    Why is my iPhone connecting to other wifi wirh worse signal?

    So... I have 2 routers in my home. One is downstairs the second is upstairs, my room is upstairs so i want to be connected to the router that is upstairs coz it has better signal. But for some reason when my phone is idle it switches from the wifi with better signal to the other with worse signal... just why. It's anyoning af because whenever i wanna use my phone i have to switch wifi coz it's not even working (fe: sometimes I can't even load a pic).

    I need a method to send INSTANT push notifications to my iphone from an application im working on

    Working on a monitoring application that I want phone alerts on (this is just a personal application, so no need to think of what might be best, just get the job done). I initially tried discord, setup a discord bot, but the mobile alerts would be like 10 minutes delayed from when the bot actually wrote in the discord chat. Anyone have another approach utilizing some other application? Not sure if slack would have instant notifications or something ... (btw, the reason why im trying to stay with discord/slack/etc is one of the things that will be alerted would be chat logs of any sorts and it would just be much cleaner to read) I was REALLY hoping to make discord work, but the push notifications were just coming so slow to my phone. I need near real time alerts.

    Pretty annoying. How to turn this notification off? Headphone notification can't be turned off as it gives me a graph of the last 6 months? Running iOS 14.4. someone pls help me. TIA

    I have updated to iPadOS 14.4 and it feels a bit snappier! Will report on battery life in a day or two.

    I've heard that most updates result in worse screen-on time, but I wanted to know from other iPad Air 2 users here if updating resulted in any degradation in any aspect of it's daily use.

    What time is displayed on photos when I took them in a different time zone?

    I'm U.K. based however let's say I take a photo in Barcelona (one hour ahead) while on holiday. My phone was set to Barcelona time at the time.

    When I look at the photos now (2 years later in the U.K.) the time displayed is 1130am.

    Does that mean it was taken at 1130am Barcelona time, or 1130am U.K. time?

    Sorry if it's a dumb question but I'm curious!

    Is there a way to reorganize/backup Notes or move them from one account to another?

    I've been making notes in the Notes app for the past 8 years now. The app is currently filled with numerous irrelevant documents and folders that may still be important in the future, but crowd the app as it is right now.

    I'm wondering if there is a way to possibly move all of these folders from iCloud to one of my other connected accounts. Either that, or save them in such a way that I will still have access to them in the future. It would be nice if I could still review and search through those notes at any time, without having to import them back into the Notes app (or some similar, tedious process).

    Just to clarify, I have about 40 folders on my iCloud account and near none in my other 3 accounts. I want to be able to start fresh with the notes in the iCloud section, and move the rest to somewhere else (possibly another account).

    Can you update iOS using its Ethernet connection?

    So iOS still has support for Ethernet connection using certain adapters. And it doesn't allow for major ota updates using cellular data (5g being the only exception for iPhone 12 and beyond). Let's say you're having problems with WiFi at home or are out somewhere where WiFi isn't an option and you got an update then. Would it be possible to update iOS using said Ethernet connection as it isn't mobile data? Genuinely curious about this.

    Google maps + Carplay

    Hi everyone. Google maps got carplay support according to google, right? Iam looking for navigation so checking few options, Google maps dont want to show up in Carplay menu. With other apps everything is good, if they support Carplay they show up in General->Carplay as soon as I install them. Any tips? Perhaps I need to do something different with google maps specifically?

    Ringtone I didn't set?

    I've never changed my default ringtone (iPhone 12 pro max) I recently had a known contact call me while I had airpods in and it rang with a different ringtone (not sure if it was even a stock Apple ringtone, but it might have been constellation). I answered the phone but neither party could hear the other. I hung hup and called the contact back and the call processed normally.

    Has anyone else experienced this? I double checked my default ringtone and that I hadn't set a custom one for that contact.

    Looking for an app to track reoccurring money owed

    I see a ton of IOU type apps, but none that have a reoccurring feature for IOUs for things like a cell phone bill. I have found Splitwise, but it wants 2$ a months to unlock the reoccurring feature and that's 10% of what they owe me for their cell bill, so that won't work for me. Any other suggestions?

    Can't upload videos to IGTV?

    I'm asking for a colleague who has an iPhone8 and can't seem to upload videos to IGTV. I'm an android user who's not familiar at all with iOS so apologies if I use incorrect terms. He has downloaded a video, but when he tries to upload it to IGTV, the app can't find it. There are a few folders listed, but not the one containing the video. Any ideas? Is there a download folder from which you need to move the video to the gallery? thank you

    Well since today's morning whenever I go to YouTube app and start scrolling down, my YouTube page start to stutter while I'm scrolling. But when I browse for some videos and press search, in that section of videos which I searched, there is no stuttering at all while I'm scrolling down. Also my comment section is fluid while I'm going through the comments no stutter/lagging at all. So just my home YouTube page is the problem. I updated app, tried to offload the app, force restarted phone, nothing helped. And yes, this is the first time I'm facing this problem since I have my phone, and yes the YouTube is the only app with this problem. I'm on iOS 14.4 iPhone 11 Pro. If you guys have any solution for solving this problem I would appreciate it.

    Restore fails

    Recently I found an old phoneI lost a while back, when I charge it it lights up but doesn't turn on. So, I tried to restore it with my Mac. While restoring for some reason it disconnects in the middle and gives no message as to why (I have done this multiple times). Now, my Mac isn't updated to Catalina as I like Mojave better, is this the problem? Do I need to update in order to restore my phone? Any help will be appreciated.

    “Tap to download” media question from iPhone to android

    I was looking through old texts and wanted to see a pic but I had to tap to download to see what it was... it was an old convo from 2 years ago. They're an android and I immediately panicked... can they see if I download the pic to view it? My phone has low space so I think that's why it does it. But idk if android sends people messages saying "your image from (old date) has been downloaded"? If so that would be incredibly embarrassing.... does it do that or am I just worrying over nothing? Please help 😣

    Issues with phone numbers saved to contacts.

    So occasionally people that I know text me and in the message app, their number shows up with their picture but the name isn't displayed, just the full number. Why does this happen? When I click on their contact it says "update" but nothing changes. It just adds that number again and it displays the name again.

    I just noticed it did again when I texted myself. It has my picture, but just shows my number. I clicked contact, it shows my name and "update". It added the number which now shows it exactly the same way as the previous 5 numbers also listed.

    Any ideas on what is making it freak out?

    Guys, I am planning to buy an old iphone (7plus most prob), my goal is to experiment with it, jailbreak it, understand the ios enviornment, and learn its core concepts to help me have a better understanding of it's technical subject.

    Do you guys think its a good idea? Will i be able to jail break it? Will i be able to understand its data storing hierarchy?

    Or would you suggest me something different?
