    TV App on Apple TV Not Working Properly

    The TV app on the Apple TV hasn't been working properly for a while. It doesn't show progress in movies or TV shows that have been partially watched. And with the 14.3 software update in which the layout changed, the Library function hasn't worked yet as it spins for a while like it's getting ready to load and then says "You Haven't Purchased Any Movies or TV Shows." I own over 4500 movies and 130 TV shows. So ... the app is clearly malfunctioning.

    Apple TV 4K screensaver won't come on. My TV input list pops up instead..

    For example if i pause my Netflix for awhile instead of the Apple TV wallpaper/screensaver coming on it just goes right to my TV's input list interface.

    Any idea why this is happening ?

    Can I physically connect my iPhone to Apple TV HD

    Is it possible to connect my iPhone to my Apple TV HD via a cable so it can use the internet?

    I can use the personal hotspot via WiFi, however it keeps disconnecting every so often.

    I can connect my laptop and iPhone and use the hotspot, just wondering if there's a way to do the same with the Apple TV?

    Only getting 2.0 PCM sound and Dolby Vision even though I have DV turned off

    I just picked this up today, and my setup supports everything including Atmos, but I'm not getting any of that, just stereo sound. Another thing is that things keep playing in Dolby Vision, yet I have it turned off and set to HDR. My Nvidia Shield has no issues with this stuff. What's going on?

    Steam controller with AppleTV/Apple Arcade?

    I was trying to avoid having to purchase a controller to play Apple Arcade on my AppleTV. I have a Steam controller I don't use to play my PC games anymore. I thought that would work with Bluetooth connection on AppleTV. I can pair the Steam Controller with AppleTV, and it works fine to navigate the AppleTV menu system, but when I try to use it to control games it doesn't work. Any fix for this? Thanks.

    Moonlight - how to enable Steam Overlay?

    Has anyone gotten steam overlay to work in moonlight? Using an Xbox One S controller, launching steam big picture in moonlight.

    The controller shortcut for steam overlay is the Xbox button, but moonlight highjacks that button for something. I can't figure out the exact control scheme, but that button either goes to the AppleTV Home Screen or app switcher.

    Steam won't allow remapping of the overlay shortcut. Any ideas? I'm tempted to try a new Xbox series controller and changing the center button binding in steam to the new 'share' button. Worst case I can return it if that doesn't work.

    Reduced Music Volume Airplay

    I regularly play music from a Mac to my AppleTV via Airplay. The aTV is connected via HDMI to a Samsung Q90R soundbar and on to a LC C9. Lately I am getting significantly lower volume than I did. This may have started after a software update on the aTV, but I didn't notice exactly when. Since it's connected via HDMI, the aTV has no local volume control.

    Does ATV support background audio while streaming?

    I want to be able to listen to music while streaming tv (ie. sports) or playing a game. When I try to do this currently it stops my music stream. Would like to have the tv stream audio muted, but music playing. Is this possible?

    Clone/Cast non Apple TV video?

    My wife has a macbook pro 2017 and she likes to stream videos shared with her on google drive. She generally uses Chrome cast to cast the videos but sometimes there is no audio. When this happens she has to connect the MBP to the TV using a USB type C to HDMI connector to get the audio to work. I was wondering if this would also be a problem if I bought an Apple TV and had these videos "cast" from the MBP to the Apple TV?

    No video from Apple TV 4K shortly after update

    Purchased ATV4K Feb 2018.

    Netflix app wouldn't open a couple days ago so I checked my TVOS version and it was 13 something. I had auto update on but that was obviously not working. (ATV connected via Ethernet.)

    So I updated and Netflix worked but the next day I unplugged the ATV and my Samsung 4K TV while cleaning and plugged them back in and now the video and audio won't come through the HDMI cable.

    I've unplugged and replugged the power multiple times. I've tried a Vizio 1080p TV and a Samsung 4K monitor. I've tried multiple HDMI cables and power cables. I've tried unplugging the Ethernet and with it in.

    A few times ago the white light was blinking for a long time. Now it is steady white. Once I got the Apple logo for a fraction of a second.

    Apple said I could mail it to them for repair for $150. That would be stupid since that's almost what they cost new.

    If I bring it to the Apple store an hour away is there a chance they can/will fix it without charging me $150?

    I'm a huge Apple fan. I have an iPhone, watch, fully loaded 16" MacBook Pro I just love. But this is upsetting.

    Is the Apple TV 4K a disposable product that lasts 2 years and you throw it away and buy a new one like the AirPods are?

    Is it worth taking to the store? Am I totally screwed?

    Homesharing not working

    Haven't been able to use the homesharing function of my appletv for some time. I have updated it to 14.4. I have reset the appletv. I have logged out and back in on both my computer and appletv. My itunes is up to date. I can see everything in the library. I can even play music. But when it comes to playing movies or tv shows, all I see is a message stating "This content can't be played on this appletv." Am I missing something or is the apple tv useless.
