their messages when comparing the messages from my old phone. I've since tried to restore from an older backup (from yesterday and a week ago), but the deleted convo remains deleted, while messages I received today are still recovered. | iPod not showing up in iTunes despite showing it is connected Posted: 26 Jul 2021 03:01 PM PDT Hi everyone, So like the title says, I'm having an issue with my iPod connecting to my desktop, getting all the necessary pop-ups and even the screen of my iPod suggests that it is connected. The screen of my iPod even said it was synchronising for the first time when I plugged it in this night. As an added action, I even ran a virus scan on the connection to see if there was something messing it up. I have been dealing with this issue for about three weeks now and am really curious as to what I can do to fix this. When I plug my iPod into an old laptop, the iPod synchronises and it even appears in the old computer. I had considered just making that my 'updating' computer but as it stands, the hard drive wouldn't contain my music library let alone all the podcasts I listen to. I have done as many things as I have thought about/advised to do such as making a copy of my iTunes library and uninstalling iTunes completely. However, as soon as I redownload iTunes before I even get a chance to reinstall my library the iTunes has done it for me already. As an extra treat to just demonstrate exactly what I am talking about, I have used my iPhone to film what I am talking about. There's also a weird sound coming from the back of the phone, can't really describe it, but I remember that iPhone 7 had this issue as well. Other than that I noticed my phone lagging very much when I'm using it outside when it's cold. I want to note that I've had this phone for only 3 months. Any ideas how to fix it? | Siri stopped calling my contacts based on Nicknames Posted: 26 Jul 2021 05:38 PM PDT So I'm an iPhone XR user here, and I'm not sure if there was some update that messed things up, but for some reason, when I say, "Hey Siri, call (Insert Contact Nickname Here)," it tells me, "I didn't find that person in your contacts. What is (Contact's) first and last name?" Example: I have my mom labeled as "The Boss." If I say, "Hey Siri, call The Boss," it'll say, "I didn't find a manager in your contacts. What is your manager's first and last name?" However, if I say, "Hey Siri, message The Boss," it'll compose the message for me and send it to my mom, as it is supposed to. So my question is, how do I get it to recognize the nicknames in my contacts like it does for my text messages for calls again? As stated before, this hasn't happened until recently.
