TVE Apps Finally Auto Logging In

When did this happen?! I just noticed today that most of the TVE apps are automatically logging in using my cable provider credentials. There are still a few stragglers that display a code, but the majority now support logging in with my TVE credentials. Hopefully they also stay logged in now too.

I also hope it's global for everyone and not just for my provider (Optimum). It's quite nice to use voice now to "watch CNN live" and then "watch Food Network live." My Apple TV is starting to feel like I hoped it would three years ago...

Now if only if the Apple TV app showed what was currently live in each of those apps. That would be a killer feature.

Airplay issue that I can’t figure out how to solve

Hey all,

So I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and an Apple TV on my vizio tv.

My issue is this: more often than not, no matter what the source app or website is, when I try to stream a video via airplay or screen mirror, all that will happen hs both screens will look like it's loading, flicker, and then the apple tv is back to the main menu Home Screen. After this, if I try to airplay to my vizio tv, it'll only get stuck or open to the airplay menu screen with select tv or some shit... and if I try to screen mirror from the Drop down menu, it's the same old shit. This didn't used to be the case, airplay used to work fantastic so idk what's wrong. it's so fucking annoying I can't figure out what the fuck is wrong with this shit and ive googled endlessly for months and I can't so please help a bitch out!

Can an Apple TV play regular unbranded media files?

I'm considering purchasing an Apple TV, wanted some advice first —

My mom does a lot of streaming and/or torrenting of shows and movies on her Mac laptop. She's in her seventies and terminally ill, so she stays upstairs in her room most of the time when not in hospital.

Occasionally she feels well enough to come downstairs to the living room TV to watch something she picked with the family. She doesn't like wrestling with HDMI cable etc.

Is there any way for her to upload movie files from her laptop to an Apple TV over WiFi?

If not, are there any other devices we could hook up to the downstairs TV that would allow this?

(We already have a Roku stick for general streaming. She specifically wants to watch torrented media she has in her laptop hard drive on the downstairs TV, without using a physical HDMI connection.)

Apple TV 3rd Gen (3,1) YouTube fail...

Hey all. Does anyone have the same Apple TV 3rd Gen 3,1 (the first rev) and having problems with artefacts in some videos?? We watch Tom Pembertons Farm Life and it has a really bad issue with green video artefacts. His videos work fine on all other devices, and other videos work fine on this Apple TV. Reset the Apple TV twice but still got issues. Downgraded to 7.5 because of the 7.6 pause issue and still having problems. Any ideas? Cheers

Apple TV 4K help

My Apple TV 4K has been restarting (crashing?) every now and then on a few apps recently. Anyone know how to fix this?

Currently on tvOS 14.0.2. YouTube and Hulu have crashed so far.

Apple TV 3rd Gen Hulu Help

I rarely use the 3rd gen in my bedroom. Wife sometimes watches tv while I play games. Anyway, the Hulu app does not seem to be loading new episodes. My apple tv 4k in living room is fine. Am I missing something or am I being forced into a new apple tv?
