The (now former) Reddit employee is Aimee Challenor and her father was charged for raping and torturing a 10 year old girl. Aimee lived in the house yet claims she didn't know everything. She never distanced herself from any of this and still continues to show support for the perpetrator. Furthermore Aimee is married to a pedophile who openly posts pedo fanfics. This resulted in a plethora of subreddits going private as a way to protest. This seems to have worked as Aimee now no longer works for Reddit. That is all, thank you! [link] [comments]  | ||

I have set Chrome as the default browser. How do I fix this? I would gladly use Safari as my default browser if I could use it on non-apple platforms. | Any way to recreate lockscreen phone favorites without 3rd party software? Posted: 25 Mar 2021 06:47 AM PDT Our company has us use extremely locked-down work phones with which we have barely any permissions. We've just gotten word that they finally updated the company app and our phones will be moving to iOS 14 at the end of the month (we're locked out from updating our phones ourselves). I work with a crew of guys and we need to call each other CONSTANTLY so we all have eachother on our "phone favorites" on the lockscreen. I know iOS 14 removes that feature but typing in the password to unlock two dozen times a day is going to get real old real fast so we're looking for a substitute. However all the normal solutions have issues:
I'm wondering if there's any way to re-create the lockscreen phone favorites using just stuff that comes with iOS from the factory, like shortcuts or something. I've tried doing things like this in the past but half the time running shortcuts from the lockscreen you have to type in your password before you can run it, which defeats the purpose. My phone is completely empty from photos and I want to add "nature" folder from my PC to my iPhone. So: 1) I synced "Nature"-folder into my iPhone with iTunes (PC)
So now the pictures are inside my phone, internal storage folder called "Nature" and Photos app does not show any photos.
6.Selected all pics I wanted and pushed "share / save" (not sure which one it is since my OS is not in english language)
So is there duplicate copy of the picture if it's located both in "Photos" app and inside my phone memory folder? Sorry about bad english. Not my native language. Hope you understand what I try to say. [link] [comments]  | ||
| How can I transfer music from my iPhone to my Mac/PC? Posted: 25 Mar 2021 05:52 AM PDT Due to a serious issue with my Mac a few weeks ago I've lost most of my music library. Quite a few of those files were ripped from old CDs that I simply don't have anymore. Now all that's left of them is on my iPhone. I know there are plenty of third party apps that allow you to transfer music back to your PC/Mac but it seems like they all have paywalls that are ridiculously expensive. Posted: 24 Mar 2021 10:44 PM PDT On iPhone, Notes automatically highlites certain text that it thinks are dates, time, phone numbers, links and such. This of course has useful function, as able to click on and go to date, or dial number. For me, they are not useful, as are often strings of numbers that look like phone number, but are not, such as medical information. I dislike this so much, I started to use Simplenote. Until it started to do this, which got me to think, is not app feature, it is core system iOS feature. Does anyone know how turn off? I've explored all keyboard and related settings. Doing weird format, with extra spa ce-s and char..acter_s will fool it enough so does not happen. But as you can see, that is annoying. thanks [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 25 Mar 2021 06:48 AM PDT I warned you, this is a long post. If you have free time, love Apple devices and want to provide your opinion then please continue. I'm also posting this to various Apple related subs to get different points of view.
Before I begin, I live in Canada and my career background is 4 years of being a QA Tester and currently a little over 4.5 years of being a Production Deployment Specialist. So, I've worked in the software industry roughly 8.5 years now. From that time I've learned quite a lot of how the different departments see a product/project from various perspective. These include; QAs, managers, developers, UX specialists, business admins, security compliance, help desk phone support and of course end users
I've taken my experience and free time to create a (massive in my opinion) list of 142 tweaks/QoL/features and an additional 33 bugs I've encountered that should be addressed to make iPadOS/iOS buttery smooth. That's 175 total changes and more I think up every day... more than the entire first generation of Pokémon.
This project has taken me the last 4 months using an iPad 7th generation which is all I could afford (and a workplace provided iPhone 12 Pro) as my main devices to see if iPads really are computer/laptop killers. Although I can't quite say iPads are computer/laptop killers at the moment, with the changes I suggest it would make iPadOS/iOS a much smoother experience that also provides more powerful functions/preferences/info for advanced users.
Both devices I used are on the latest version 14.4.1 and everything in the list is still present.
The tweaks/QoL/features are in my opinion not too out of scope for where iPadOS/iOS is now and I tried to think in that mindset as well. Nothing crazy like let us dual boot macOS. I kept it as much within the realm of possibility that iPadOS/iOS currently offers.
