| Posted: 05 Aug 2020 08:58 PM PDT Hi all, I have an iPhone 6s. Battery health is at 85%. Lately perhaps the past month or so I've started noticing rapid battery drain. Today I charged my phone to 70%, set it down and didn't pick it up for three hours. As soon as I replied to a few texts and opened up Instagram my phone went from 71 to 60 in probably 15 minutes. I closed Instagram and texted a bit more. Two hours later after taking 2 pics I was down to 15%. I realize this is an old phone but I never had this issue until recently. I am currently on iOS 13.4. I am worried upgrading more will make my battery even worse. As you can imagine I am frustrated. I'm seriously considering an Android. Before chucking this phone is there anything I can do besides replace the battery? Also if it matters I only used 13 of my 32 gigs of storage. I only text, Instagram and surf google on a daily basis. | Apple Requesting Payment Info For A Covered Repair Posted: 05 Aug 2020 02:36 PM PDT Currently have an iPhone 7 that is exhibiting the Cellular Update problem. According to Apple's support page, my phone qualifies to be repaired under this extended warranty program (my phone was purchased in September 2016, just shy of the 4 year expiration). However, after I got off the phone with customer support, I received an e-mail requesting payment information for $358.65. My question is, am I paying for the repair as it is not covered or is it just a hold? Has anyone sent theirs in before? I'd love to hear input. I don't want to find out later that I paid for a repair when I am going to replace my phone soon but I am in need of my phone until iPhone 12 comes out. [link] [comments]  |

I reset my phone and upon reactivation no longer Keynote, Pages, Numbers, iMovie, Garage Band, Clips, and Apple Store. | Posted: 05 Aug 2020 08:03 PM PDT Hi, I'm having a ton of issues with my 11 Pro Max. Unfortunately had to get 64GB because at the time that was the only phone available and I needed a new phone. I think this happened after iOS upgrade... But I started deleting stuff after it said I was out of space, just kept deleting and the free space would disappear and say it was taken. I checked storage and every time I'd delete it'd just go to "other". So I thought it was time to do a full backup and fresh restart.. I'm cheap so only have 5GB of iCloud, so whipped out my laptop. I have 873/953GB on my NVME and 752/931GB on my SSD on my laptop. When I try to backup, it says: iTunes could not back up the iPhone "iPhone" because not enough free space is available on this computer." This is obviously false. I tried restarting everything, deleting and reinstalling iTunes and trying again, and it still says the same thing. So now I paid for the 50GB iCloud so I can fix this issue and use my phone. I don't have the "iCloud backup" option shown here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203977#icloud So I don't feel confident in the iCloud.

I was outside and my phone began to act slower due to the heat, and at the time it was also submerged under an inch or two of water for a second. As both of these events have happened countless times, I do not understand why they would be an issue all of a sudden. My phone is constantly flashing the apple logo, I am unable to turn it off via the slider, iTunes does not pick it up... I don't believe that I can do a DFU reset because I cannot turn the phone while it is plugged into my laptop. This phone is in really good shape, but I have no idea what to do. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 05 Aug 2020 03:53 PM PDT I'll try to explain my issue the best I can: My iPhone 6s only has 16 GB of storage, over half of that though is occupied by system (5 GB) and other (8.5 GB). I've had to delete all photos, offload pretty much every app (could this be the problem?), clear safari cache, hard and soft reset my phone, all to no avail. I can hardly use my phone with how full it is. I'm running 13.5.1 iOS. I also had similar 'other' storage issues before updating from iOS 11/12 (don't remember which it was exactly, but I updated using DFU mode and restoring from an iCloud backup). Are there any solutions to this incessant 'other' storage issue? I'm thinking of downgrading to an older iOS, but don't know if that will solve it. My other problem is that I have an older macbook pro (early 2011) running high sierra (10.13.6), which doesn't support updating an iPhone on these newer iOS's. I noticed they are listed in Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Review Downloaded Videos, but there isn't an option to view the file or get more information. | iPhone X 13.5, can't access locked Notes Posted: 05 Aug 2020 10:36 AM PDT Since i restored to a new device from my old iPhone X that was on iOS 11.3.1 i can't use FaceID in many system apps like Notes, Free App Store downloads etc. I'm trying to access one of my locked Notes and it requires a password instead of FaceID, the thing is i dont remember the password and its not giving me the hint, the bigger issue here is that i go in the Notes settings and reset the password and set a new one and when i enter my new password it says invalid even though i just reset it... Things i tried:
I have a similar issue with Free App Store downloads, i have set FaceID ON for free downloads but whenever i install a new free app it goes straight to iCloud password instead of double tap power button to use FaceID... [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 05 Aug 2020 02:10 PM PDT So, I'm locked out of my Apple account and am unable to change my password due to the 2 step Authorization. I set the account up about 2 years ago. Forgot both password and the phone number I am unable to access now. Talked to support. They can't do anything. I was wondering if I should sign out of my account on my iPhone then just create a new account? Would I have access to all my files and apps still stored on my phone? I'm not used to iPhone. The one thing that's really bothering me is the inability to change the fricking alarm volume without lowering my volume for calls, notifications etc. This is a built in feature for all android phones and thought this was a universal thing that all manufacturers implemented years ago... but I suppose apple will add this feature in some years and call it innovation as always... And the i restored it a few days back and it was working fine but today it suddenly powered off. At first I thought that it was low on battery. Randomly, I'll power up the phone to go on the phone & the screen just won't respond to any inputs. The Face ID will work & unlock, but I won't be able to do anything (open phone, flashlight, camera, command centre) for a random amount of time, normally 15 - 20s before working as normal. There was an app on the windows 10 work computer that connected to the android phone. This allowed the sales reps to receive text leads and on the computer and send texts back to the phone. Much easier than typing on the android phone. We made the mistake of switching the sales phone to an Iphone. We did not consider that the windows texting app we use would not be available for Iphones. Now the sales reps are forced to type on the Iphone and we do not know how to text from the windows computer. Can anyone offer any advice on how to receive and send texts from an Iphone to a windows 10 computer? We only have those two devices and do not have a macbook. Thanks for any help. | Locally stored files in Apple Music. (Garage Band) Posted: 05 Aug 2020 07:42 AM PDT I want to set a song as my ringtone. Feel free to share an easier method if it exists, but the route that I decided to follow is to use Garage Band and export the song as a ringtone. I have Apple Music subscription, so all my songs are there, and that's where I wish to choose my song from. When I browse my songs over at Garage Band, most of them appear grey and are unavailable to chose, with a message saying "Protected songs and songs not stored locally on your iPhone can not be imported". The few exceptions are songs that are not in the Apple Music library, and I have downloaded them from the internet then added them to AM using my Mac. My question is, do I have to use youtube mp3 rips of songs that I already have, or is there something I can modify that would make these songs locally stored and allow me to put them into Garage Band. After that happens my phone starts to lag and i have to reset it to make it work properly again. I tried switching phones but the same exact thing happened. It was all good until i installed my backup from the last phone on it. I don't know what to do and what's wrong, some people on official apple site said that i should try deleting WhatsApp and installing it once again, i tried and it didn't work.
