- Anyone having issues with the HBO Mac app on their Apple TV? It repeatedly freezes, spins or crashes when initially opening the app. My Apple TV is like only a few years old. And I’ve deleted and download the app a couple times and keep having the same issue. Thanks!

| Posted: 04 May 2021 08:19 AM PDT I recently subscribed to Prime Video and I have a Sony Bravia 930E that includes Smart TV (Google TV). The Amazon Prime Video app for Google TV is full featured. At the start of a program episode it includes the ability to skip Amazon program preview ads, and program recap/credits. On the other hand, the Amazon Prime Video app on the Apple TV 4K is subpar. It has none of the above useful features, one has to fast forward to skip it all. The only reason that I stream Prime on the Apple TV 4K is for the better audio support (two Airpods Pro) while Sony TV only supports one for some reason. I gather Amazon and Apple do not get along for Amazon having developed such a horrible app for Apple TV 4K. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 04 May 2021 10:29 PM PDT I'm currently using multiple ATVs, 4th Gen and 4K on two different TVs in two different rooms. I have Google Fiber and the WiFi strength is what you'd hope/expect. The videos I stream from my 2018 iMac (large SSD + 64 RAM) typically play perfectly. Recently (and rarely/randomly have happened in the past) I've been struggling to keep the audio in sync, continues to lag on both systems and different videos. I've restarted both, no difference. I haven't unplugged them yet, it's late but I'll try tomorrow, but it fixes itself if I skip forward or backward for a short time before it lags again. I'm also getting crackling from the sound, sometimes, when it's lagging but never when it's not. Looking for others with or had similar issues to try figure out how to fix. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Dolbyvision suddenly crapped out Posted: 04 May 2021 11:01 PM PDT Like the title says. Worked fine yesterday afternoon; stopped yesterday evening. I had not been messing with any settings or anything - this was just totally random. Image colors are all messed up and jagged. Had to switch Apple TV to the 'normal' 4K HDR @ 60. Apple TV is updated to whatever the latest version of TV OS is. TV is a Vizio and is also fully up to date. Both have worked flawlessly for around 2.5 years. I have tried: - restarting the Apple TV several times - restarting the TV itself multiple times - tried a different HDMI cable Any ideas? Thanks to all in advance!! [link] [comments]  | ||

I noticed that after using Airplay to send music or YouTube to my Apple TV the volume buttons on my iPhone won't work anymore. Even when I disconnect it and go to airplane mode. Only thing that helps is restarting the phone. Ps: I noticed the buttons work when I long press open my playback on the phones control center but stop working when I close the control center. Everything negotiates to Dolby Atoms when the content supports it. After the latest update, credits on AppleTV+ flash like it's trying to adjust something. Anyone else experiencing this?