I'm sure some of them will be outdated since iPadOS/iOS 15 changes things, but not all of it. ——————————————— So here is my dilemma, is there even a point in me releasing this list? I'm not about to submit 175 feedback submissions to Apple, 1 at a time as in my opinion that is ridiculous and would take a long time.
What I'm more or less getting at is, should I just print this list and wipe my bum with it since the chances of Apple employees seeing it are almost zero?
Could these ideas instead be helpful to the modding community? I'm not specifically naming any place or exploit as I know that's against the rules in some subs.
The thing is I want to stay on a "closed" version due to security but with so many ideas I have, it sucks to see the potential of iPadOS/iOS being locked behind another 2-3 iPadOS/iOS versions/years of waiting.
In some cases I'm sure in the tweaks/QoL/features section I have, the function is working as designed (WAD) but in others maybe it was just an oversight? Even if say 30 of those 142 are WAD that would still leave 112 improvements.
The 33 bugs I've found, I'm more than confident they are not WAD as some are embarrassingly bad and I'm wondering how they even made it out of QA.
I'm sure there's some things in the list you might find silly or stupid. However you may even see an idea that you think "wow, Apple needs to implement this ASAP". Who knows. ——————————————— In terms of macOS, I would love to do a similar list for optimization as well for that operating system, but I cannot afford to at the moment.
I'm not looking for money from Apple for my ideas (as per their submission guidelines they don't offer anything), but it would be nice to have a Mac Mini M1 provided to me so I could start some exploratory testing there as well. Kind of like a reviewer or something.
Or if I end up sharing my list and of you readers likes what they see and wants to donate one of your no longer used devices. Even if it's pre-M1 or not even a Mac Mini like an outdated MacBook. I'm hoping to make the full switch to the Apple ecosystem and just want iOS/iPadOS as well as macOS to be the best it can be within expectations.
Regardless I plan to buy an M1 Mac Mini or M1X/M2 if Apple decides to give the Mac Mini a refresh by the time I might be able to afford it (probably 2022 Spring/in one year). ——————————————— Then again, who am I but just one out of the millions of Apple's customers and this post may just get buried and forgotten. | How do I remove/disable text replacements all at once? Posted: 25 Mar 2021 01:48 AM PDT Almost 3 years ago I logged in with an other iCloud to get a save file for PixelGun 3D (game). When logging in nothing serious happened but when I typed random words would replace my typed words instead. I figured out that this was text replacement. The iCloud 'hack' merged all text replacement from random people into my iPad text replacement memory (the iCloud was used by hundreds of people and caused their text replacement to merge in to the iCloud and when logging in I got theirs). I have this for almost 3 years now and can't type normally. Removing the text replacements would take hours of work and after 2 days they will reappear. TL:DR title [link] [comments]  | ||

I live in both major ecosystems (iOS and Android), partially for work purposes (e.g. testing), but also out of preference. I am now #TeamAndroid for phones, but I probably compute more on my iPad than I do on my Windows computer, my Android phone, or any of my Chromebooks. I love my current (Google Pixel) phone, but my favorite phone in the history of ever was my iPhone 4s... which I just now found, while going through some old boxes. I stuck it on the charger, and I now have a pristine, beautiful iPhone 4s sitting at 100% charge. It currently says 'Searching...' because the SIM has long been deactivated and I'm on my second or third SSID since then. I am kind of tempted to connect to my current WiFi SSID, but thought I'd ask here first. The phone is running iOS 7.0.3 (11B511). My question, and the tl;dr: "Is it possible (in 2021) to still ('responsibly') use my favorite phone ever (my iPhone 4s) for light/limited nostalgic purposes, if I'm WiFi-only and don't use it for 'general use' (browsing, etc)? But anyways I don't always have a internet to connect to so I have to use data. The thing is I want to watch videos and surf reddit but it takes like 3 minutes to load google. I'm guessing that's has something to do with my data being almost all gone? But that doesn't make sense to me because I can load google even though it's slow but I can't watch anymore videos on YouTube or reddit. Looking for suggestions for must have work apps that are effective and ease the work.. Few of the apps I am missing from my BB and looking for suggestions for replacement are: A. Truecaller B. Camscanner (not available in my region) C. Office Libre/others. D. BB Hub E. BB E-Mail (was the best) F. File explorer/manager G. When I dial someone just displays the name and doesnt display which of the OP number I have dialled or is incoming from. Well it seems will take some time and have to get accustomed to apple.
