iPhone 8 Plus user here, how badly am I going to miss touch ID after getting the 12? Posted: 17 Oct 2020 05:09 AM PDT So I've been using the 8 Plus for close to 3 years now and I am really used to how touch ID works. The question is how "usable" is face ID ? Does it give a lot of errors? Is it fast enough to really use or you do revert to inputting the code to unlock? I am so reluctant that I am considering skipping the 12 with the hope that the 13 will have the touch ID in the power but, like the iPad. Thanks for your comments! [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Oct 2020 07:27 AM PDT I've read credit cards inside the Apple MagSafe Wallet are protected. What about credit cards in a purse or regular wallet. If my iPhone 12 and credit cards are close together will it ruin my cards? [link] [comments]
MagSafe charger ($39) doesn’t come with a power adapter Posted: 16 Oct 2020 03:57 PM PDT I was debating wether to buy a MagSafe charger or not being that it's $40. But hey, I really wanted that faster wireless charging they advertised and the satisfying click of a magnet. Well come to find out to get that fast charging speed I'll need a 20W power adapter ($20 on their site) and wouldn't you know the MagSafe charger doesn't include ANY power adapter. The worst part is I can't even use my current 5W one because it's coming with a USB C cable. I seriously can't understand how $40 doesn't buy me everything I need to use a charger. Which company has the best protective glass? Posted: 17 Oct 2020 06:46 AM PDT I've already looked up a couple for the iPhone 12, but they're all filled with fake reviews for the upcoming storm. Do you have recommendations? [link] [comments]

Why is the ProRAW exclusive to the pro lineup ? Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:16 AM PDT Hey all, Ever since this year iPhones have been revealed, something is bugging me. Aside from the telephoto lens, the LiDAR sensor and aesthetic changes, nothing differs between the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12. Particularly, the other two lenses are the same and the chip is identical. Therefore, I can't understand why shooting in proRAW won't be available for iPhone 12 (and even 12 Mini, for that matter) when clearly, it has the hardware and computing power to do so. Does anyone has an idea why Apple chose this ? I'm just bummed to have to pay $200 for nothing but software and I'd love to get some insight about this. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Oct 2020 09:32 AM PDT Nice new feature, Apple made it look exclusive to HomePod but it works nicely on iPhone. [link] [comments]
Why do you need so much storage? Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:11 AM PDT Hello, I was just wondering why people need so much storage on their phone? Mine is 64gb and I have used less than half in 3 years. I have lots of pics and videos but I also back them all to an external hard drive. I have lots of apps too. So just curious b/c I see people want the 12pro for the 128gb but that seems like so much. Also. Wouldn't you need to back it up somewhere anyway in case your phone gets lost? Anyway, not hating, just curious. [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Oct 2020 06:13 AM PDT Do you think the next generation of MagSafe on iPhones will include the ability to transfer data? While I am not certain this is technically possible, it would be very useful. Especially since Apple wants to move away from ports. This would also be useful for CarPlay since most vehicle manufacturers don't offer wireless CarPlay. [link] [comments]

iPhone 12 MagSafe Wallet Potential Issues?? Posted: 16 Oct 2020 07:35 PM PDT As the iPhone 12 lineup has just been revealed this week and pre-sales already selling out of the current stock, I wanted to know if anyone has any details about the Apple MagSafe Wallet? It doesn't have much of description on the Apple Store and I don't remember this being addressed in the recent Apple Event. I'm sure Apple has already thought of the issue of using Apple Pay, with 'Tap' capable credit/debit cards in the wallet... right? So when I go in to use Apple Pay with my phone and have a 'Tap' capable card in the MagSafe wallet on the phone, will it just be a lottery as to which payment method is used? Or will the wallet have RFID/NFC blocking safety measures? I hope for $59, Apple figured this one out. Anyone have any insight into this? [link] [comments] |
