Quitting All Apps at Once on MacOs Easily Using Alfred Posted: 05 May 2021 10:45 PM PDT Alfred is one of the most useful apps that you can get for MacOs for free for all of the useful features and for money if you want the additional features. It's a way more advanced and faster version of spotlight. One of the most useful and free feature that I find it can do is the quitting all apps feature. You pull up its search bar using a key bind like 'cmd + space', then you enter "quit" and the option to quit all apps will come up. Then you simply hit enter to quit all of your apps. I find this method way faster than individually quitting all the apps and faster than using the native force quit menu. This is just one of the features that Alfred is amazing for but has a bunch of other really useful features that saves some time. [link] [comments]

Syncing errors with music in iTunes with both Mac and iPhone being on the latest software updates Posted: 05 May 2021 11:32 PM PDT When syncing music via iTunes with both WiFi and USB cable I'm constantly getting partially synced information. I use a separate program (Meta) to tag my songs along with manually applying my album artwork. When it's time to sync with iTunes I always choose the manual sync. Now for some reason when I sync over a full 22 track album I'll get for example tracks 5,7,12, and 13 instead of the full 22 songs. Even sometimes I'll finally get the full 22 songs to successfully transfer over to the iPhone BUT the album cover will just up and disappear even though it shows it in iTunes for EVERY track. How can I fix this so I can get a reliable full sync every time? TIA Edit: I've had an Apple Music subscription in the past so I'm not sure if that jacked up my syncing. [link] [comments]

How risky is downloading Big Sur these days? Posted: 06 May 2021 02:42 AM PDT So, I'm looking at getting this upgrade because it will allow me to use some new features in Logic which will be very handy! I'm using a Mid-2014 12" Macbook. I'm reading horror stories about the upgrade bricking some machines but not others. How's it looking these days? [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 May 2021 02:09 AM PDT Hey everybody, New Mac user here. My questions regards the sorting of files: I have two files "Messtechnik.pdf" ( let's call it file 1) and "Messtechnik Labor.pdf"(file 2). I am used to it from windows (as well as from goodnotes on my iPad), that they are sorted as file 1 followed by file 2. Ok my MacBook they are sorted the other way around, is there any chance to change this behavior other than manual sorting? BTW, a third file called "Messtechnik - Grundlagen.pdf" is sorted before the other two. Thanks in advance for any help! [link] [comments]

DoH (DNS over HTTPS) support on macOS Big Sur Posted: 05 May 2021 11:53 AM PDT I have downloaded the profile for Cloudflare DoH from here. I have installed this profile by opening it, then going to System Preferences and Installing it. It appears in the Network Interfaces list, as expected, but it is greyed out. Doing a quick check using 1.1.1.1/help, it says not connected via DoH, like this log link. I have tried this profile on iPadOS 14, and iOS 14, and it does work perfectly. BTW: I have also tried installing this via MDM, and that does not solve it either. I have been trying since Feb, please help. [link] [comments]

Mini Display adapters getting cooked Posted: 05 May 2021 12:22 PM PDT I have a 2011 MacBook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.6. I have noticed over time that the mini display adapters that I use for my external Samsung monitor seem to burn out at a regular pace. It happened to two mini-hdmi adapters and now to a mini-vga adapters. They get very hot to the touch and it's like they are getting cooked. It seems to happen when I restart/turn on the computer ( just realized this today ). Has anyone else experienced this and if so, we're you able to find a fix for it? I will try to remove the display cable when restarting moving forward but I know I am inevitably going to forget to do this. So ideally, I'd like to fix the software/hardware problem.
