TIL "CMD + ~" allows you to switch back and forth between open windows of the same application

    Posted: 04 May 2021 07:00 AM PDT

I usually have multiple windows open for the same application and I would always 4 finger swipe down to switch between the windows... not anymore!

Most of you are probably already aware of this feature, but just in case somebody else out there needs to cycle through multiple windows of the same application, this is for you!

Conjecture: The M1 Macbook Pro design is shaping up to be a spiritual successor to the TiBook

    Posted: 04 May 2021 07:25 AM PDT

I haven't seen many saying this, so thought I'd make a post about it and see if others agreed...

    - For a computer from 2001, the Titanium PowerBook G4 has a surprisingly modern-looking design. (Dana Sibera mocked the TiBook up in the new iMac colors, and they almost look like they could be sold today

    - The screen shape especially looks quite akin to the design language ushered in by the 2018 iPad, with rounded interior corner bezels and everything. It actually kind of looks like a modern iPad on a hinge.

    - Current rumors support a "flat-edged" M1 MacBook Pro design, but the schematics that leaked from a few weeks back show a computer with a rounded bottom case, which makes me think we're going to see a flat top and rounded bottom (on an recent episode of ATP, John Siracusa, responding to the flat-edged design rumors, argued they couldn't be right because you need the bottom to be rounded at least a bit so you can get your fingers under it to pick it up off a flat surface like a table -- this makes sense to me).

    - This half flat/half rounded design was mocked up by 9to5Mac. Compare it with the profile of the TiBook.

    - 9to5 went with a version that looks exactly like the current pros but with a different shape, which makes it look a bit boring to me. I'd love to see Apple bring back some kind of exposed hinge like the original TiBook. The way from the front the screen seems to hover half an inch above the bottom case because of the air gaps on the sides is gorgeous and quintessentially Apple -- it's even similar to the look of the iPad on the Magic Keyboard. (And the profile is also really cool...)

What do you think of this theory? Would you be excited by a return to this kind of design or would you prefer something that looks more like the current MacBooks?
