    My iPhone Xs shuts down at 10% even though I still have battery to spare. My batt health is at 100% so idk what the problem is. I tried hard resetting it but it still doesn’t work.

    The G5 is running fine and has a working Internet connection. If I choose 'Software Update' from the Finder drop down, it opens and the progress bar gets about two thirds of the way across. Then it stops with a message saying "an error occurred while checking for updates". This machine could run Leopard 10.5.8, but how can I get it updated? Thanks.

    Missing photos after creating new apple id

    Earlier today I created a new apple id and disconnected from my family's apple id (my mom and I had shared the id which caused problems so I decided to make my own). When I went into my new apple ID nearly all of my pictures were gone, only the pictures that I managed to save to the icloud were there. Many of my photos are missing due to many of my photos not being backed up in my icloud. Is there any way for me to recover these photos or are they gone forever? Contacted apple support but they were of no help. Thanks!

    Is there anyway to force bluetooth headset to work in Handsfree(AG Audio) mode in macOS?

    I've had a lot of trouble in getting my generic bluetooth headset to work when I'm taking a call on my mac mini m1. In windows you can select either stereo mode or handsfree mode from the audio settings. Is there something like that which I can do on macOS?

    So, I just tried to visit Steam's website and it was stalling. No contents. Safari then errored saying "The server was not responding". The same happens for Stack Overflow and Twitter. YouTube Google(.com) and Reddit work just fine

    Yesterday, all websites were working just fine too. I went to https://steamstat.us and saw: "Steam Store: Partially Broken" but everything else was fine.

    I've never owned an iphone.

    Always android but im getting a apple 6 watch and so i need one.

    Im not into photography or any fancy stuff so would the Iphone SE which is only $550 canadian do the job vs paying for the low end iphone 12 - $999 canadian

    Or is there some reason why i would need to pay twice the amount. Bear in mind i just want it so i can use the iphone watch lol. Crazy i have to buy one. But that's apple for you.

    Activation Lock on iPhone 7

    Hi! I got an iPhone 7 new from my cell provider a few years ago. I used it briefly before getting an 8, at which point I kept the 7 as a backup. I haven't used the 7 in a couple years. I took out the 7 because I need it now. It charges and powers on, but it says my passcode is incorrect. It's the same passcode I use on the 8 and hasn't been changed. I'm trying to restore to factory settings to give to a friend. I've started this via iTunes and get to the point at which it asks me to login with AppleID and password, yet keeps indicating that mine is incorrect. It tells me that the AppleID for the account starts with a letter that mine does not start with. Mind you, I got this phone brand new and no one else has used it.

    What are reasons that the passcode wouldn't work and how can it be registered to someone else's email/AppleID?

    Changing the Apple Music folder directory & it doesn't rescan

    Hi everyone!

    On my 2021 Macbook Pro (Big Sur), I want to change Apple Music's default directory. I also don't want it to Keep my music folder organized (so that is unchecked) since I organize my MP3s in my folder structure; and I also don't want it to copy the files to the music media folder (so that is also unchecked) since I don't need double copies of all music. So, with those two options unchecked, I change the folder directory to the other folder and... it never scans the new folder to find music. I can't find a way to force it to scan it. I'd super appreciate any ideas. Thank you sooo much!!! :)

    2008 24” iMac SSD install gone wrong

    2008 iMac SSD Boot Up

    So I got this 2008 24" iMac for free. It is updated to El Capitan and was running slow so I decided to use ifixit and replace the hard drive with a crucial 250 gb drive. After installing the drive and turning the computer on I started getting the flashing file with a question mark in it. I have read that I can possibly do an internet update or something but sadly I am using a dell keyboard and mouse with the iMac so I can never get the commands to work through the keyboard (when I hit the alt key the disc utility doesn't pop up and when I do win+alt+r the internet screen doesn't pop up). Any suggestions on what to do to get this computer running again?

    I have an Iphone7+ and it is up to date14.6 and this problem just started cause i didnt have this problem before. i cleaned the ear speaker up top with alcohol and a qtip but nothing. How to fix?

    iCloud.com email addresses

    Hello,

    I have a primary AppleID that I've been using for some time. I currently use a gmail.com email for my AppleID.

    I want to create an iCloud.com email address. This sounds like it would be simple but I've been trying for nearly two years to get a straight answer about how this works and everyone tells me different things.

    Some folks say: 1) never,ever use an iCloud email as a primary email address on an AppleID in case I were to ever lose my password - they say I'll be locked out for good.
    2) that i can add an iCloud.com email address and my gmail will stay associated with my account, so I can log in with either interchangeably.
    3) if I create an iCloud.com email address on my Apple ID, I'll never be able to change to using any other third party (gmail/hotmail, mydomain.com, etc) email address as my AppleID in the future, should I wish to.
    4) I can create any number of iCloud.com email addresses under my current Apple ID and it won't become my Apple ID. 5) I can create any number of iCloud.com email addresses as separate Apple IDs and can access email all of them from within my current Apple ID.

    I've also heard that Apple is adding some additional protections this fall from getting locked out (one can provide email/phone info for a spouse or friend, in case of getting locked out of Apple ID as additional safety), which seems to help with the concerns about having an iCloud.com email as my Apple ID.

    I want to transition to using an iCloud.com email address because I like Apple's stance on privacy. I also like the ability to have unlimited disposable email addresses (again, coming this fall) plus the extra two or so email address aliases for an iCloud.com email. I also want use the LogIn with Apple privacy features more.

    But, I'm worried about how to go about doing this, having gotten so many different stories about how an iCloud.com email address works. Does anyone know what the true story is for creating/using an iCloud.com email address on my Apple ID or who I could reach out to at Apple support (meaning, what department) to finally give a definitive answer on how best to do this? Any info or direction would be super helpful. Thanks so so much in advance!

    Devices: iPhone X, iPad Pro 2018, Mac mini. All using latest versions of iOS/MacOS.

    My uncle found an iPad this morning that I assume is locked. He has the person's name and said it keeps receiving messages from a contact seeming to be from their spouse.

    I don't know much about Apple products but I told him I'd take a look.

    Is there a way to see the contacts/messages to get the spouse's contact information? Or any other tricks to find out any info to get it back to them?

    “FaceTime Failed”

    Whenever my friend FaceTimes me, or perhaps whenever I FaceTime my friend, it always comes up with "FaceTime Failed" almost immeadiately after I accept the call or call my friend. It's incredibly annoying, and it just started doing this. Same with regular calls too, as it comes up with "Call Using iPhone Failed" when I accept it. Just to note, I'm on iPad, but luckily it doesn't do this one phone. Any suggestions?

    Issues with screen time.

    So I want to change my screen time to have a limit til 9:30 but I don't know the passcode, so I tried a bunch and it gave me a "Try again in ____ minutes" screen. And I kept trying and it kept repeating. So I tried to reset the password and I went to change screen time passcode and I did. So I go back on and try to type the passcode i changed it too and it went to the try again thing again... so an hour or so later I try reseting it again but once I type my Apple ID and password in it just disables it again. What do I do?
